    Maple Caramel Glazed Pears
    5-6 small pears
    3 tbsp unsalted butter
    3 tbsp sugar
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    1 tbsp vanilla bean paste
    1/2 cup whipping cream
    1 tbsp powdered sugar
    1/2 lemon
    Slice pears and scoop out the core with a spoon or melon baller. Rub the cut pears with lemon and set aside.
    In a large skillet melt butter and add sugar. Mix until melted and starting to brown. Add the maple and bring to a bubble.
    Carefully add the pears cut side down and cook for about 10-15 minutes until they start getting soft and browned on the bottom. Glaze the exposed parts with the syrup in the pan before turning over.
    Turn the pears over and continue glazing for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat but don't allow to cool too much.
    In a cold bowl add the powdered sugar, vanilla and cream. Whip until stiff peaks. Drizzle the caramel on a plate and place the pears cut side up. Top with the whipped cream and serve immediately. And as always, please enjoy.
