Pandemics have happened millions of times in history. To say that there will be another one at some point in the future is not being prophetic.
One of the reasons we never seem to have quality candidates to choose from (in my opinion)…. Is because the kind of people who WANT the position, is a completely different thing from the kind of people who would be good for the position.

Tanked our economy (and it STILL isn’t back on track to where it was), we were attacked on 9/11 and how no clue who our why, and got into a decades long war off the back of a lie. Obama came as a result of people wanting change from Bush, and Trump came as a result of wanting change from him. @@wespeakyournames7227 A lot of it goes to "news" networks(tv ads, etc), campaign items(ex. yard signs, posters, door hangers, buttons, t-shirts, phone banks), hotels for candidates and anyone who travels with them, travel expenses(flights, shuttles, rental cars), booking venues for events, meals, renting/leasing/fees for campaign offices and more. Depending on what the campaign is for(ex. state govt, President, Congress) some campaigns also get a planes and tour buses for the candidate and his/her team. I'd guess that the tv ads are one of the biggest expenses, esp in national campaigns that drag out for over a year before the _primaries_ have even begun.
Buying votes seems more like something the lobbyists do(ex. campaign contributions). If money was a reliable way to buy votes, candidates like the Starbuck's guy would be way more competitive. Money _does_ however, buy a campaign that can win elections vs one that only exists to make a symbolic statement.

Trump is a bit rude and brash at times, but he's never once jeopardized national security(unlike Clinton), and as long as he fills his cabinet with smart people, I think he will be a much better President than Clinton could ever be....or Obama for that matter.
