Thanks so much for this video! Your clear instructions and attention to detail saved me a ton of time and money. Really appreciate it! I do recommend removing the driver seat though, saved my back for sure. All the best!
Old cushions are your friend, Chris. I keep a stash for activities that don't involve walking or sitting in a chair. Saves the old knees & bones. 💖💖👍👍🕹🕹
Im very impressed with your video. You were very detailed in the explanation I was able to replace my 2014 souls blower motor. Without you, i would've been f'd . Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars in labor 😊
Followed the video step-by-step…thanks for the help! Hardest part for me was the electrical connector on the blower @12:53, Was sooo hard to get off (I too prayed a lot). Being left handed helped but still took me hours. But great video very helpful. God bless you, brother.
Thank you! Took me a little longer but still just a couple hours over Saturday and Sunday. Also gave me a chance to redo the wiring of my push to start kit.
Mine is a 2018 plus as well. With 120k and my blower just DIED GRRRR LOL!!! I am glad you made this video. I had to drop my dash for my Crown Vic to do the heater core. I don't want to do that again lol.
My Gawd! Whatever happened to Future AI and plug and play? Oh yeah, this is back 4-5 years ago. My next computer will probably be made by Frameworks, cars still have a hell of a way to go. In fact I think I'm going to check the bus schedules.
Thankfully I don't have to do this. I just filed a warranty claim with the dealer due to the white blend arm next to the blower snapped off. I had extended warranty and thankfully they're covering the repair. They have to replace the whole heater box assembly and it does appear that they will have to remove the dash, drain the coolant and re-load the AC. At the end of the day I will only have to pay $100.00 CDN and not the quoted $5300.OO CDN for the repair. Only draw back is the whole assembly has to come from Korea.
Yes it is on the passenger side behind the glove box take the entire glove box out and while you’re sitting in the passenger seat it will be to the left on the bottom of the blower motor housing assembly where the main air duct is it should be orange
@ChrisEdwardsRestoration got it pulled after work!! Replaced the resistor, still no blower function. Going to replace the blower tomorrow after work. Your video was a MASSIVE help. Most shops wanted to charge me anywhere from $1200-$1600 for labour....
My 2011 soul has been having weird ac issues for a few months. I've had to rev the car for the ac to get cold, if it idles the ac doesn't really blow cold. Changed the condenser fan and ac service twice and didn't fix it. Noticed ever since then the blower fan will like go up and down in room by it's self like it's loosing power, I can here it. Then the other day the blower fan just stops working but when I leave the car off for a bit and start it works again. Then yesterday the blower fan was working then it stopped after a few min and flew out white smoke. It still works some how keeps stopping intermittently, does this sound like the blower motor?
@WilliamAndress-m8x I'm not sure. But usually if someone figures out a easier way to do it, they fix that quick cause they don't want us fixing it ourselves.
I drive my car just about every day. SOMETHING has decided to make its way into where that fan is and start building a nest. Either that or the air filter buckled in on its self and let a bunch of dirt and gunk up there. I don’t have the patients to take all that out lol I’m not really a car guy. To the mechanic it is. But also yeah when I peaked into the little air filter in the glove box it was folded in on one side where the edge support is glued onto the accordion
I pulled and replaced the blower and the resistor, didn't plug everything rlse back in. Turned the car on and the new motor wasn't working. Do i need to plug in the rest if the wired again to connect the blower motor to the power?
LEARN HOW TO READ THE LABOR GUIDE. 7 HRS TO REMOVE THE HVAC HOUSING. 1.9 HRS TO REPLACE BLOWER MOTOR ASSEMBLY. READING IS FUNDAMENTAL, COMPREHENSION IS OPTIONAL.
Yes, it’s an expensive job but you can do it yourself in way less time for cheaper. They want to pull the entire dashboard assembly off, but you don’t need to if you removal few simple parts may seem like a lot, but it is simple.
you can do this with simple hand tools and a little contortion? No, just remove the front seat. It's only 4 bolts and two connectors easy to remove, then you don't need to become a snake.
@@ChrisEdwardsRestoration My bad. I'm guilty. My stupid Kia soul 2012 is another shit like that. Why they did this? Thank is still good. --- This is completely ridicule. this korean people have airhead.

“So start off with having the dirtiest floor possible!” Love this guy, doing gods work brother!
“The power of Christ compels you” … maybe that’s what I need to yell at it. That stupid clip almost has me in tears at this point.
Same here, can’t even find the damn clip so I can break it 😂
The stupid plug blocks that screw!!
My body feels all sore just watching you 🤣
I got a 2016 soul base 1.6 and this video saved me a whole lot of time and money. Thank you so much.

glad it helped, thats what its all about!!!
Dear Chris, thank you so much for your video on the Kia heater replacement. God Bless you and yours…..Michael
You are welcome. Happy to help.
After watching the video it reminded me why I left the Auto industry for the IT industry years ago. 🚗🖥👍🔨

Thak you. did it just like that. Worked out great
love the video "Pintz and AmigA" baby!!!
I'm not familiar with this model of Amiga.
Yes Ladies and Germs Chris Edwards fixes his cars while still in his pajamas.
Just like Jesus would.
Chris knows where Jesus lives.
So with the help of my friend we were able to replace the motor, but for some reason its really loud and sounds like a jet engine.
Really loud? Does it speed up and down? Did you forget to connect the tube in the front vent?
Wouldn't putting the nuts back on the brake booster after removing the brake pedal prevent it from being pushed through?
Can’t get the plug to come out of motor! Was making super, great time until I hit this snag!
Whatever you do do not get angry and cut it destroy the housing of the fan. If you have to use some pliers on it it will come free.
@ put new motor on and it still doesn’t work. Could there be another issue? Wiring harness maybe?
did you pop the fuse?
i tested my motor before i put it in
Dirty floor CHECK!!!
Arthritis CHECK!!! LOL!!!!
Wait so you have to use new screws when putting in the new motor? Also they didnt give me a new connector for my new motor.
Depending on the one you purchased, it would have an extension lead if they offset the plug you use your original screws
Thanks for this video
Excellent video! Very informative.
Only thing I would change is owning a Kia Soul.
I love that little car

Found it was easier removing the front seat. 4 bolts and 2 connectors
For what to get easier access under the dash?
So you can lay yur fat ace in the car.

Wow
Question... do you know where the blower motor resistor is located?
Yes it is on the passenger side behind the glove box take the entire glove box out and while you’re sitting in the passenger seat it will be to the left on the bottom of the blower motor housing assembly where the main air duct is it should be orange

Yeah and for 40 ish $$ and a few hours of your time you can fix it
I would vacuum first that floor, then remove front seat and then I will work easy without being a snake. ja,ja,ja
Yea the 2020 made sure you couldn't get it out that way. Gezzzz lol.
Is the 2020 in the same location??
@WilliamAndress-m8x I'm not sure. But usually if someone figures out a easier way to do it, they fix that quick cause they don't want us fixing it ourselves.
I can’t believe you drive a Kia I always thought you was a good old boy 😂
There’s a beat-up pickup on the grass next to it.
yeah i bought that new also in 2003. it has since been traded in on my hyundai. still have the kia, but shes getting up there in miles and problems
I changed my blower and my power steering not working any idea?
You forgot to plug something in
I drive my car just about every day. SOMETHING has decided to make its way into where that fan is and start building a nest. Does that happen on its own? Like it got old and weak when I put the air on full blast it just sucked in the edge. Can that happen?
Chris thanks a million your video
I pulled and replaced the blower and the resistor, didn't plug everything rlse back in. Turned the car on and the new motor wasn't working. Do i need to plug in the rest if the wired again to connect the blower motor to the power?
?? everything needs to be returned to its orig state
I did this and now my cruise control isn’t working, any ideas why?
I took everything back apart and found that I didn’t plug my brake pedal back in. That Fixed it if anyone else has the same issue.
Woops
Step #4 will shock you!

why spend 8.9 hours when you can do 20 mins
7 hours to remove the housing?? 😂😂 you’re right, you didn’t comprehend that removing the dash is the dumb way to do it…
Kia computers are stock Amiga 600s? Who knew?
i didnt take that box out, probably should have
Can a young broke woman with no mechanical experience accomplish this?
Yup anyone can its not hard just looks like it.
For technicians at the Dealer stealer will be 15 minutes because they know all the trick even stealing your money. ja,ja,ja
And this is why ill never own a kia. imagine signing off on this idea of burrowing the blower motor way back there
Now I see why the mechanic wants $1200 to do this
