I need to thank you. I got in my car late last night, coming home from work and the interior lights came on and wouldn't go off. I checked the users guide, no help there. I drove home and watched your video and was able to get it apart so my battery wouldn't die overnight.
Thanks and glad my video helped you! Did you find out why your light wouldn't turn off?
I have that same problem now
Great video "You Know"
Lol thanks!
Thank you so much! I thought my lights just didn’t work, turns out there weren’t any in there! But with your help, you made it possible to make this job so easy!
Lol wow surprised there weren't any in there! You're welcome glad my video helped you!
Thanks! I thought I had to pull that entire “box” down but didn’t want to break it if I was wrong! 🤣😜 It is impossible to just pull the bulbs out of the socket after taking the clear lens off. Lol Thanks for showing me the way!
Lol I hear you and sure thing!
Thank you very much chief I was curious bout this, my system bummed out 1 of the bulbs lol imma fix it right now lol
Sure thing glad I could help! I hear you gotta have some light in your car! Tell Shaggy I said hi!
I pried it open with a fork, it works good also you know what i'm saying!!!👍
Cool that worked then you can use your fork to eat some food after your accomplishment so that's a win win in my book. 👍
Nice! Do you guys have any clue if there is possible to turn the lights off while the door is open?
Dodge Ram is the only car Ive seen that feature built in the dimer.
thx for the video..is the housing from my 2005 the same like 2015 ?
Thanks glad you liked it. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same.
Is there an option to turn them off manually?
Super easy after watching this! Thank you
Yeah it is and glad I could help!
I have a 2007 Ford Mustang do you know where the fuse location is for the dome lights inside the car?
I think the fuse box in on the passenger side floor in front of door.
For anyone doing this on a 2017, BE CAREFUL. When I pulled down on mine, I ended up breaking it. The housing has plastic tabs on both sides that go into metal clips. The metal clips go into slots on the body of the car. It is VERY EASY to break those plastic tabs, as they will give a lot easier than the metal clips. I ended up having to buy a replacement on eBay. Word to the wise. Be cautious removing it.
The rest of the video was quite helpful.
Wow…i wonder if this is the same on a 2016 gt?
I did the same fooking thing. 🤦♂️ just my luck
Yep, broke mine last night
Just broke mine also. 😩
Great video - very clever and clear. Looking forward to more from Damien!
Grazie and I hope to continue to do more videos!
Thank you from Russia)))
Hey Damien, great video, what I'd like to know, do you know how I can disarm my daytime running lights on my 2006 mustang GT? I don't have the owners manual anymore and I don't like the headlights being on all the time. I'd appreciate your help, thanks.
Thanks glad you liked my video. I had a 2002 Firebird that had daytime running lights which I didn't like either plus bulbs will burn out quickly. There was no way to disarm them so I don't know if there's a way for the Mustang sorry. You can Google 2006 Mustang Owners Manual maybe.
Thanks for the reply. I went through Google and no info on disarming running lights and the dealer wants 1 hour minimum to do it for me. I guess I'll just have to keep having them on. Take bro and stay safe.
I hear you and there's probably no way to turn them off unless you disconnect them which a dealer or mechanic could. You'd think they'd just make a switch for them! You could take the bulbs out maybe if you wanted though.
Are you sure it works on any year mustang? I have a 2000 mustang and I’m afraid to pull down as I’m afraid it’ll snap and I’ll break it.
I think this should work on 2005 - 2019 Mustangs. 2000 might be made different.
Excelent vídeo! Thank you so much!
Thanks and sure thing!
🙂👍👍👌 saved me 20 bucks
Awesome glad I could help you save money!
I have a question so my lights turn on when I open the door but when I close it turns off and when I click the button nothing happens
Not sure. Maybe the bulbs are getting ready to burn out or there's something wrong with the buttons/connection inside if there was an impact to them. If it's both buttons/bulbs and it happened at the same time sounds unlikely though.
Thank you I have a 2012 but it looks the same
Sure thing and hope it works out for you! Be careful with newer models though!
@@RetroDayOfficial I was taking the cover off and I broke one of the clips so I had to find a way to keep it up.
Sorry to hear. So what did you do or how do you keep the cover up?
@@RetroDayOfficial I put some super glue on it
@@RetroDayOfficial at least I know that the leds well last a long time
excuse me where can i find the fuse that control the dome light?
The fuse box is on the passenger side near floor in front of door.
Thank you very much
Glad I could help.
All good in the hood!
Lol nice glad to hear. 👍
Very good demo 👌
Thanks glad you liked it!
como cancelo para q prendan cuando abro las puertas?
Thank you so much dear!!
Sure thing glad I could help!
Hi, do you know, which wire is hot?(12v) and which is ground?
Not sure sorry.
Right now I have a problem like that, let me try your ideas. I washed my car on that's a problem
You ever have an issue with the dome lights flickering and not wanting to stay on?
No but I've always had that issue with my truck light because the connection is loose. Maybe your Dome light is the same, or bulb needs to be replaced.
my lights stay on very dim and it drains my battery every time so I have to charge the car almost every time I wanna o out, I'm thinking of just disconnecting them
@@nickmelendez7752 That's weird and beat if you have to keep charging your battery. You made sure the switch dial is fully off? You could replace the dome and/or headlight switch units but the problem could still be wiring. Otherwise take out the bulbs.
I replaced with LED dome lights
Cool and I know a lot of people replace this bulb with LED. I actually prefer interior light to be a little dimmer for more privacy.
Best video thanks
Thanks glad you liked it!
Good video, thanks.
Sure thing glad you liked it!
I just bought a 2008 mustang gt and I installed new lights on the dome but it won't turn off
If bulbs are good and contacts are clean it might be a short. But you could get lucky and it's just a fuse.
@@RetroDayOfficial thanks I figured it out it was the instrumental panel dimmer if it's all the way up the lights stay on. sorry new to mustangs But thanks anyways. Hope this helps someone else.
Ohh ok gotcha! I originally thought you meant it won't turn on! Lol. Glad you figured it out and that's true when the dial is all the way up! Congrats on your first Mustang the 2008 is a great one to have!
@@RetroDayOfficial thank you it really is
Great video, very informative!
Starter Planet Thanks!
thank you very helpful!
Glad I could help!
I put my led map lights in but I noticed at night even when I turn them off they are still on . The very smallest light. ..how do I fix that? Won't it drain my battery overtime?
I'm guessing they're not made for your car or defect but maybe if you take them out and put them in the opposite way (back to front) they'll work. Yes it will drain your battery in time.
@@RetroDayOfficial they are polarized or w.e u call it so it doesn't work the opposite way .
@@RetroDayOfficial the brand is "Led parts now" on Amazon. Maybe I should try diode dynamics
Did you try Diode Dynamics? Any luck?
@@RetroDayOfficial hey thanks for your follow up yes Diode dynamics work perfectly!! 😄😌😌
Awesome
Thanks!
Thanks man I’m dropping a headliner on a 19 and it was tight so tight I doubted my instincts and thought a screw was hidden nope just ttiigghhtt
Lol sure thing and I hear you definitely tight the first time pulling it off! Good luck replacing your headliner!
That video was good to go, ya know?
Yeah I agree it was! Lol.
my buttons stopped working..
How about year 2020 it isnt that easy to pull it out from the headliner
Sorry I haven't seen the inside of a Mustang 2020. One day I'll probably get a newer Mustang although I'm still loving my 2008.
Haha, thanks for showing how to take that whole thing off, but did you know that you could just pull the plastic covers with a thin flat screw driver instead?
Sure thing! I could see it working with a screw driver but then you'd take a chance in tearing or ripping the headliner.
Hahahah thx man.
Sure thing glad you liked it!
u know??
How you doin' huh??
Wax on wax off
Avg. Joe Watch Reviews You know it Matthew son!
ya no
You can use a flashlight every day then. 🔦
@@RetroDayOfficialnah I was quoting what you was saying throughout the video lol😂 “ya know”
Lol ohh ok gotcha and cool! Ya know!?
I fucking broke mine
Map lights work but won’t shut off so had to pull connection out. Any suggestion on what maybe wrong
Someone else posted a similar problem recently. Do you have the interior wheel all the way up on the headlight switch panel? Also possibly you have the wrong bulbs installed.
@@RetroDayOfficial moved it all way down and up too no difference still always on
@@Heavy69Metal I’m facing the same issue in my 2005 the don’t turn off , It was working but today they decided stay on! I don’t know how to solve ! If you have some tip I thank you ! Regards from São Paulo Brazil !
@@williansilva734 nope had to disconnect it because it will not turn off
Replaced the bulbs but had to disconnect it because it would not shut off
