My god, this is what I had been looking for... Someone who fought this fight not by abusing parries or some particular repetitive weakness the boss has, but rather by skillfully dodging and attacking. Awesome work.
Ngl that was amazingly done, guy's a legend, but exploring the bosses weaknesses is what makes the game interesting, if you just dodge and hit, it makes every boss the same fight, which isn't cool, using fire and serrated weapons against beasts and bolt against kin, using bone marrow on cannon to get a parry on big bosses, those strategies that makes the game fun to me, sure I can hit and dodge for 5 minutes to defeat the boss, but it's not the same feeling
how did you learn the dodge timings for the charge attacks in phase 2 and 3? I feel like I always get caught by the weird timing and it usually results in a frustrating one hit kill
It's difficult but from what I remember there's a hint for each one. - Straight blood laser is dodge after she brings the sword close to her side. You can sorta see it at 2:11 maybe slow the vid down. - Overhead slam is dodge on reaction when it starts coming down. - For the horizontal slash I really don't know sorry, there might not be a tell. Just have to "feel it out" I guess.
@@fishy4275 for the horizontal slash, if you look carefully her sword starts to move when she is just about to slash so focus on the sword, once you see that it starts moving, dodge immediately.
this feels like a battle between a rich female elegant tsundere student council president in the most prestige high school vs the pervert main protagonist.
I feel like lady maria was a bit of a let down. I ended up spending most time in her phase 1 dying about 3 times before being able to enter phase 2. Then on my 4th try I went through phase 1 with ease and well her phase 2 and 3 where just such a little challenge, I just went through with 0 parries and only few dodges since side stepping is ridiculously effective in her fight
I think she's a decent challenge at bl4. Much easier than ludwig/orphan though. I'd say phase 1 is hardest because she can transform her weapon and use her gun, so there's more to deal with.
@@ottosan_ No not BL4, it was around BL70-80, but still, I think it took me more attempts to obtain the amygdala arm in the blood cave with the BSB and the gatlin gun hunter than beating Maria, so that‘s why it was a bit of a let down for me
The lore for the fight, the boss design, soundtrack and fighting mechanics are all fucking brilliant, and this is coming from the guy who got his ass handed to him 17 times.
So in phase 2 and 3 its not really worth trying to dodge and punish any attacks besides the charged slash and charged poke? A lot of her attacks in those phases seem really fast and sometimes even when I dodge the blood will hit me so I assume thats why its better to only attack the charged attacks
How do you get her to not run away from you on her first form? She always dodges after one hit, while you manage to tag her twice without her rolling, and even when I hit her two times she rolls right after. Great video btw
RoyUniverse So I can manually aim. Sometimes the only way to get a backstab is to unlock and free aim because of my position/angle. It's worth experimenting with free aim backstabs to see what you can pull off. I do the same thing when fighting Orphan, there's a vid of that fight on my channel as well.
