@@nicolasrodriguezbadala1024That is a bug that FromSoftware patched long ago. It happens when bosses with phase transitions are sent to second phase with debuffs. They are left with miniscule health afterwards.
Friede's grab attack somehow bypassed the "fix" placed by FromSoftware.

@@nicolasrodriguezbadala1024 that's actually playing it smart, if you're in a fight with more than one opponent, and KNOW that you are squisher of the two, best not get caught in-between and let the other two beefy meatheads at each other's throats, whittling down each other before engaging 'em.

I mean in her second phase she’s not actually at full hp when it starts, more than a quarter gone, but she can heal it back.

And that's what a Battle Royale fight is all about. Waiting for the right opportune moment to seize victory, by any means necessary. Fight smarter, not harder. Harder does not guarantee victory. But, first time? And besides, Friede barely did ANY significant damage here compared to both Malenia, and Maria. And Maria's health was buffed up to compensate not having any phases. Otherwise, she would've died a lot quicker.
I like how in every battle Royale scenario, Friede either hangs back and lets Maria solo Malenia, or actively teams up with Melania to kill Maria.
That's 'cus she smart. She knows the threat the other two women poses if she get caught in-between. Malenia is probably the kind who will inflate her ego before the start of the fight, instigating the fight, with Maria quickly taking offense, putting putting her in her place. Meanwhile, Friede sits back 'n watches the two ladies have at it before jumping in and showing the two ladies what a TRUE girlboss is like, Dark Souls style.
During her second phase she was assisted by Father Ariandel and she was less agressive during this phase is suppose she have the same behaviour with other npcs in the room, Friede is the most willing to attack during her third phase.
If only Maria had a second health bar to be just as tragically unfair with.
You can see that her HP is already much higher than the other 2. At the beginning of Fight 2 they all lose around 700 HP and Maria's HP bar decreases by about half of what Malenia's does, and less than Half of Friede's.
Since Friede only gets 2 phases instead of her normal 3, and Malenia's second phase starts with decreased HP, it means Maria already has more HP than both of them.
Which is weird because the stats on the wiki show that Malenia's first phase has 33k, while Maria only has 20k, so I Garden would have had to have tripled Maria's HP for this
Honestly it's bullshit he didn't give friede her phase with ariandel meanwhile Malenia gets both her phases
Nah... Friede's 2nd phase is by far her easiest and most passive. I don't think it would add much substance to a fight (unless it's really close) since she hardly uses melee attacks and just jumps around spamming the ice floor@@NeloBladeOfRanni
@godqueensadie problem is that Melenia and Freid both have transition animations that cannot be attacked, while Lady Maria is instead vulnerable.
Also her being so aggressive with one health bar means she ends up fighting both Melenia and Freid constantly even while one of the other's is transitioning to the next phase.
@dippykumar not to mention, they have entire health bars where they use their strongest attacks while Maria uses her strongest in the last like quarter of hers. Plus, she can be hurt during her transition into those attacks

If she wasn't nerfed, they would have a hard time even taking out her first health bar. She is also not as aggressive as she is ususally with players. Sister was about the same with players and im not sure about Maria. Still awesome fight.

The only 3 female bosses that fucks us all, and not in the way that everyone would like, unfortunately, in one room? I wasted three weeks on Friede, two on Maria, and 5 or something on Malenia. What happened to Malenia's health in the first duo battle? She came in as Goddess of Rot with like 5 health. EDIT: And in the final phase fight Friede didn't have any Blackflame? What happened?

The first thing was because the round ended with her with a grab attack, so it bugged her out. As for the second one, she did use Blackflame actually
There's a bug where if you manage to start her phase 2 by bringing her to zero health using a status effect or riposte, she'll start phase 2 with 1 hp.
Normally you can't kill phase 1 Malenia with grabs and such. Only normal attacks do. But Friede's grab attack did so that's why it happened.
@@Vi-Six I got that to happen once by trading with her grab attack. She ended up skipping the Scarlet Aeonia and instead started phase 2 by continuing the grab animation but with like 10 health.
It'd be awesome if they could somehow add Laxasia from Lies of P.
I know she's not a Fromsoftware boss but she just fits in so well with the rest of these waifu bosses.

It always surprises me how DS3 and BB fans cry so much even though the bosses have many advantages to make them interesting. The reality is that the bosses in later games will simply be better, it will happen to Malenia when DLC or another future FS game comes out.

Imagine being Malenia and getting robbed of your most important ability and realizing that people think it´s perfectly fine and fair to take your lifesteal away. She is the only one who get´s constantly nerfed in this videos to make it entertaining. That says alot about her power.

while it is true she is nerfed, there would be no point to the video if it were left in. she would win 100% of the time. that ability is too broken, especially with multiple opponents. it doesn't say a lot about her power. give any boss that ability and their difficulty spikes (as long as you are fighting them level appropriate). its a BS ability that she should have never had. taking it away makes it more fair, giving it to her just makes this a Malenia slaughter fest. its manageble for players because we can think and dodge and make plans around it, the AI clearly isn't going to do that. Maria is way too aggressive and would just feed her HP constantly. the very fact that she needs to be nerfed to make the videos entertaining says everything that needs to be said about how broken and unfair that ability is. clearly, she is plenty strong even with out it. she is able to go toe to toe with the leading ladies of the other from soft games.
She is a literal cancer build. Like she literally infects you with cancer and then gets long reach and lifesteal on top of that.

I get it people complaint about Maria doesn't have extra 2nd health was unfair but she's already got buffed, her max health more than Friede and Malenia. She also had power up when she's half health that already boost her stats and strength.
Yeah, the thing is that Maria is from a game that favours a way more aggressive playstile and faster movement in general than the other two resulting in overshooting her attacks etc. That a important part of her kit did not work didn't make it better. Similar problems for Friede. Melania also had important parts of her kit missing to balance it at least a little. In the end both worked quiet good for that. Videos like this are a nice to watch but thats it. Its just for fun and no accurate methode of power testing.

Man if Maria actually had bleed and Friede actually had frost of thier weapons, Malenia would be done for, I know she has rot but that big chunk of dmg cannot be outmached by dmg over time. Also I miss Emma and her Gentle blade, she would have been a perfect addition: she's a great waifu, has a waifu weapon, she's really fast and has those cool moves, we could have gotten a waifu duo vs waifu duo :( great vid tho keep up the good work man love ya
In fact, Malenia's biggest weaknesses are Bleeding and Freezing, Maria and Friede use those skills, if GOY had applied them with that, Malenia would be finished.

I think it has to do with the frost status as she goes into her 2nd phase, it’s a glitch.
If she gets grabbed or grabs someone her health bugs out
I feel like for all the fights' variations, not having a _single_ showcase of Malenia with her lifesteal still functional and the other two not arbitrarily immune to Scarlet Rot totally misses the core of the Malenia experience, even if she still wins a lot of the fights.
Like, sure turn them off so that you can get some more interesting fights out ofnthe matchups, but at _least_ show Malenia at her _actual_ in-game power *ONCE.*

Instead, you just listed off all the reasons that everyone already knows for why this channel always pits the _primary matchups_ in configurations that nerf all of Malenia's key abilities in order to showcase all the different attacks weaving around and through each other. *No one was saying not to do that, **_and I even explicitly stated why it makes sense to do that for the majority of them._*
You didn't list even a single reason why there shouldn't be *_at least ONE BATTLE_* actually showing Malenia with all her mechanics intact - _which is what I was clearly talking about._

I don't watch these to see which of the bosses has the biggest dick damage numbers, I wanna see how their movesets deal with the other's. How a slower, tankier boss might handle a faster boss, or how a ranged caster might deal with a high mobility duelist-type of boss.
DPS race? Ew. If I wanted to see big numbers, I'd just smack the ankles of some golems until I hit them five digits.

Her entire moveset is based around her slow, quiet walking or moving in the air so that she can hear the opponent, and then shifting into immediate & aggressive dashing attacks. Her life-stealing is because her sword techniques are meant to react to an oncoming attack and disrupt the opponent, while ensuring her enemies don't have the luxury to guard or fight passively to wear her down - they have to beat her by being better.
This is why she regains her strength from combat any time she lands a blow, because she has never been defeated and gets more invigorated by challenge that could actually move her from her position of power - as mastery of her sword technique are about constant movement & evolution of which she is no longer capable because she has no opponent able to push her to continue to develop further.
When you're at the very top, there's nowhere else to go. That peak turns into stagnation and rot, and she embraces that as a weapon to remain powerful when she might be defeated. She has been fully consumed by decaying at the very top. That's why, in order to overcome Malenia's challenge, you have to beat ALL the things that fundamentally define her character so that they won't take hold of you.
They are just as much a part of Malenia's character as the mod's adapted status effects of Lady Maria's burning Accursed Bloodflame and Hemorrhage from her own Cainhurst lineage mirroring the Omens' link to the Formless Mother in The Lands Between. If anything, Lady Maria should have Malenia's same lifesteal given that Malenia's Great Rune enables the exact same type of healing granted in *_Bloodborne_* to the player character - and she doesn't have an ability to make use of the Stagger & Critical with her Visceral attacks.
Sister Friede seizing a mere spark of the First Flame being the Blackflame just like the fragment of power the Godskins wield of the Rune of Death became the heavy Blackflame in The Lands Between clinging and burning away at the life force itself. Friede's devotion to the Age of Dark even after being burned and retreating into the Painted World with her Frostbite status effects communicates that same cold.
There are design, thematic, AND gameplay reasons for the implementation of status effects on the bosses that have them in the core game, and in their respective games, just as there are for looking at how to bring in those other games' bosses to *_Elden Ring_* with mods.
Essentially, pitting them all against one another is spectacular but it makes sense to have *_JUST. ONE. SINGLE. FIGHT._* that shows them ALL as they truly are. It'll be so short, the people not interested in it likely won't even have time to be bothered by it, because there's no question who the strongest is among them.

I don't need a lore breakdown to know how much of a HUGE game changer that is for Melania in literally ANY competent boss fight, gameplay wise. But Melania, NOT broken lol? PLEASE, tell me you're trolling. 😑 Like, I couldn't care less if the Goddess of Sh*t has mastered the art of chopping Tarnishes like slicing through a brick of gold Elden Ring butter. No one is impressed. And that's NOT what the majority of people came here to see. Let alone the POINT of these boss fights. Nobody came here to watch Melania's ret*rded display of strength with the way of the sword, or whatever bs powers she has accurately depicted in lore within a GAMEPLAY setting. People came here to see a FAIR FIGHT between bosses to see how well they interact with each other when compared to their respective in-game universes. But the reason why I said it's unrealistic (for a lack of better wording), is because if you're gonna argue for Melania to have her lifesteal ability, even if it's for a SINGLE fight, then you have to apply the same argument for the OTHER two bosses Melania has to face. And that includes giving Maria her gun, and parrying skills in BB, and Sister Friede's 1st phase (not counting base) with Ariandel (but have him do nothing, because he's useless anyway) to make it an evenly fair fight where all characters are at their peak, while still keeping the audience satisfied. Because as your intial argument suggest, you wanted to see Melania display her wack a** powers at her peak, then you have to literally do the same for the other two ladies in this fight as well. But no. You're only vouching for Melania, and ONLY her to have her lifesteal ability (which technically isn't even something she should've had, lorewise), simply because she's your favorite. Which again, goes back to me saying that it's unrealistically impossible to do without favoring Melania, and not compensating for the others, GAMEPLAY wise. And that's the story as to why we see Melania got nerfed here. Because she is already strong with lifesteal, when the other two literally don't even have access to their OWN CORE GIMMICKS for this fight for you to even be wanking up Melania in her having lifesteal ability in the first place. But bravo for making a pointless wall-of-text in bad faith that goes to show that Melania is literally NOTHING without a cheap gimmick when faced against Maria, and Sister Friede without any respective gimmicks of their own.
