It allows full unrestricted access to movement (she can spawn her gem weapons from any part of her body) and that she is a nonconformist (she appreciates being a trendsetter) so it struck me that her outfit is more of a bold statement than something she expects others to 1:1 imitate.
9:50 i guess its all down to how easy it is for her to move with those clothes rather than be a full blown noble dress. while it can conceal weapons, it isnt exactly built for mobility especially how fast her moveset animations are.
Thank you for the carlotta character dissection session, it is very detailed showing the design dedication, game development work, hope you also dissect echoes like a, Lorelei, Hecate, and Elysia Cantatrice (for Elysia Cantatrice I searched the world but couldn't find her she was only on the echoes ship Brant during the peak performance), this game not only made me interested in the characters, but all aspects are so crazy, even Echoes are not just ordinary monsters in this game, all the elements are so complex

You would think an alteration that costs money is not an issue but thats not why. When you visit the mask lady, she tells you about a particular mask that required like 40 revisions. If you have ever been commissioned to do things, youll know revisions are a thing, but to have that many, even tho they gladly paid for that extra work, is still hell and even bs at times as a creator. ironically enough despite not ever seeing what this mask maker looks like, her voice clearly tells she was very exhausted and wanted to be done with the thing. I get the feeling carlotta is someone who respects the original design of the outfit enough that if a minor cut could be made while preserving the rest, would be better than changing it outright. To both respect for the seamstress (artist) and the dress (the art piece). Theirs 2 mindsets to this idea. 1 alterations made during the creation of the piece are fine, once the piece is complete, you cannot alter it any furthur as the creator deemed it as complete. or 2 even if a piece is complete, an alteration can be made to correct any issues that may have been overlooked. Neither is wrong and have their own justification on those outlooks. This is more telling when she speaks about art or specific pieces that she fancys but that is just my own headcannon.
Fun fact: the color scheme of carlotta is the exact reverse of Danjin's color schemes from head to dress. Danjin also have a necklace with shade of blue similar to Carlotta's gems.
As a whole i really like Carlotta's outfit, but trying to examine it closely gives me a headache because i just can't figure out how it works, and after watching this video, i still can't. It's definitely a vibe/feel design more than a logical one her clothes.
I was honestly surprised with her Ahoge hair style since most characters that get them are usually depicted as silly or aloof, but somehow Lotta's makes her look "elegant?" Like it shows her that although she has to fill in the shoes as one of the big wigs of the Montelli it shows that she is still young still.

I think I might have an idea ast to why some objects on some of the models seem to hover(example 7:40). Since a lot of consistent bending motions, and potentially distortion, takes place at the mid-torso/waist area in the game(running, jumping, fashin show runway-like walk, etc.), I'd guess its to prevent clipping. This way the animators don't have to worry about it doing weird things like bending abnormally, stretching, and going into the model. That would be my guess at least, as someone who took a few college animation classes in the past. 🤔

if they had made a flatter model it would lose quality and the feeling of “layers” of quality that Kuro has us used to and it would become a flat design of only low cost patterns as in Genshin or HSR, I prefer details that provide consistency to the model, even if they are “detached or floating by mm”.

I'm surprised with the layers of details we effectively cannot see unless we look for them. But I'll be honest, I don't quite get what Kuro was going for with Carlotta. It seems like her base design is meant to evoke the image of a sheltered little princess, with the simple white dress symbolizing purity and innocence. But then, someone was seemingly hellbent on combining mafia clothing with some sort of witch or demon style, particularly the "ribcage". And I don't understand why so little was left of those mafia inspirations. She still has the leather gloves, the extravagant inner lining, and the stiffened shoulders, but that's barely a skeleton of a mafia coat, and it's buried under a visual style that just doesn't make sense to me. I'm not saying I don't like her design, because I do, I just don't get the idea behind it, or how it fits her character or her role in the story.
Eye overlay is usualy in another folder and seperate. Since it sometimes comes with more than one type. (like making eyes green when normal, but red when in ultimate)
You can, but you will have to change files in game and replace model (tho i dont recomend doing this for main game ... better keep it on something like mmd or similar).

Don't even felt even bit of "Fanservice" looking at her, because of how hidden the stuff that was supposed to be a Fanservice aka her back, they definitely took some inspiration from design of Nero Dress from Fate Series, and sure skirt is very short you can see her underwear, but not even that sexy etc because of how it looks like a bloomer/short shorts etc censorship censorship. I wish they just made her backhair a pony tail would have been better, but they gotta needed to make her felt like a Rich Lady and made her wear a typical hairstyle of rich lady in every anime lel, tie the hair near the ear with ribbons through the back to show the ear with earrings etc,hair down etc.
