Thanks a ton! I searched “cheap and easy diy sound booth” and this came up. But not after an ad for a very expensive 6 person sound proof booth. At least the algorithm brought me to this video because I need to start recording my audiobook this weekend. Thanks again!!
Yeah the algorithm is a mysterious beast. Glad this was helpful. One change I have upgraded is to contain it in a plastic bin with a lid, that way when I’m done it’s much easier to store away.
Burke: Before anyone writes in the comments-- Yes it is a box from Amazon. No Amazon is not one of my sponsors. But Amazon, if you want to sponsor me... hey ;) *smooth. very smooth.* again, great video! delighted to see more uploads, and it was interesting to see you cover diy content. since the diy topic has a lot of popularity on youtube and sometimes those tutorials are too good to come true... which is probably why a wide majority of them are scams-- but it's really refreshing to see a genuinely made and well-executed tutorial. besides the video, I still find it pretty admirable on how well you manage time in producing content on UA-cam while juggling teacher and family priorities. hope to see more!

Andrew, I am 61 with extensive osteoarthritis in my back. I have a lot of plants in large pots and 2-3 times a year we get freezes in Houston and I have to bring the pots inside. Is there any good wheels to install on a surface and put under the pots to make moving them easier? It has to be easy to slide the pot on to it. Next is how to get rid of squirrels who eat all the fruit of my potted trees leaving absolutely nothing left for me. Thank you!
Hi! yes, I can try to help with both issues as I've had to deal with them in my own life as well. First for the plants, I use these. these quality is wonderful and being that they are adjustable, they fit almost all of my plants. I move my indoor plants around all the time and these adjustable plant caddies make it amazingly simple amzn.to/4a9rn1z as for the squirrels, I'm happy to say I figured that one out 2 years ago. I use these ribbons. cut them into 2 foot long lengths and tie them all over the fruit trees. since i started this on my fig trees 2 years ago i've had no problem with squirrels or birds, both of which used to be a major issue. the animals mistake the ribbon for snakes and stay far away. amzn.to/3UyfHje I hope this helps!
I’m in awe that you still remember me! I’m great actually My Sister is currently in your class (Emily). I’m in College working on my bachelors in Psychology! I’m glad I got the opportunity to see you again, love the channel!
Lewis Zuniga I’m so glad you Like it! Psychology?!?! Niiiice! What’s the Plan? Open your own practice some day? I’ve lost touch with most of your graduating class, it if you’re still in touch with them, please let them know about it too!
Yeah I’m planning to open up with the money I’m saving currently working in an office job. so hopefully within the next 4-5 years the Dream becomes reality and I’m in contact with a few and I’ll definitely be telling them to subscribe!
Interesting build, I would however like to touch on something you said. While you're in front of the booth you should wear a T-shirt or something that does not make noise, but this is only used so that you, yourself do not make any sound. you should get a sheet, or blanket and hang it behind you this way you'll really stop the reflection from behind you, I would recommend you use more than one material for this, due to this being the open space it needs to be more deaden.
I love how you used that rotating stand idea you should use it for often like at 3:33 and 3:58. Oh yea and I loved thee title card and the end card of the video keep up the good work Mr.Burke!
For those wondering how this sound booth works... Soft surfaces absorbs sounds such as background noises and echoes. This allows your voice to be the center of the attention and block annoying background noises! Wow, so sciency. JK, it's just something attained from science class. I am very bad at being sarcastic...
Hey Mr.Burke just had an idea pop in my head suddenly. What if you made like a gaming contraption for your kid. You know how like there's rubix cube's? Maybe you could make one but put a little Burke spin on it!
Can you give advice on how to manage time? DIY managing time, since I wonder how you can make these videos even with a busy schedule, plus I'm terrible at that.
its kind of easy actually, and the ideas behind it isn't mine, its from a UA-camr named Gary Vaynerchuck. We all have 24 hours in our day. we waste soooooooooooo much of that on garbage like tv, video games, complaining...etc. USE every second. that's literally it. if you are passionate about something, you will make the time. what do you think?
Thank man! I came home to a package waiting for me, new wireless microphones! yaaay! Any ides about what I can do about lighting? let me know your thoughts!
@@BurkeMakesStuff try making a stand to re center the direction of the light, depending on where you want the light to put direction into and how bright you want a certain area to be, and you need to find a way to provide efficient light to place on the light stand, this stand may greatly enhance the lighting of your videos, just an idea you may want to do!
if you think about it, one bad grade wouldn't really define your entire experience in the class. you might get bummed for a bit, sure, but don't let it downplay the rest of the year. even if monologues are over, you may still have a lot to look forward to! just have fun, put in the effort, and you'll have a good time in theatre either way.
lol! Is that the only one you caught? I filmed this over 2 weeks, so clothing changes, tools move, half the shop disappears, even! I took down all the stuff off the wall! lol. don't worry, it'll get more stable as the shop gets finalized.....eventually. Any ideas for future videos? maybe a shop build one? what do you think?
