12 Shaw A Journalist's Heartfelt Motiviation about Community

Renee Shaw is a journalist with Kentucky Educational Television. This interview took place on December 14, 2018 as part of the Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame Oral History Project, Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History and University of Kentucky Libraries.
She discusses how reporters focusing on their careers and their next opportunity means that they do not focus on the community they are currently living in. This leads to a disconnect between media and the people. Shaw talks about her legacy, especially as a woman without children, and how the children she mentors and her work as a public servant are her legacy.
