Thanks Adam! Tesla actually called me the day after I recorded this to ask if I wanted the car THAT WEEK (end of quarter and all that). Gutted that it was too short notice for me to say yes at the time, so I’m hoping for a July/August collection date!
Great explanatory video! I was just reviewing the trade-in process on the website. Glad I watched this before hand, will be using your referral code :) The financing calculations not being detailed prior to ordering with a trade-in is annoying. Would love to know roughly what monthly payments are.
@@stirry22 Thanks- happy to share more. If you watched my Tesla collection vid from last month…I ended up totally changing my order (no trade in, took a cancellation in the end), so the numbers are different from what they would have been. Are you thinking of leasing too?
I'm thinking of following this process, but now i'm confused because the PCH is an estimate... argh! did your personal offer come close to what's advertised or is it just a hook and then the actual offer is significantly more?

@@ThatMarkGilroy I am going for a Model Y, but I think I will lease it for 4 years and then get something else. Sell my car privately as I need to know exactly what I am going to get to plan properly.
@@taz2392 Yep, I ended up selling mine privately in the end and got almost 3x what Tesla were offering as a part ex value. Made the end transaction much easier. Used car prices are insane at the moment!
It was definitely a bit 'quirky'! I ditched the part ex in the end as I found a better deal elsewhere. Hope you enjoy your Tesla when it arrives - you're almost half way there!
Great video and well explained. I just purchased a new lease and waiting for delivery, when trying to upload my photos for the trade it I couldn’t do it, I called Tesla and they said no trade in is available when buying via a lease, only other options like buying PCP or Tesla loan. I was a bit shocked as the local Tesla dealer said I could and I’d based my deposit on my lease on my current car equity. I then called Mercedes to see if they would buy my Mercedes car and they offered even more. Pleased with the final outcome but it was all a bit confusing on Teslas behalf. Worth checking all the option, Tesla trade in / Webuyanycar / dealers

I don’t know if you spotted my delivery day video but in that I talk about why I ended up cancelling our trade in after finding a much better deal elsewhere. It’ll feel like a long wait for your delivery date to come round but I promise it’s worth it!!
I’m in the same, potentially ordering this week, i have a Merc to get rid off in the process. I think i might order the Tesla then try to sell the merc separately
Would 100% recommend this approach Tom. You’ll be able to get a much better deal and unlike Tesla’s trade in prices, you should be able to negotiate an even better price if you can find multiple dealers interested in your Merc.
You have to stipulate how you’re going to finance it straight away but the actual paperwork is signed much nearer the delivery date. I signed mine literally 5mins before collection 😊
Hi. Is it the case that Tesla will return any outstanding amount? Let´s say if I’m having 10k on positive equity and I’m putting a downpayment of 6k, will Tesla give bank the remaining balance?
Hi Leandro- yes, technically that’s how it’ll work. But I can’t emphasise enough to shop around for your trade in value. I managed to get £6K MORE than Tesla were offering as my trade in value so the equity equation was stacked against me from the start.
@@ThatMarkGilroy in my case their offer was really great. In fact 3 weeks after placing my Tesla 3 order the trade-in value went up nearly 2k which was a surprise. I’m currently waiting for a delivery date that is supposed to happen this month. Thank you for your help

Be warned do not buy a Tesla the company’s after service is disgraceful, my car has been sat on my drive since February due to Part shortages and all Tesla has said is it is out of their control. Terrible customer service, do yourself a favour and stay away from this company.

So confusing ordering through Tesla Direct. I just went with a lease through ZenAuto. 12 week delivery time, only 7 weeks left to go lol
