@@Ozzymandias493adult swim gave the animators a choice between canceling the show or keep making it on a tiny budget because they hated how much money they used in the first episode
@@murilo7623it takes longer but claymation is also way more expensive than animation, for claymation you need a studio and a lot of specific niche specialists. For anime, do you know how many anime universities they have in Tokyo alone? Anime is relatively "cheap" in Japan. It entirely depends on how you use your medium. Plus, when making an anime, you (typicall) want to eb faithful to the mangaka's style, which is extremely difficult to do with Clay which has lots of limitations.

this took what, 1/100th of the time the adaptation did (not sure, say a few months of work vs 5 years), but since the creators were actually being supported it was pulled off 200x better lmao
The fact this was better at displaying the horror and story than the freaking anime is insanity. I didnt watch the series when it dropped and was so upset I missed it, until I saw clips on tiktok and youtube. Ito-san cant get one decent adaptation for this or some of his other work. Claymation and stop motion could probably do it justice.
Uzumaki in claymation somehow fits really well. I’ve always thought we needed more animation in horror, and stop motion/claymation is really good at the uncanny valley, so it’s a match made in heaven
The fact that this is not only done in stop motion but it’s also in clay is phenomenal! This is a master piece and touches on every aspect of the show! 🎉
y'know Uzamaki and horror claymation being together could make sense tbh. I mean have y'all seen the horrifying stuff that was made with clay, the scariest one in my opinion has to be those angry bird zombies claymations
This animation gave Uzumaki more justice than the actual anime could deliver.
Yeeeeh😅
Episode 1 was great, I wish they had the same budget for the rest or at least proper budget management

It's a good idea, unfortunately Stop Motion animation is very expensive and above all it takes much more time to produce.
@@Jonathan_Gmes is not that expensive, the downside about stop motion is that it's time consuming.

Maybe horror anime should go the claymation route, clearly it’s better for instilling terror than traditional animation.
Erm
No?
The only probkem is it is way more expensive and time consuming than digital animation.
hell no
Attack on Titan had some great horror scenes. You know, back before everything.

The irony of this having better quality than the money laundering that was episodes 2-4
I am SO in love with Junjis stories, lovely work, bravo!!
Junji Itto's horror collection scares me in any form..
If uzumaki was a stop motion movie I probably wouldn't sleep for a week

Hey, that's like Junji Ito's artwork. Cool. So, are you guys doing a show based on his manga?

Love it it's like watching The Shivering Truth, & Uzumaki in the same video.
This is so good! The story beats were clearly shown! Amazing work ❤

It took 5 years to make. It turned out like that due to factors such as COVID-19 and the merger between Warner Bros. and Discovery Inc.
This was literally better than episode 2 and onward.
Technically and esthetically brilliant. Utterly mesmerising. 🥂
