  • This video contains spoilers.
Sometimes when making a video I realize that the director’s voice is the most powerful narration I can include. It first happened with my Portrait of a Lady on Fire video, and in this case I saw how great The Daniels are at sharing their thought process and filmmaking techniques. These types of videos are often more challenging since I need to splice together a bunch of interviews into something cohesive, but I like throwing them into the mix of my usual video essays.
"An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save what’s important to her by connecting with the lives she could have led in other universes."
None of the music or footage used in this video belongs to me.

I watched this film and I felt utterly seen. I cried for a good few hours after… I can't explain just how much this film related to me... my relationship with my mother, my dad, life in general.... safe to say I felt everything everywhere all at once. Honestly, best film I've seen to date.
