I hope this game proves me wrong, that it can survive and be relevant for longer than a year. But man... There's only so much optimism I can have for these kinds of games that try to be the next big Asym horror online game. @@KTV.edits_and_letsplays Ok 90% is a massive over exaggeration. Second, Dead By Daylight regularly adds new content chapters/paragraphs every few months. 12 to 15$ getting you a new killer, map, and survivor on average, with powers and perks designed as faithfully to the source material as possible. Dbd also works regularly to fix balancing issues or rework characters. They may not always get it right but, they are trying and try to listen to the community. @@thomasgibbons3226 TCM devs was fixing troubles of the game after release and adding FREE skins. And yeah, that 15$ exclusive skin for Bubba. But TCM only begining to rise, while dbd is already rised. And yes, TCM devs have some limits at franchise, that why new character's is coming out pretty rare-they are trying make it cannon. For example: all characters in game are sometimes speaking some phrases. And every character speaks different thinks to different people. Cool i can buy one new character for 10$ in Tcm. Or can use roughly that same amount of money to get a new survivor, map, and killer. Limiting it only to the 70s movie of tcm and not considering the other versions meant you could only really go so far with content and the games longevity. That in particular has me worried for killer klowns. Its a so bad good movie i want to see. However, its very niche and obscure. I think TCM has merit as an authentic horror experience, sweatlords and meta aside it adapts the source material into gameplay exceptionally well and adds quite a bit based on characters and plot points that Kim Henkel had scrapped from the original early on. Dead By Daylight is very much the Fortnite of horror games, too big to fail and capable of using brand recognition to lure in a large audience, but hardly something that would elicit a sense of immersion or terror from the average player. Same logic with how McDonald's will always be bigger than Five Guys despite the latter offering a more authentic and satisfying product.
Still crazy that Texas chainsaw massacre hasn't added a ping system yet. There's so many people that refuse to use a mic for whatever their reason is and it ruins the experience being unable to communicate in such a team orientated game. Instead of adding things that could help the game they keep catering to and adding shitty cosmetics that thirsty weirdos on reddit keep asking for such as shirtless Johnny.
It really does seem they are trying to make a nice game, not one that focus on the competitive side of an asym game but just a fun game. Imo if a game is always fun to play then i can handle some op stuff being present. While some Humans do seem pretty strong i think it's a bit of an Evil Dead situation, if the Human isn't using the right weapon and build they might very well just be fodder so judging from the limited info we have as of now it doesn't seem so concerning. Plus it's still a 3v7 so if the Klowns decide ok this Human is too strong and we should look for others then there will be a time where that Strong Human will be outmached by the progress the Klowns can get with other players. Plus who knows maybe that strong stuff Humans can have is just a 1 time use to guarantee a 1 time escape. We have to hope that the devs do keep the strength of these plays in mind. Above all it just looks fun, i wish we'd have seen a bit more open out brawling between multiple Humans and Klowns cause so far it seems to be pretty isolated like a triple match of F13 happening at once, hopefuly there will be plenty of moments where everyone just meets up for a big fight, that should be pretty sick.
I love TCM specifically because it aims to be fairly grounded and immersive in its presentation, apart from all the supernatural elements and the times we all party at the exits as victims with Hitch and Sissy. People are so negative about wanting the game to fail, and act like the devs ran their grandma over but I think it'll turn out alright for how small the team is.
