Wow! This thing is mind blowing! My Siege Jetfire arrived in the mail yesterday. I’m going to keep him in the box along with a bunch of my other recent Hasbro mainline purchases. I have Newage’s cartoon version of Skyfire. I also have Classics and Thrilling 30 Jetfire too. I’m it sure if I’m going to pick this guy up. He looks amazing, but I’m really focusing on Newage Legends Scale figures nowadays.
Great review Russ! This one is pretty epic. I think takara mps are making a fantastic comeback lately. Build quality, aesthetic, articulation, deco, engineering, accessories, this one has it all.
@@ToysareRuss i definitely have one as it was too epic to miss out on, and i can see it getting some serious after market price hiking as its unlikely to be released again. I've not had the opportunity to transform mine yet as im still just beholding that amazing alt mode and playing around with the mini figures 😃
Love the review and I hope that they make more of the mini bots, you could always use the arms while in Gerwalk mode to make Skyfire more Veritech like👍
@@ToysareRuss maybe in the future Takara will update him with better landing gear so he can be properly shown without them folding in on display in jet mode👍
That gadget Wheeljack is holding is probably the gizmo that he used to undo Megatron's mind control in part three of The Ultimate Doom episodes..he used it whilst hanging out of Skyfire.
Thank you so much for that that is one of my top three figures and I wished I had him I've Got The Siege but your channel is just so awesome oh my goodness
That’s massive, I wouldn’t have a spot for someone that big but amazing figure and very good review. I’ll stick with my deluxes and cores though for space saving. My Thundercracker just arrived today which you reviewed him as well. Very nice bot for a core class.
congratulations russ thats very great amazing awesome review ultra rare takara masterpiece complete collection figurine skyfire autobot transformers g1 thank you russ have a great week god bless 🤘🎸
I did not appreciate how truly massive this MP is. The Siege version is big, but this guy is on another level. The mini figures are a very nice touch. I expect eBay will be littered with FT Phoenix now the official MP is here.
Seems the mega video project is finished! This looks phenomenal. I think I’m guilty of saying that a lot too but I really mean it! Even has the Gerwalk mode and the Optimus, Wheeljack and Jazz figures are a great addition. It’s gigantic!
Looks totally amazing. Mini Jazz seems to be accurate to the show when he was on Jetfire when he was in his jet mode. The accessories look better with the figure. I didn’t even know there was an included stand 👍
Nice! I got my MP57 for 225 USD - amazing MP figure, love the hypertoon direction Takara is taking. As much as the Takara hecklers mock them, the irony is that 3P are increasingly going for toon style too.
Magic Square's version is the one I'm eyeing for and he only costs $60, but not on a masterpiece scale. I like this one, but for the $280 price tag, I would rather purchase a combiner set or the Newage Omega Supreme. Every person can be different. I'm the type that scale size doesn't matter, as just having as close to Cartoon accurate as possible and within reasonable price.
I got mine from TFSource, and he came without the outer packaging. That was the day I learned the hard way that TFSource ships Masterpieces without the outer boxes, and I do not know why.
That is a awesome figure. I would love to get one if I had the extra money. Is it a official licensed Transformer figure? Looks like it is. Even the mini figures look awesome.
February was when...BBTS always seems to have issues on their preorders and the last to get their products..other than that they are a good company to deal with..I'd get it somewhere else if I didn't all ready leave a deposit..
This was quite a surreal experience lol. Even after watching the vid, still on the fence as to whether he's worth getting? (Worth getting as I have Fanstoys Phoenix - if I didn't then this would be easy to say yes to). I ended up putting a pic of MP Skyfire and a pic of Fanstoys Phoenix either side of a pic of Skyfire from the G1 cartoon....You know... neither are perfect? MP's body shape is more accurate, but the panel sizes are wrong, the chest vent's on MP are too deep, Phoenix is about right, but the shape is wrong. Phoenix's wings stick up more than MP's which they should but both sit further away from the central column on the back pack closer to the shoulders. MPs forearms look wrong, too shaped, not square enough, Phoenix looks to squared for the forearms. Just everywhere I look, one is either correct where the other is wrong or visa versa, or both are off just being too much one way or another? etc etc etc. Let me be clear... I am being very VERY picky on these points and all are about cartoon accuracy. But I need to be picky because I have Phoenix and MP is expensive and in the current climate can't just throw the lion's share of £300 on a duplicate figure. I guess my conclusion is both are good from certain perspectives, both are not perfect to the cartoon accuracy. If you don't have either, you have a choice based on desire or budget. For me, perhaps it's about waiting till the climate financially calms more, then pick one up, because I don't intend nor want to sell Phoenix.
All great points. However I think the MP will only go up in value as I was speaking to Phil at robot recruits and he is under the impression it will only be a limited run.
I always loved how they scale and size alter massively - was that ever addressed in lore? Is it a thing or do we just accept it. BTW I love the sound of the plastic as you hold it. Really great quality.
I think back in the G1 days it never mattered as the toys were there first and obviously they made cartoons afterwards. Where as now they try to scale everything and it makes it better

It is nuts. This is and could just be a stand alone display piece. It’s stunning and definitely big enough to be too.
Same with the Newage collecting..just couldn't pass this up..one of my favorite characters and figures from childhood..
