There was only 5 people remaining (Horyang, Robdevil, the Yeon girl, Prince and Viole), so they only needed to be in the top 3 to guarantee being in the top 8, they didn't need to try their best necessarily (of course turns out being top 1 was important but they hadn't figured that out xD) "that's a ranker that little kid so he's strong" not just strong, he's a hundred times stronger than Viole as shown in a scene they skipped. And that's probably with restrictions are rankers can't use their full power in regular areas.
