Hi Scott. Especially appreciate the attention to the minutia and detail about van living. No one in van life that I have found is delving into what may be the 'boring details.' Thank you. I just found your channel and giving you thumbs up on all cached vids. Additionally what makes you stand out is organic / sustainable food and cooking. I lived in Seattle and Portland for 35 years. I get the chance to virtually visit my old haunts.
Tx for the tip on high top parking. I lean toward the PMC but at 61 y/o & 5' 11" I wonder if I need standing room. However much like you I will probably spend a good deal of time in the city so parking limitations could be a major consideration.
Thanks much for a day in Seattle! Old memories and first place I lived in area in '74, Cap Hill by park and cemetary you showed.. mother-in-law's house 2 blocks away.. Between you and Chrome, best remedy fo me watching videos of old 'home' Vancouver and Seattle area. Thanks again! Curious how you got the vehicle and build, not many around it seems, and just sold my Class C and traded my Caravan:( miss the van the most. Take care, stay healthy!
Glad you enjoyed the video. I have a build series playlist, but I’ve yet to really talk much about how and why I bought this van. Thanks for the kind words!
Beautiful sceneries and great tips on towels 👍 but after a long work week, I have to be totally honest and just say that my favorite part of the video is your soft, soothing voice, which has totally relaxed me!😊thank you! 💕 👍
Hi Scott Great Video List I have a tip for you since you live in and out of your van I have done the Rv thing fora long time and I have to tell you as a 20 year person of the road Your Windshield and your Driver and passenger side window's are a great source to use for drying your things you use also can be used for cooking in the heated part of the day
Good info and great scenery. I've been away from the PNW since the early 90's I think.... We're planning on a move to the OR next Spring if God wills. It'll be nice to get back out there.
The walk in the park was nice. I like seeing new places. Under ground parking does look like a van dwellers nightmare, even for your van. Thanks for the stroll in the park. 🙂
I did not. Truth be told, I only ever park in Queen Anne when I am too tired to drive further. But finding Storyville makes it all worthwhile. I’ll look up Kerry Park, Thanks.
Thanks. I filmed one of my videos at a park in Des Moines. I generally don’t park in a garage for very long as I like my solar panel to be in the sunlight for as long as possible.
Thanks for sharing about the towels. Will try as I haven't found a quick-dry one I like yet. Do you ever eat in the Ikea restaurant?? I usually go load up on Swedish meatballs before I tackle the massive floor space...
Do they do free tea? (Don't shoot me!) The only time I indulge in coffee is when I visit Italy - delish, but even the decaf with lots of cream & sugar totally messes with my constitution...
I recently went to my hometown for a visit and had the same problem with car park heights. my antenna was hitting the car park roof as I drove along,it amused me but not my elderly mother
Dr Bronners is some good stuff. Washington is beautiful. Between you and NW Granny's channel I'm learning a lot about Washington. Did you just have to mention carrot cake?! Now you've activated my sweet tooth. LOL
Did you climb the water tower? Use to be a nice view. Madrona has a world class restaurant called St. Clouds on 34th and E. Union. Fantastic food plus music 6 days a week. Music varies by the day of week. Better make a reservation. Family friendly! Happy to see you found Bruce and Brandon. I met Bruce when I was in High School. He made a point of talking to all us guys in the Lettermans Club and shook each of our hands. This was long before he became famous. Thanks for the tip on the cloths.
Bruce Lee was not famous at that point. He was living in Seattle and trying to get his Martial Arts business started. He was at the school doing demonstrations and hoping to get students. We'd never heard of him of his style of fighting in 1962/63. A couple of years later he was "Kato" in Green Hornet. Never put the two together until years later.
I used the peppermint dr bronners for the first time and i think it helped keep the bugs away. Maybe they don't like peppermint. Thanks for the recommendation I like those towels with the loop.
...I'm learning that when my appetite you've wetted so that it's like, "I'm hungry".... To get up from my chair and go make myself something ... So after hearing you mention ..carrot bread.. I thot of the zucchini bread a Lady friend of mine would make of the zucchini she grew in her garden or the banana bread a dear on- line buddy used to make with his wife and they would wrap in a way to send to me from Arizona for Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year's... So here I am at about 2:00 am with a serving of pizza rolls and a hamburger bun sandwich of basil pesto ( yes, pesto and not salsa) Classico and my 8 oz. Water bottle Feeling FINALLY in ..recovery.. from my Last of August 2022 tumble. To think when I stopped with the coffee and then also later on, food. Earlier on, now yesterday, in latter afternoon/ early evening made up some my fresh hot coffee. Just finishing it up now with these pizza rolls. I use a 16 oz black thermos type cup that has a spill proof type of lid so for a long while the coffee remains hot and delicious. As I glance at my coffee ..mug.. I think to when I purchased it. Was early August of 2022, a little while before the Woodward Dream Cruise so it's really like almost ..brand new.. as haven't barely used it...
Love Storyville Coffee .. and missed it so much now I order it in. BTW the reservoir on Beacon Hill when they re-did it, they lidded it and it is park on top now. They have done that to a few so far.
I've started using the micro fibre cloths normally used for dusting and car washing. They are very quick to dry after use and while you use them they hold water well and the rinse well and they can also be used as towels.
Great mappage-- again. And Suzi Homemaker comments on towels at no extra cost. Good stuff. I will try your soap as I am sure that the goo in pump bottles at my health club (sounds better than "gym") is bad for my largest organ (skin).
Ha! I don’t know if you’ve noticed but a couple if my friends have taken up adding maps to their videos. I seem to have started a trend spurred on by your comments of commendation.
For those who appreciate maps, they tell a whole story in an instant-- especially when you circle where you have been and where you are. Maps are common in sailing videos, and they are just as interesting on land, at least for me.
Hey, thanks for the towel comparison. Right now I have too heavy a towel in our motorhome. l'll check these out. I'm in the process of trying to pick a gym membership and would like to know if you would share your choice. You are pretty much in one area but would like throughout US. Thanks!
I’ve had several different gym memberships. Planet Fitness has the best price but I use Anytime Fitness now. I’ve been meaning to make a video about the difference between the two, they are apples and oranges different.
Oh that's right - you're redoing your interior! Ikea must be a gold mine of ideas for you, & right now you have that dangerous-but-fun - it's OK to buy stuff for the van mindset! Even better than buying online - being able to see an item in person, pick it up & take it home.If it doesn't work out - easier to trot it back to the store & do some more shopping. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
There are three versions of the Transit Connect, and all are different sizes. But I believe the Ram is just slightly larger than the biggest Transit Connect.
I think the minimum height allowed in Oz is 2.0 metres but some parking lots allow 2.1 and 2.2 metres on certain floors. Annoying when there is ZERO open space parking.
While it would be an honor to help you with your project, I don’t feel that I have the skills or knowledge to help you. I can, though, encourage you to tackle the wiring yourself. Using UA-cam and Google, I taught myself what was needed to get my wiring done. I can highly recommend ua-cam.com/users/errolprowse for great easy to understand videos on wiring.
The Volkswagen brings back memories. My Dad had one, then my Mom got one (divorced) and they were sort of counterculture, I guess. Very weak motor. I looked around and I guess they were called Type III, or station wagon, or squareback. www.justtoysclassiccars.com/vehicles/406/1967-volkswagen-square-back You always seem like a part of Seattle. When I just lived in a camper, moving around, it was hard to feel a part of anything. Ideally cities would be about people, but they seem to be about housing values and development. People end up looking for refuge, not an ongoing sense of enlightenment. Micro enlightenment. That's all I wish for.
Micro Enlightenment, I like that. Seattle isn’t the friendliest city I’ve ever been. It seems to take a little extra effort to feel at home here. But I think most big cities are the same. Thanks for your research.
Mr. Static, I was wondering why you said something about never wanting a high top van, now I know. By the way, you mentioned something about urban camping in San Diego. Just out of curiosity, what's up with San Diego and urban camping?
Officially, urban camping isn’t allowed in San Diego and the surrounding cities. But the reality is that if your respectful and park legally, it’s the easiest place for a van dweller. I used to park in the wealthiest communities because it was quieter and closer to my favorite health food stores and restaurants.
Static CamperVan: Mr. Static, please be careful with your coffee hand grinder. I remember hearing a story about an unfortunate coffee drinker who accidentally committed Hario-Kari with one of those things.
Thanks Scott, I'm going to try the soap you mention :- ) I won't be trying the 'Nespresso' advertised at the start and end of your vlog!! Yours is a 'great coffee' channel... the nerve of UA-cam wedging you between crap, vile exploitation :- )
I demand a refund on your video. The end was cut off. Now I don't know what you had with your cake. Anyways it's little things in life that make a difference. I use to buy the big luxurious thick towels and hated them but then I got thinner towels and they're quicker to dry off with and they make it easy to hold hair up in after a shower. I like the way you video. You capture scenery beautifully. Most people scan the camera so fast you get dizzy. You go to interesting places.
Thank you. It’s nice to hear you appreciate the effort it takes to make these videos. I’m sorry I didn’t film the annihilation of the carrot cake. I did enjoy a cup of coffee with it. I’ve instructed my staff to issue you a full refund on this video. The cheque is in the mail.
Thanks so much Scott for taking the time to give me the link to this video! I really do need to start watching all of your videos from the beginning 😊
I like this format... Gives me an idea of what everyday vanlife is like.
Thank you
Yep

Beautiful sceneries and great tips on towels 👍 but after a long work week, I have to be totally honest and just say that my favorite part of the video is your soft, soothing voice, which has totally relaxed me!😊thank you! 💕 👍
Nice IKEA towels. I have several colors of the thin bath and hand towels. They absorb well,, dry fast, and the hang loop is a handy plus.

Hope you got some of Ikea's Frakta 19 gal Shopping Bags - they nearly doubled in price recently to $1.49 but worth every penny!

Did you check out Kerry park on Queen Ann hill? Famous views of the city...
I did not. Truth be told, I only ever park in Queen Anne when I am too tired to drive further. But finding Storyville makes it all worthwhile.
I’ll look up Kerry Park, Thanks.
Static CamperVan you'll love it, and your viewer's....
Kerry Park great at night time also.
Glad you spent some time walking. I loved the scenes at the park in Seattle.
If you want a break from parking garages , there are some nice places to park in Des Moines-south of the city
Thanks. I filmed one of my videos at a park in Des Moines. I generally don’t park in a garage for very long as I like my solar panel to be in the sunlight for as long as possible.
....always informative and relaxing manner :) 👍 UK
Thanks Scott! ❤
Good tip on hand towels, wonder if you still use em today?
Thanks for sharing about the towels. Will try as I haven't found a quick-dry one I like yet. Do you ever eat in the Ikea restaurant?? I usually go load up on Swedish meatballs before I tackle the massive floor space...
I do eat at Ikea. The best part is the free coffee if you sign up for the Ikea family card :^)
Do they do free tea? (Don't shoot me!) The only time I indulge in coffee is when I visit Italy - delish, but even the decaf with lots of cream & sugar totally messes with my constitution...
I’m not sure, I would assume so. I’m fairly coffee focused. Yes, it’s a problem 😆
Some people like to use the travel towels. Very light weight and dries quickly.
I recently went to my hometown for a visit and had the same problem with car park heights. my antenna was hitting the car park roof as I drove along,it amused me but not my elderly mother
That's why the NBA left Seattle. The players were bumping their heads in parking garages all the time
Ha!
Dr Bronners is some good stuff. Washington is beautiful. Between you and NW Granny's channel I'm learning a lot about Washington. Did you just have to mention carrot cake?! Now you've activated my sweet tooth. LOL
You need to get up here and check it out yourself :^)
Did you climb the water tower? Use to be a nice view.
Madrona has a world class restaurant called St. Clouds on 34th and E. Union. Fantastic food plus music 6 days a week. Music varies by the day of week. Better make a reservation. Family friendly!
Happy to see you found Bruce and Brandon. I met Bruce when I was in High School. He made a point of talking to all us guys in the Lettermans Club and shook each of our hands. This was long before he became famous.
Thanks for the tip on the cloths.
The tower was locked up. Awesome you got to meet Bruce!
Thanks, well done video.
You can hand sew a hang loop on the other towels 😀
I used the peppermint dr bronners for the first time and i think it helped keep the bugs away. Maybe they don't like peppermint.
Thanks for the recommendation I like those towels with the loop.
An added bonus. thanks for the tip!

You’re welcome 😃
Great tips on the towels. I've been using micro fiber cheapos from Walmart and they work adequately. .. dry fast. - Towel Talk with Timmy. 😂☺😃
I hope to see an in-depth discussion on your next video.
Love Storyville Coffee .. and missed it so much now I order it in.
BTW the reservoir on Beacon Hill when they re-did it, they lidded it and it is park on top now. They have done that to a few so far.
Interesting about the reservoirs.
Storyville is a gem.
Same with the one at 83rd and Roosevelt.
I've started using the micro fibre cloths normally used for dusting and car washing. They are very quick to dry after use and while you use them they hold water well and the rinse well and they can also be used as towels.
Good point
Making me miss Washington!
Oh no, it’s just terrible here. You’re not missing a thing. 🙃
Great mappage-- again. And Suzi Homemaker comments on towels at no extra cost. Good stuff. I will try your soap as I am sure that the goo in pump bottles at my health club (sounds better than "gym") is bad for my largest organ (skin).

Have you checked out Jack Block park on Alki? Even on a busy Alki weekend it’s very quiet.
I have. That’s a great park with the view deck, you can see the city and Mt Rainier. I usually forget about it though.
Who doesn't love an unfinished cake discovery 🤗💃🏾
😋
You should have gone with me to Ikea!
I’m always up for a trip to Ikea. Especially with you ☺️

Question, is the little Ram larger inside than the Ford Transit Connect?
There are three versions of the Transit Connect, and all are different sizes. But I believe the Ram is just slightly larger than the biggest Transit Connect.
I watched almost all Bruce Lee movies, Brandon I'm not sure. I dudntcrealize he was buried there. Beautiful park
🦋
I like thin towels too. There's no Ikeia here. :-( may be I can buy them online. Thanks for the nice video. :-)
I’m sure there are similar towels at other stores. I just like hanging out at Ikea so it was convenient.
That car in the video would be a"squareback"
Yeah, I'd have the same problem with my van - low ceiling under ground parking - 2.1 metres max height.
I had to back out if a parking garage about a month ago while two young ladies watched and said “your van won’t fit in here”. It was embarrassing.
I think the minimum height allowed in Oz is 2.0 metres but some parking lots allow 2.1 and 2.2 metres on certain floors. Annoying when there is ZERO open space parking.
Are you still in Seattle? If you can help us with the wire installation? We are in Seattle , Redmond.

My cousin had the VW wagon, I remember it wouldn't crank after a rain 🌧️ til the engine dried out.
Yum, i love carrot cake. LOL 👍🐧
PCC makes a great one.

Static CamperVan: Thank you.
Makes good sense to me.
Karmann Ghia station wagon?
I think VW Squareback.
Do you hand grind your own coffee beans? Looks so green there enjoy!
Yes, I use a Hario hand grinder for my coffee beans.
It’s beautiful here this time of year! Thanks
Static CamperVan: Mr. Static, please be careful with your coffee hand grinder. I remember hearing a story about an unfortunate coffee drinker who accidentally committed Hario-Kari with one of those things.
Ha!
Now we know your "secret" to slim and trim, 2 bites of a delicious cake and you are full, then forget it exists....sweet tooth goals!
Oh, I devoured the remaining slice shortly after!
Scott.... If the rain keeps up it won't come down.
Ah!
I click on the video..what is the advertisement for? Nespresso Coffee! (can't make this up!)
Hahahah! NO!!!!
Static CamperVan Just clicked it again: now it's for BMW! Coffee and cars? Sounds like Seattle to me!
BMW is certainly better than low grade coffee.
Thanks Scott, I'm going to try the soap you mention :- ) I won't be trying the 'Nespresso' advertised at the start and end of your vlog!! Yours is a 'great coffee' channel... the nerve of UA-cam wedging you between crap, vile exploitation :- )

Do you dislike high top shoes?
I don’t know what they are but I shall say that I dislike them out of principle.
High top shoes? They give good ankle support, because they extend above the ankle. ie basketball sneakers, hiking boots
I was just kidding around. But seriously, I stopped buying hightop shoes when I was a teenager. I could use a good pair if hiking boots though...
I figured, but just in case, I pointed out useful ones. I traded high top sneakers for high top work boots after my teens.
Jimmy's still around, he's a VOO DOO CHILD
