I honestly wish Xbox would go out of their way to have exclusive games like this. Like how the ps2 had the smackdown series and the Xbox had the wrestlemania series.
@@overdoseproductions9011I’ll say this Xbox would get Mania 21 a awful game meanwhile GameCube would get the amazing day of reckoning series I wish they kept it going on Wii a Day of Reckoning 3 on Wii could have been better than the ports the Wii got but SVR09 on Wii feels like a DOR 3 with a different name and lineup
I've sunk literal days in this and initially expected nothing from this game. Great review, interesting note to add too is that when you start your career mode the location you pick for your character's nationality determines which country you start out in when starting career mode.
Not a Tennis guy but played the heck out of Top Spin on my Xbox. I recently picked up the NFL Fever series and really wish Xbox had stuck to their guns on sports games. Would have been nice to have a third choice other than 2K and EA 20 years later
As a nerd with no interest in sports, i never bothered with sport games, assuming they would bore me even more. But this channel covers many hidden gems or offers perspective on games I never tried. I'm like 3 minutes in and I'm already way more interested in the game history
This was the only tennis game I ever enjoyed. I remember playing it for an entire summer, when I was still a youngin. I'm not much for sports games but this and Fight Night Round 4 stick out to me as top tier sports games.
This still holds up pretty well even today. I got a couple of pretty cool Xbox games this week too. Futurama for original Xbox and The Simpsons for 360.
I remember there being an unusually high amount of buzz for this game back in the day. I was working in a game shop and a lot of people were talking about it. Which isn’t at all common for a tennis game. After trying it, I just considered it the ”we have Vritua Tennis at home” of the Xbox. And that’s not an insult, because it plays almost as well as Virtua Tennis. It just lacks the character of Sega’s game.
I found out about this game when I went to Southeast Game Exchange Expo 3 years ago and I fell in love with it I bought a copy for myself and bought the other three sequels and right now I'm playing through the original Xbox version and I'm having a blast with it. Virtua tennis was one of my favorite tennis games, but after playing the original Xbox version of topspin topspin Trump's Virtual Tennis for me
Even if it takes years. Im looking forward to these reviews. Ones im looking forward to are Shenmue 2, Star Wars Ep3, Panzar Dragoon Orta and Phantom Dust
Bro idk which madden game for Xbox I should get. Sports games around 2000-2012 probably had the peak sports game experience. … oh yea and EA was amazing haha
There's great care and attention to detail for Top Spin 1, 2, 3 and 4. It's unfortunate that after so such a long wait, publisher 2K Games had to ruin TopSpin 2K25 with its awful in-game virtual currency (VC) that plagues all their sports games, so I will not be supporting it.
I wish it was backwards compatible on Xbox 360. It runs at 10fps on Xemu for me. The PS2 version sucks, and the PC version I got off Wayback has some bugs :(
I had the same bugs in career mode, but I managed to fix it, you have to patch the game to 1.1 and put a nocd.exe, then use wined3d. There you have it, this one is my favourite of the series and the pc version is the best
Would be careful adding generalizations about how things were imo. For example, XSN was never poised to take over the sports game world. It wasnt pushed as a developer. The titles were moreso. But they actually didnt have a lot of marketing. Nothing like Madden or ESPN. As someone who lived through that era, some of these statements sound jarring. Also creates a false narrative.
Thank you for the heads up. I appreciate the feedback. Is there any other statements I should take note of. I do my best to do accurate research but I’m still learning every day. I do not try to spread false info so I want to make sure to edit anything I need to.

GameCube had wrestlemania and Xbox we had raw .

Forgot to mention that! I think that's a fun little feature. Thanks for watching!
The xsn label reminds me to the Nsports brand for Nintendo 64, both short lived but with cool games under the belt
That's interesting I've never heard of it. I'll have to check Nsports out.
this game still looks good today.

I totally agree. When there were many sports titles, the competition kept all of the games upgrading. Now it feels a little stale.
@@campxbox I think I've bought one Madden game since then. And it was $20 by that point.
This was one of my favorite games growing up. The controls felt the most like actually playing to me. Idk what they did to the controls in TS 2.
I'm a fan of Mario Tennis. I'm definitely gonna to get this game.
Top Spin was great and was the first game I played on X-Box Live
One of those games that I would find HUNDREDS of in the bargain bin back in the day!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. I like to make sure every game gets it due with a full review because you can find some great games in hidden places.
@@campxbox thank you^^

Futurama for original Xbox and The Simpsons for 360.
Futurama is expensive. Thats a great find!
2:18 i seriously thought this was a ghoul from Fallout BOS or something at first😂
I just recently bought Top Spin 4 on Xbox 360. Playing as Andy Roddick vs Roger Federer was such a throw back!
That with the music is really a cool Feature!!

I played so much of this game!
Me too!

Excited to listen to this, one of my fav sports games for the OG Xbox..!
Hope you enjoy!
Im playing Top Spin 4 right now

Another weekend with Camp Xbox
Just recently bought this for 3$ for the first time. Been playing the hell out of it
Great video again Camp👍
Thanks! I appreciate it!

I'm glad you enjoy the series! Luckily I have a review on Star Wars Episode 3, but it's a bit older.
@@campxbox if you can I'd grab those other titles. Panzar might be a little pricey but hopefully you'll get a good deal
Camp is one scary looking dude!

Top Spin 4 on Xbox 360 is the best tennis game ever. New games don't come close
I played the shit outta this in the early 2000s.
Always get this game confused with the sega virtua tennis game which is also good.
Inside Pitch 2003 was not an XSN Sports title.
Also Fallout wants his Ghoul back 😂
Grew up on this game!!!!
Yes one of the best
Microsoft only supporting game studios for less than a year. We saw that again recently...
When I was researching/recording for this review I was surprised how topical it felt.

This was the game where I first heard the song Get Free by The Vines
haha 🙂
Loved this game. Barely knew how tennis worked but it was fun nonetheless 😂
Haha well that shows the power of this game!

This comment is for the Algorithm.
All praise the Algorithm 🙏
this game honestly always looked kinda ass and i found it weird theres a ps2 game with the same name with complete different gameplay.
