The way you warm up reminds me of Carmine Caruso and "Musical Calisthenics for Brass". About 1979, I went with my trumpet teacher to the New York Brass Conference. My teacher, Richard Kitt, had booked a lesson for himself with Carmine Caruso. Mr. Kitt had me go to his lesson with him. When Carmine opened the door, Mr. Kitt explained that I was one of his students and asked if it would be okay for me to sit in. He said of course I could sit in, and to please ask questions if I had any. That's a day I will never forget.
That is a cool set of exercises for a warmup! I was watching and thinking ok, seems solid, I’ll give it a try and THEN I noticed all the bending going on!!! I am looking forward to getting home and trying this one. Thank you for the content your put out.
Thanks Mark! I was beginning to worry about getting back to gigs this Summer. Feeling way better after a few days of this routine. Staying below high C for now. My sound is better than it's been in years. Maybe part 3 in a few weeks!
Hi Mark. I'm just new to your site's. Your warm up looks challenging, also I have limited time to spend practicing. Could this warm up, or parts of it suffice as a stand alone "mini practice session"?
Mark Zauss, I studied and played your methods. Believe or not its definitely works. Thank you for this warm up exercise!
Fantastic! Thank you Michael!
i met a guy recently who played with mark, he was super good but mark is just insane
Thank you for this great resource.
You are gold for trumpet players online, keep it up mate!
