Having the woman you love step back when you walks towards her in fear is not something you ever want to see. I'm Elijah's biggest fan and defender and I understand his character since the days of TVD. But I can understand Hayley's feelings and reaction.

This scene was so intense! It's something special about Freya and Hope working together! That was a long chase. Then Of course Elijah wouldn't forgive himself if he hurt Hayley and Klaus would totally lose it if Hope was hurt in any way during all of this and blame everyone involved. The way Hope was able to snap Elijah out of it and save the day was crazy amazing, whether Hayley wants to admit it or not Hope is definitely needed when it comes to saving people. Hayley will most likely forgive, but will never forget.

I think the reason why Hayley was scared, wasn't because he has a dark past but because he chose the darkest part of his mind to stay......if that makes sense. The darkest part of him is the core of him and knowing that somewhere so dark is what Elijah is built around scares her. She wanted the core of him to be somewhere happy.......somewhere good. In my opinion at least 😊.

The darkness is his core, that's why he is the way he is. His life is based on Klaus' redemption, because this will bring him closer to his own redemption. He never acts selfish. Because he gives weight to the darkness, and permits it to condition all his action, which means protect his family, protect the innocence of the people he loves, because he knows he can't do nothing to regain his own.
well elijah isn't exactly a saint. everyone knows that, klaus even said that "they are the villian in every story..." elijah himself admitted to cami that he tried to keep it under control but they are vampires and not just any vampires, they are the "originals" the very first vampire created using the power of "nature" which also cursed them. he can try to live with his own morals and try to be noble but he will still go back to what "nature" made them to be they are "predators".
It's amazing how elijah dresses clean and acts like a perfect original vampire but really it's from is past because he had lot's of troubles in his past about being a vampire and that memeory is a surpirse to hayley because she never knew about what elijah's memories are!

What you don't get is that Hayley is not upset that Elijah did all those things. She's not stupid, she knew that already. And she knows damn well they've all done terrible things. What she's upset about is that the door Elijah chose to find solace in was the actual red door. Behind that door Elijah has done the most horrifying things of his life. He supposedly felt ashamed of them and yet there he was, finding refuge in there. The things he did made him feel good. Freya herself told Hayley that the door Elijah's behind represents the fundamental base of his true nature. If Elijah was as good as he pretends to be then he would find solace in a good, pure moment with someone he loves. Instead he chose the wrong door. Elijah pretends to be something he's not and he's fooled everyone, even Klaus and it shows here. Klaus thinks Elijah is the best of them all because of his facade but in reality he's the darkest of them all. For now the only ones who know who Elijah truly is are Marcel and Vincent. Hopefully Hayley sees it too now. Also.. let me make a simple parallel here. Stefan about Damon: He's the right man. Klaus about Elijah: He's the best of us all. Both brothers are equally delusional.

However I think its true of almost any person, we finds out who we are and are our truest selves in horrible situations or when things go wrong. When we are at out lowest or most vulnerable we are the closest to our core. In every moment any of the walked in on there was a piece of him there,he acknowledged them. Not to mention some people find comfort in their pain, or liked the freedom we felt in doing something before we knew what brought that feeling was wrong. The only mistake I see made here is that Haley finally saw Elijah without the rose colored glasses of a lesser/weaker love and has to decide what that means for her. Elijah like Stephan, has to forgive himself his past crimes when he was strong in body but without discipline, without a teacher to guide him and without the chaotic family dynamics. Its ok to be a monster if you know it ,chose not to do monstrous things but forgive yourself for earlier mistakes. Elijah isn't faking being civilized ,he just isn't giving his uncivilized nature the respect it deserves.

Of course she knew Elijah got dark times and saw many times him killing people but he was in control there. And this day she finds Elijah out of control. He was ready to kill anyone he can see. He was a real monster and she didn't see in him anything she knew in the normal Elijah she loves. That's absolutely another person in your loved man's body and this person tries to kill you. I think she has right to be scared
I understand Hayley's reaction. I don't think she will leave Elijah. When he became himself again, it was so obvious that one of his biggest fears has been realised (Season 2, episode 5. in the opening scene). he's hurt the woman he loves. I think that if this relationship is to end, it would be Elijah who will end it. Because he would be too scared to hurt her again.

And this isn’t the Elijah she knows, the Elijah she knows would never hurt her in a million years!! She knew he had a bad past but she never imagined this.. she was clearly traumatised and hurt. When he steps toward her and she proceeds to step back you can see the fear. It’s wasn’t hayleys fault but it wasn’t Elijah either. It was nobody’s fault. Everyone is wondering why Haley is acting the way she is when if you think about it hard enough put in her situation you might very well act the same way. Out of a thousand years worth of memories, he chooses the darkest time in his life to hide when he has come to know what real love is and what it means to be united as a family. Not only that he viciously attacked her despite her efforts to get through to him, something she would have never thought would happen in a million years. She feels betrayed on so many different levels. She thought she was good enough for him to not hide in the darkest parts of his mind. She thought she had the capability of being able to bring him back from the very edge of insanity and monstrosity. The everyday person who is in love and genuinely cares about their significant other feels like they are able to do this for their partner and almost assumes/expects vice versa. What she is feeling and how she is acting has nothing to do with his just his "past" It's so much more than that.

Yes, Elijah was not himself and maybe she assumed or was delusional that she could be able to reach out to in the manner she did and he recognize her, but most people in love with someone is going to think they're that person who can pull them from the dark. She went through the red door, to say that it was a risky play would put it mildly. Where she found him was when he was newly turned and gorging on blood. Hayley is no pushover in the real world but she is in Elijah's mind and has only the power he sees her as having, if she has any power at all. The fact that he didn't immediaty kill her shows that he was fighting his instinct the entire time. He didn't chase her, she was running away in crippling fear which shows she didn't have her Hybrid strength. In fact if this had taken place in the real world she wouldn't have been as scared as she was. Notice how she only physically recoils from him while shes in his mind, when Elijah is resurrected she doesn't fear him anymore as a threat to her. She was only disappointed that out of all his memories he retreated to his darkest hour and that changed how she viewed him. While Elijah cannot be killed without White Oak, Hayley herself can transform into what is shown in other episodes as a giant wolf with enough strength to easily kill a group of ancient vampires that where chasing her as she tried to find the cure to Marcels venom. In this form she could've easily at least disabled Elijah enough to escape. That's the reason the writers made this take place in Elijah's mind. Hayley is estimated to have the same physical strength and speed of an ancient Vampire even in her human form...
I hope hayley forgives Elijah she shouldn't of been scared of him he was broken and not all memories are good and he does have a dark past and can't change it nowb

I don't see how any of what we saw was scary with Elijah. We've seen multiple deaths and slaughter's on this show so I'm not moved by it at all. It was Elijah being controlled by his blood lust and that's it. He's not innocent and he's not more noble than his siblings and most of us were already aware of that. This is nothing new.

I think the reason why Hayley was scared, wasn't because he has a dark past but because he chose the darkest part of his mind to stay......if that makes sense. The darkest part of him is the core of him and knowing that somewhere so dark is what Elijah is built around scares her. She wanted the core of him to be somewhere happy.......somewhere good. In my opinion at least 😊.

The darkness is his core, that's why he is the way he is. His life is based on Klaus' redemption, because this will bring him closer to his own redemption. He never acts selfish. Because he gives weight to the darkness, and permits it to condition all his action, which means protect his family, protect the innocence of the people he loves, because he knows he can't do nothing to regain his own.
well elijah isn't exactly a saint. everyone knows that, klaus even said that "they are the villian in every story..." elijah himself admitted to cami that he tried to keep it under control but they are vampires and not just any vampires, they are the "originals" the very first vampire created using the power of "nature" which also cursed them. he can try to live with his own morals and try to be noble but he will still go back to what "nature" made them to be they are "predators".
It's amazing how elijah dresses clean and acts like a perfect original vampire but really it's from is past because he had lot's of troubles in his past about being a vampire and that memeory is a surpirse to hayley because she never knew about what elijah's memories are!

What you don't get is that Hayley is not upset that Elijah did all those things. She's not stupid, she knew that already. And she knows damn well they've all done terrible things. What she's upset about is that the door Elijah chose to find solace in was the actual red door. Behind that door Elijah has done the most horrifying things of his life. He supposedly felt ashamed of them and yet there he was, finding refuge in there. The things he did made him feel good. Freya herself told Hayley that the door Elijah's behind represents the fundamental base of his true nature. If Elijah was as good as he pretends to be then he would find solace in a good, pure moment with someone he loves. Instead he chose the wrong door. Elijah pretends to be something he's not and he's fooled everyone, even Klaus and it shows here. Klaus thinks Elijah is the best of them all because of his facade but in reality he's the darkest of them all. For now the only ones who know who Elijah truly is are Marcel and Vincent. Hopefully Hayley sees it too now.

However I think its true of almost any person, we finds out who we are and are our truest selves in horrible situations or when things go wrong. When we are at out lowest or most vulnerable we are the closest to our core. In every moment any of the walked in on there was a piece of him there,he acknowledged them. Not to mention some people find comfort in their pain, or liked the freedom we felt in doing something before we knew what brought that feeling was wrong. The only mistake I see made here is that Haley finally saw Elijah without the rose colored glasses of a lesser/weaker love and has to decide what that means for her. Elijah like Stephan, has to forgive himself his past crimes when he was strong in body but without discipline, without a teacher to guide him and without the chaotic family dynamics. Its ok to be a monster if you know it ,chose not to do monstrous things but forgive yourself for earlier mistakes. Elijah isn't faking being civilized ,he just isn't giving his uncivilized nature the respect it deserves.

He was a real monster and she didn't see in him anything she knew in the normal Elijah she loves. That's absolutely another person in your loved man's body and this person tries to kill you. And this isn’t the Elijah she knows, the Elijah she knows would never hurt her in a million years!! She knew he had a bad past but she never imagined this.. she was clearly traumatised and hurt. When he steps toward her and she proceeds to step back you can see the fear. It’s wasn’t hayleys fault but it wasn’t Elijah either. It was nobody’s fault. So Hayley or Elijah should not be getting hate, yes everyone has their own opinion and this is mine.

Everyone is wondering why Haley is acting the way she is when if you think about it hard enough put in her situation you might very well act the same way. Out of a thousand years worth of memories, he chooses the darkest time in his life to hide when he has come to know what real love is and what it means to be united as a family. Not only that he viciously attacked her despite her efforts to get through to him, something she would have never thought would happen in a million years. She feels betrayed on so many different levels. She thought she was good enough for him to not hide in the darkest parts of his mind. She thought she had the capability of being able to bring him back from the very edge of insanity and monstrosity. The everyday person who is in love and genuinely cares about their significant other feels like they are able to do this for their partner and almost assumes/expects vice versa. What she is feeling and how she is acting has nothing to do with his just his "past" It's so much more than that.

You guys are missing the point, one of the most fundamental things in a relationship is trust. Yes, Elijah was not himself and maybe she assumed or was delusional that she could be able to reach out to in the manner she did and he recognize her, but most people in love with someone is going to think they're that person who can pull them from the dark. She has every right to react how she did cause as one of you said she was stalked, hunted, and attacked. She went through the red door, to say that it was a risky play would put it mildly. Where she found him was when he was newly turned and gorging on blood. Hayley is no pushover in the real world but she is in Elijah's mind and has only the power he sees her as having, if she has any power at all.
The fact that he didn't immediaty kill her shows that he was fighting his instinct the entire time. He didn't chase her, she was running away in crippling fear which shows she didn't have her Hybrid strength.
In fact if this had taken place in the real world she wouldn't have been as scared as she was. Notice how she only physically recoils from him while shes in his mind, when Elijah is resurrected she doesn't fear him anymore as a threat to her. She was only disappointed that out of all his memories he retreated to his darkest hour and that changed how she viewed him.
While Elijah cannot be killed without White Oak, Hayley herself can transform into what is shown in other episodes as a giant wolf with enough strength to easily kill a group of ancient vampires that where chasing her as she tried to find the cure to Marcels venom.
In this form she could've easily at least disabled Elijah enough to escape. That's the reason the writers made this take place in Elijah's mind. Hayley is estimated to have the same physical strength and speed of an ancient Vampire even in her human form...

I don't see how any of what we saw was scary with Elijah. We've seen multiple deaths and slaughter's on this show so I'm not moved by it at all. It was Elijah being controlled by his blood lust and that's it. He's not innocent and he's not more noble than his siblings and most of us were already aware of that. This is nothing new.
