If Mike and Bob get along well that makes the job doable. Bob needs to not just hire Mike, but give him what he needs to succeed (unlike what he gave Mayo).
The Krafts don’t know what is needed they had a guy who did it all in Belichick. If Vrabel is the guy he’s going to have to know that and with his experience we are hoping he does.

The Felger & Mazz team has a both uncanny and unparalleled ability to find the negativity in just about every sports story. Give them credit, they know what sells.😏
Unfortunately the Pats are not good enough to think that they can have their pick of the coaching candidates before other teams make their hires. What happens if Vrabel decides to go elsewhere? What happens if Johnson decides to go elsewhere? They should have done a proper head coach search so that they would have more options. They are not the only team talking to the most desirable candidates.
I disagree with 99.99% of what squeaky says, but in THIS case, he's right. Having said that, I'm sure he knows it's very different today than it was back then. Back then BB ran the show - he kept Kraft in check because he won. Today - Kraft is a meddler and Vrabel will be the guy trying to run the show - with a doddering old fool meddling.
Kraft is one of the least meddlesome owners in football. Kraft actually stayed out of the way for 20 years when the team was winning. You want to see meddlesome owners go look at the cowboys and raiders.

Maybe Vrabel thinks he can bring the team back to success. Personally, I'd rather see Johnson, but Kraft would have to wait until the Lions are out of the playoffs to hire him, and he's too impatient
Exactly, it’s the impatience, once again, that gets me. Yeah, they could miss out on Vrabel, but they’re also missing out on a lot of other possible interviews like the Bucs OC Liam Coen, Joe Brady from the Bills, Flores obviously, and who knows who else.
Ben Johnson is no guarantee of anything. He could be a great head coach. He could also be a complete bust. If you’re looking to be a head coach this year, the teams that are available the Patriots are by far the best option because they have a insane, talented rookie quarterback that just needs a good coach.
