    They must have been planning this one for weeks, and that's why they gave Jerrod Mayo the boot so quick.
    Now for Will Levis to stump for Mayo to join the Titans coaching staff. He has no idea what he can do, he just heard Mayo was available and went nuts.

    Why do teams hire CEO types like Vrabel and not let him play CEO? Pats better let him do his job to its fullest

    • @jbossmantv
      @jbossmantv День тому +18

      They are. Vrabel was kicked out of the Titans because the front office was making decisions that Vrabel disagreed with (trading AJ Brown). They undercut him and when he pushed back they kicked him to the curb. I doubt the same thing will happen in New England because he is basically like a son to Robert Kraft.

    • @Ishai1
      @Ishai1 День тому +4

      The real question is why are they calling him "CEO type". The anecdote Rich shares about AJ tells me Vrabel was nowhere near the CEO type in his previous HC gig and I don't know why they now refer to him as that, and why they think the Patriots who didn't want Bill because he was the defacto CEO will revert to that.
      Maybe they just think he's a good coach and aren't going to let him run the whole operation?

      J. Brissett, D.Etling, J. Stidham, M.Jones, B.Zappe and finally Drake Maye this year.
      Since 2016 they drafted these good players: OG J.Thuney (now with KC), LB J. Bentley, DE D.Wise, P J.Bailey (now with MIAMI), LB J. Uche (now with KC), S K.Dugger, DB C.Gonzalez.

    When I was a very young kid I got into a 1960s Washington Redskins game and received my very first lesson in NFL football - I was seated behind a row of veteran Redskins fans and after witnessing a Washington running back get stuffed for zero yardage. one (very large) fan turned to another (very large) fan and exclaimed, "Jim Brown couldn't run behind that line". Meaning: that teamed lacked talent and lo and behold they were doomed to lose. The 2024 New England Patriots, excepting maybe three players, lack NFL caliber talent. It won't matter who the coach is until they acquire some talent on that team. To paraphrase the gentlemen in front of me circa 1966, "Vince Lombardi couldn't coach that team and make it into winners".

Brockman is way too quick to say that the Mayo plan wasn’t going to work because of one losing season. The Patriots showed Belichik patience, and he rewarded them. He was a retread who was initially unsuccessful in NE. Why can’t Mayo benefit from the same patience? You never get to become BB if front offices don’t let let you.

      That’s a fair assessment, but tbh Henry carried the entire offense. They had the most mid of mid QBs in Tannehill. They had no business winning as much as they did. Their defense was also really good for a while too which is his bread and butter. There’s no telling how his stint with NE will go but I know he’ll for sure get more of a chance than Mayo got

    Best hire this year. It'll be hilarious for this to be overshadowed by the idiotic bluster that Deion will bring to the Cowboys or whatever team is dumb enough to sign in. You can steal talent in the college transfer portal and field a middling Big 12 team, but good luck in a big-boy league with salary caps, contracts, and pro players that won't tolerate Deions antics. Now NE needs to avoid dealing with Deions products- I don't care how talented Hunter is- stay away. And Shedeur... lol, please stop.
