I mean, they need almost everything. They have 2 good young QBs and a stud CB. They need to build the O line, get receiving talent in that room, a much better pass rush....how quickly they get good is 100% tied to how best they utilize the cap space and draft capital.
I'll take 5 wins and every week they are a problem for every team they face. This year they were so overmatched from a talent and coaching perspective you knew they had no chance to win.
@@Angel00Fish exactly I’m gonna go at least five wins maybe if they overachieve like 7 it’s impossible to address every need in the off-season but this is essentially a 3 win team unless you want to count beating Buffalos 3rd stringers.
As a Pats fan, all I want is relevant games in December. That hasn’t happened in about 3 years. 7 or 8 wins and stay in the hunt. It can be done. The defense was good 2 and 3 years ago with basically the same players. It all fell apart this year. Vrabel can fix that. We have the number 4 pick and 130M in cap space. We need a WR1 and 2 Tackles. Draft a LT at 4. Overpay for Tee Higgins, who might be a borderline number 1 receiver, but he’s by far the best free agent we option this year, and sign a real nfl caliber right tackle, which we couldn’t do last year for some reason. That with Vrabel coaching out dumb mistakes makes the patriots a 7 or 8 win team right off the bat, then go from there
Patriots will be making a run at that AFC championship game within two years. They might not get there, but in three years they will. Four years they will be in the Super Bowl.
As a Pats fan, the biggest problem with this team right now after getting Vrabel is the trenches blow ass on both sides of the ball and that is tough to fix in a single year. The offense in terms of skill guys are a no.1 receiver away. They have Hunter Henry, they have some depth at receiver in Boutte (who really flashed at the end of the year) and Pop Douglas. They have Mondre and Gibson to give them above average run game. But man, their o-line was the worst in football and it wasn't even close. Like if Andrews comes back next year you still have to replace 4 more guys. The same goes on the D-line without Christian Barmore they can't rush the passer and they can't stop the run. it's really hard to control the pace of a game when you suck on both sides of the line of scrimmage. I think Vrabel will have this team playing better next year. More prepared, less presnap penalties, but I expect it to take 2-3 years before you can fully fix the disaster in the trenches and that is where you win a lot of football games.
Pats ceiling for next year is 10-7, but I think the floor will be 7-10 with a lot of optimism. I have a feeling this might end up being a Lions-like rebuild that takes a few years but ends up in a really good place
It’s just about starting to change the culture. No one’s expecting him to come in year one and take them to the AFC championship. It’s a rebuild and that’s the guy you want rebuilding.

@@dmd2652 You just can't stay away from the goofy talk. He was coach of the year and went to the playoffs 3 times over 6 years. At least 4 teams were interested in making him HC recently. Yeah, the Pats were good mostly because of Brady. Belichick was a good coach but not too good as GM.
There’s absolutely 0 evidence Vrabel will win right away. When he took over for Mularkey in 2018 the Titans were just coming off a playoff win the year prior. Vrabel took an already good Titans team and made them very good. Once the roster wasn’t as talented, he finished the 2022 season 0-7 and blew the division. Then went 6-11 in 2023 and got fired. He hasn’t proven at all he can take a team with no talent and elevate them. In his 6 seasons as HC he only had 1 season in which he won a playoff game. He’s a good coach but he’s being extremely overrated here.
He matched the 9-7 of Mularkey as a rookie HC. He then went 9-7 again, then 11-5 and 12-5. There is every reason to believe he can improve a team in short order. Apparently you think rookie Mayo with a paltry coaching resume was equal to Mularkey with 24 years coaching, lol. You have flawed cherry picking logic.
@ yes, every reason to believe he can take over a playoff caliber roster and make them even better. Zero reason to believe he can take over a garbage roster and make them better - as evidenced by the 2022 debacle and 2023 season. Are you here to tell me New England’s roster is actually good? LMAO
@@derektaitano6504 Yeah, cuz the TX team didn't go from 4 wins to 10 in one offseason or the Chargers didn't just go from 5 to 11 wins in one offseason. @ uhhh yeah because Harbaugh had Herbert and Demeco had Stroud. Vrabel didn't win with the Titans but will win with Patriots for some reason. Got it. Oh Yeah Belichick couldn't win with the Bradyless Patriots either.
They were going to the playoffs every season, they were competitive with a team that's not much better than the patriots are now. Fell off when AJ Brown got traded, I'm not sure why they traded him. Maybe injuries or he was a locker room issue. Derrick Henry never broke out until Vrabel came, i know this because i was drafting him each year. Went from 1000 rushing to 1500 yards.
I don't know shit about Vrable as a head coach, how the hell does Colin know. Eh , we will see. I personally am hoping for twenty more years of losing.
We better be in the playoff this upcoming year. No excuses. Apparently Vrabel made the playoff team in Tennessee not Derrick Henry, AJ Brown and Matt LaFleur 🤣.
People saying the pars got no talent are stupid. They have dugger and peppers at safeties who are great. Keion white is gonna thrive alongside a drafted edge. Then barmore and bentley are back who are very good players. Yall trippinnn. We do need good receiver and lineman but our roster is by far not close to as bad as people say
I don't understand the sureness of Maye at this point. Kid has a ton to prove and to take a job gambling on that kid with arguably the worst roster in football is risky.
Sure, he's got a ton to prove. He's a rookie. He's also a rookie that performed on an analytical level better than most of the other rookies in far better situations both talent and coaching wise. Analytically he was one of the better passers and QBs in the league this season, actually. He's got a cannon, above average accuracy, the ability to run both scramble and designed and makes good decisions for the most part. He's a legit player with all the right tools to succeed. And that success starts from the top down. Vrabel is a great coach and understands what it takes to build a winning franchise. He did it in Tennesse with a similarly mediocre roster and franchise for years. Only now he has a young QB on a rookie deal who's above average talent-wise versus in Tennesse he had league average or below QB play the entire time. Maye is legit and the data bears that out. Now it's on the staff to put guys in positions to help him succeed.
@@brett4932 there’s a rookie qb in the playoffs rn. I live in New England so I’m used to the cope but my god. What analytics are you referring to?! I mean honestly. @ No, on the contrary - most people did not say that about Mac nor did Mac flash like Drake has. It was very clear from early on that Mac was a below average QB at best. Especially in year two when the roster really dropped off another level. No one is saying that Maye is the next Mahomes or Brady. But he's shown he has the ability to be an above average QB in the league that can be built around. How is that a take that needs the brakes pushed on? The brightest football minds in the league love the kid. Don't take it from me. Vrabel took the job because he had a QB, Ben Johnson has gone on record saying he thinks Maye has a really strong future ahead of him, etc. etc. Don't take it from me. Take it from actual football guys.
@ dude. I live in Maine and I promise you that’s all the talk was on the local radio stations along with 98.5. Revisionist history with this crap but he made the pro bowl as the rookie. Had better numbers and he was the savior. But like anyone in NE the minute things took a turn so did everyone’s opinion and talking points. I keep hearing “the flash”. He’s no different than he was in college. Turnovers are his downfall and he misses guys as much as they drop balls.
How, how is he going to win instantly. They have the sane terrible offensive line. The same garbage wide receivers. And the defense is mediocre with a superstar at corner. How is a defensive oriented coach, going to change all of those factors overnight? 8 wins? They won’t get 4………
They lost 4 tackles to injury in the first few weeks of the season and they franchise center not long after. They have the chance to get a WR1 in the offseason via a trade or free agency, and can use their draft capital (of which they have a lot) to bolster their other needs
@ right because those 4 linemen were all pros and are going to contribute to the betterment of the passing and run hand instantly after being out for majority of the season. The Patriots, known for being very cheap and not paying the players on their own building, is going to pay someone outside of their building. Gotcha. The team won’t win more than 4 games next season. Then what will be the excuse? “Drake maye” was injured. Well I wonder how that’ll happen, especially with their brand new amazing coach.
You don’t need an entire line of all-pros to win 5 games. The guys they lost are better than the guys that had to fill in. I will come back and rub it in your smug face when the patriots win at least 5 games next year.

But Colin, Vrabel is a defensive coach. According to you, defensive guys as head coaches don't work. Talking out of both sides of your mouth again. You're entitled to that it's your podcast, but damn starting to sound like Jersey Shore.
I am a New England fan but this roster is terrible. Bills drafting the last 10 years was terrible. I hope you’re right and I hope I am wrong. It’s going to take some serious drafting and some big time free agent signings.
Sure hes such a great coach😂 All the Super Bowls he coached give me a break whats his record 😅 Just do me a favor and call for his job when he loses more games than Mayo did this year!
Hey, give me a list of all the SB winning coaches available right now. At the very least he would have had enough brains to not beat the Bills in the last game.
@caelachyt Hey give me a list of Coaches that have won at least an AFc or NFC championship hes a joke and now the Pats are back to being a joke lol
@ Look at the Bills, never won a SB. Look at the jets, last won in 1969. Look at Miami, last won in 1973. Don't be a goof.
@@caelachyt The only thing goofy is that you haven't answered my questions what is his record? how has he proved to be a good coach?how did his last coaching job end up? why didn't anyone pick him up last year when he was available? Funny how Only the Pats wanted him! Everyone knows that the reason why the pats were good was because of Tom Brad you now have a reality of having 2 joketers run your team again and until you pick the best player ever to live ever again your gonna suck goof😂😂😂 I look forward to you not answering any of my questions because you have no knowledge and really just tried to troll me nice try though
@@dmd2652 You just can't stay away from the goofy talk.
He was coach of the year and went to the playoffs 3 times over 6 years. At least 4 teams were interested in making him HC recently.
Yeah, the Pats were good mostly because of Brady. Belichick was a good coach but not too good as GM.
nobody knew Andy Reid would fit into the KC run only world
he predicted Denver would sink
who prepped cowherd with sensible thoughts?
Aj brown wanted to be a patriot
Slow down Colin. I’m 2 seconds in and already have to sober you up. The Pats have 2 solid players. Maybe 4. Need everything else
I mean I know you are always promoting, but the commercials at the end have to stop.
No way they gonna stink and hes gonna get booted eventually but fail his way into another gig.
Better coached players will play better or be gone with v-rab..he dont play that ish
All the Pats roster really needs is one stud WR and a couple of solid OL.... and a real coach.
And TN had half as many wins this year as Vrabel did in 2023, despite drafting 7th overall, LMAO.
@ uhhh yeah because Harbaugh had Herbert and Demeco had Stroud. What are you gonna tell me next that Maye is on their level? lol…
And yeah Tennessee this year, with a trash rookie HC and an even worse roster than the year prior, beat New England. But go on about how they’re just missing some OL and a WR 😂😂😂
@@derektaitano6504 Just stop. For all you know Maye will be pro-bowl next year. The point is MANY teams can turn things around in one year. That won't fit with your cherry picking though.
Is this a question or a statement?
Vrabel didn't win with the Titans but will win with Patriots for some reason. Got it. Oh Yeah Belichick couldn't win with the Bradyless Patriots either.
Yeah going to back to back afc championships and falling short to the eventual champion isn’t winning lol
He got the Titans a number 1 seed with Tannahill. He’s was coach of the year! 😂
He did win WITH the titans
They were going to the playoffs every season, they were competitive with a team that's not much better than the patriots are now. Fell off when AJ Brown got traded, I'm not sure why they traded him. Maybe injuries or he was a locker room issue. Derrick Henry never broke out until Vrabel came, i know this because i was drafting him each year. Went from 1000 rushing to 1500 yards.
I'll tell you one thing, it's easier to convince players to come to Boston than Tennessee. I don't even know where that is
No Colin they won’t win right away
They will go from 4 wins to 6-7
I don't know shit about Vrable as a head coach, how the hell does Colin know. Eh , we will see. I personally am hoping for twenty more years of losing.
No he won't. If winning means 7 games, maybe.
🧢🧢🧢🧢
Lol you ripped off simmons heavy with the form
I’m so tired of hearing about harbaugh and Sean Peyton every single video
Vrabel is not a team builder.
Kool-aid drinkers. Vrabel will be here for only a few years. Maye, also gone. This team will not sniff the playoffs for the next 10 years.
Coming back to this video 1 year from now when the patriots are 5-12 lol
We better be in the playoff this upcoming year. No excuses. Apparently Vrabel made the playoff team in Tennessee not Derrick Henry, AJ Brown and Matt LaFleur 🤣.
Win right away? That roster is a skeleton crew
They have a QB. Thant’s more than half the teams in the leagues
Nonsense.
Win immediately is crazy with how depleted that roster is.
😂😂😂😂😂
Mike Vrabel is a terrible HC. NFL media sucks this guy off and it’s embarrassing
You sound like a salty titans fan
@ I’m a pats fan buddy
Daniel’s is by far a better quarterback. More confident. More ballsy. Better runner. You pats fans really will grasp at anything. Don’t forget yall said the same thing about Mac jones who had much better numbers. It’ll be another 5 years before the pats are relevant and maye has a long way to go
@@brett4932 I can tell you are a fan and I appreciate that. Maye may actually turn into a great QB, but people are talking like he's a sure and had some amazing season. Just saying to pump the breaks, we have no idea after 1 year and to assume otherwise is wishful thinking. You guys said the same thing with Mac Jones. How did that turn out??
Milton will take starting qb job .
Mayo didn't get none of this help
They have the #4 overall pick and the most cap room in the NFL
You don’t need an entire line of all-pros to win 5 games. The guys they lost are better than the guys that had to fill in. I will come back and rub it in your smug face when the patriots win at least 5 games next year.
They won 4 games this year wit a 1st time head coach 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️ and like everybody on dat defense got hurt 🤦🏽♂️
Vrabel will be fired in 2 years
Maye is so overrated
Again, the Patriots are racist franchises, giving the black coach 1 season with the worst roster in NFL 1 season should lose there first rd pick.
Aight Ruben , being black doesn’t give you a pass for being trash as a coach . I’m not even white or from Boston , but I’m a die hard patriots fan. You clearly haven’t watched the games this year. It was poor coaching every single score loss
Ruben stop calling everything racist. All that does is discount the cases that are truly racist. Hiring Mayo the way that ownership did by promoting within without a search, nepotism, created a very entitled team. This whole situation is a redo of last year.
And non black head coaches don't get fired after only one season?
@ Josh McDaniels might disagree lol
@amesorton thank u!
