- This is the second video on the same subject this time with bubbles. This video is going to show you that even the new modulator on top dosent help if the plate is trashed. This is an extremely common problem with these transmissions. Water and rust damage is the culprit here if you want to avoid this issue make absolutely sure to keep your air system dry and drained of any water. Hiya just watched your video it was fab.we use to have that transmission here in the UK. I believe if memory serves me right it was a12 speed. I remember the key way in the top cover breaking.and also at the rear of the transmission there was a plate with 2 bolts in front of it there was a pin to use to break and turn .driver would call say he stuck in no man land with his gears.would go out undo the 2 bolts remove the cover stick a screwdriver in the shift it hadT stamped in it turn it to the top fit a new cover plate on his way he would go.

This is a 10 speed Eaton Fuller top plate by the way but yes there are two different styles of this top. There is a key top and a lug style top and yes the key style top is known for breaking and leaving you stranded.
Hiya thanks for replying back. Well over here we're using these automatic transmissions I've not had anything to do with them really .There in Daf trucks volvo and scanias .There good when there going right but I no owner operator's that run them. Very very expensive to repair .ie if the computer on top of the gearbox goes thatcan cost up to £3000 pound. Lol I'm 57 old school I like the Eatons back in the day we had 9 and 13 speeds . Then Eaton brought out a gearbox called the Twinsplitter that was a fabulous box

I have a 13 speed. My truck is leaking air at the red splitter button, but only in high gear. I drain my tanks regularly. And have rarely encountered water draining from the tanks. It is an eaton fuller trans, not sure of model. But it is in a 22 lonestar, wiki 320k miles. It just started yesterday, and the leak is faint. But aside from it being annoying, I'm worried it's going to lead to further problems down the line.
It could be an issue with the splitter cylinder possibly rust on the inside causing air to bypass around the oring in the piston/cylinder wall.
Hi guys. I had a leak on top of the air module valve( valve itself was cracked and been leaking). With the old valve i had no leaks underneath the valve. I changed with the new one. In the morning when i move the splitter to higher gear i hear air noise not the click, but still changes the gears without problem. After 10 minutes works good, no air leaks sound and does the click up and down normally. What can cause this. Maming me crazy. I opened 3 times the valve..
Can that leaking top plate cause air pressure in the secondary tank not to build properly?

Hey bud I have a Eaton super 10 that got stuck in gear and I’m trying to get it back to neutral. I took of the tower and I’m playing with the bars. What do you think cause it to get stuck in gear? Should I be worry or could it be a simple fix
You may have a broken reverse gear snapring. It needs to come out to be repaired. It’s easy to break a mainshaft when this issue happens.
How do u install that top plate back on the transmission?
