And going through the smoke he turned his face away a bit in the remastered!
However the smoke vortex movement is gone from the original. Small detail but that made me impressed when I was playing it for the first time last year.

I like how in the remaster, you actually see Price pick up that AK from the soldier, instead of it just materialising in his hands like the original. Little things like that just bring it up to date with the latest in realistic games.

The one thing they did mess up though, was changing the gun sounds.
They should’ve kept the old nostalgic ones, but anyway still a very good remaster.
Just saying, it’d be better not to waste your money on the new Remaster if you have the classic MW2.
It’s just better graphics and audio quality, but then again you’d still be reliving the moment, but if you know what happens then what’s the point of playing? It’s like spoiling that Shepherd dies at the end, or the No Russian mission ends in you getting shot, (idea taken from Grim Reaper in the replies).

I remember replaying MW2 a few months ago and replaying Cliffhanger for the first time. I looked down to check how close I was to the edge when I realised I had no feet, and had completely forgotten how rare it was for FPS characters to have legs at all back in 2009. That meant I was especially surprised and happy with the remaster that I finally had feet again, however insignificant the change seems.
It’s nice to not be a floating torso again.

The Washington DC missions were beautiful in this remaster. Especially right after the EMP and the Whiskey Hotel portion of the missions.
Mega Eric Productions yes but the only thing I didn’t like is the soundtrack were almost silent, at least for me since when I play the original the soundtrack is loud and clear it’s badass

Just a clarification to the low IQ people complaining about the graphics and the fact that this comes out on Xbox a month later.MW2 was done way back in 2017 when MWR first came out Plus Mw3 was already close to being finished. Both remastered games are running on the same engine of MWR and B03. The contract was already signed for the 30 exclusivity with activision and PSN along with MWR,MW2R and MW3R. Hence why PS4 got the game earlier becuase of the contract signed before MW 2019. As far as MW3R. It could come out in 2021 since with Infinity wards game after BO 2020 comes out. 2021s release could be dogshit like IW or maybe a Ghosts 2 that comes along side MW3R. The Game could be totally remade becuase the PS5 And Xbox series X will be in their 1st anniversary and running on Better Hardware and graphics. MW3R could be possibly be running on MW2019s engine. A like would be appreciated if your reading this. Just wanna get it out there

The scene at 6:49 is one where I’m a little conflicted with the remaster, at least animation-wise. I loved being able to see Price actually take the gun of the dead soldier, the much more dynamic, realistic facial animations (notably the fact that we actually get to see Worm say “Who’s Soap?”), along with the animation of Worm lifting Roach off of the ground. But, at least to me, some animations were a little bit better in the original, mainly concerning Soap’s direct interaction with Price, for instance: Soap’s run-up to Price at the start whilst immediately saying “Drop it!” seemed much more “natural” to a military character as opposed to his newer walk-up and delay in the dialogue; his little toss of the gun before handing it to Price was a little more fun than the new animation of him simply moving it to his other hand; the hand-off of the gun itself. There’s my rant for this video. Awesome remaster otherwise.
I really don’t like it. The lighting and animation look very weird and off. the lighting gives everything this weird reflective shine and the animations look like they were made in sfm. while the graphics may have improved they it’s not faithful to the original, and takes the generic grey shade of colour everywhere instead of the colour that mw2 was so iconic for.
The gun flip in the original does NOT fit military protocol and is a big NO NO in actual firearms handling.
@@milky243 I agree in that they should have kept the original color palette, but I disagree in others. The remastered is not greyish at all, the original is, but not as much as MW3.
I don't really like how in the newer animation Price doesnt give the gun a 2nd glance, considering it was likely the same gun he passed to Soap at the end of MW1 to shoot Zakhaev with.

Im actually not bothered there is no multiplayer. The most memorable parts of MW2 were definitely in the campaign. Multiplayer matches can be forgotten or altered (by nostalgia) after the years, but you can always rely on the campaign to be awesome.
I'm sure a lot of people will disagree. The campaign was awesome no doubt, but what made mw2 a memorable thing was a combo of the campaign, multiplayer and spec ops. All three combined to make up a fantastic cod game.

Chris Garcia disagree. After playing the campaign 10 years ago, it just feels like a chore to play it now. Don’t get me wrong it’s a legendary story but the gameplay just doesn’t hold up anymore. As for MP, I’ve been playing IW4X and it’s been more fun than every cod since BO3 COMBINED. Even with commando, OMA noob tubes, and shotguns it’s still amazing.

I feel like they changed the enviroment's aesthetic in a lot of the missions, and removed a lot of the haze hanging over a lot of maps. not sure how i feel about it.
Yeah, in some missions I feel like they removed part of the atmosphere. Certain parts are too light now, fog is removed, blood effects are gone. It sure looks pretty, but not everything was improved.
The haze only existed because tech limitations to hide LOD scaling. Tech has improved so much in 11 years its magical

To be fair, Price is probably around his mid to late 50s. Soap is probably early to mid 30s too. But Price looks older here because of his time at the Gulag. He didn’t have really any time to shave either so his beard made him look far older.

@@purpleblunt6679 I get your point but calling it trash is a bit too much isn't it? MW2019 had the "oompf" in almost everything. It felt great. Having that little improvement if they do it right with the new engine to an old game would be an absolute improvement than straight up the opposite.
Rather than calling it trash maybe call it different in an odd way, or maybe it wouldn't feel right.
I personally like the original more . I think the originals colors made it feel more bland and thus more real . But thats just me , anybody agree tho ?

It’s soo good. Loved every bit. Forgot all the amazing weapons with no recoil. Really brings you back. Haha. The fact you can inspect each gun with a cool animation is so sick ! I wish war zone had it.
Beat it on veteran in like 8 hours. Also remember the old one not being too bad on veteran. The safe house mission was the hardest, I couldn’t make it out.
Can’t wait to play through it again and get all intel. But I’m loving war zone too.

I never played the MW2 campaign but I can tell that the feeling hit different in the original for the gulag when you seemed to be breeching in alone and being knocked down by price and seeing the barrel of the gun before seeing who was holding it as opposed to seeing price just point the gun at you in the remaster. As well as seeing soap come out of nowhere to “save you” rather than knowing he was there with you in the remaster when breeching.
You can tell its price while hes fighting with the guy and in that mission, you know soap is with you, even if you didnt, its not like price would shoot you anyway.
BiozZz I’m pretty sure Roach is with Soap the whole time. He’s just not present in front of you for the breach.
UA-cam doesn’t even do it justice. Playing this on my 4K HDR tv on the PS4 pro looks amazing! Plus the new ghost pack is dope asf. I would recommend buying and playing on hdr tv on PS4 pro or Xbox one x or pc when available April 30th

I don't like the way the underwater part looks in the remaster. It doesn't look like it's underwater. Everything is too clear, too reflective, and too detailed. The fogginess of the original was perfect.
The "fogginess" was to mask how much it looked like shit.

To be fair though, the last gen MW2 is still absolutely gorgeous to look at all these years later. Definitely one of the best looking and best aged games from the last generation.

I remember this campaign like it was yesterday day I was about 7 - 8 when my father got me this everyday after school we had this giant old tv that I used to play on and my dad would watch/play too it was great I miss these times where everything was simple and there was creativity and was new.... not just money hungry dev's who dont put thought in the actually game and dont care how to game works or feels the gaming experience is completley ruined now and I'm afraid of what will be coming towards the future.

I think the remaster is a perfect combination of improved graphics but not so much where it feels like a different game. It still retains that nostalgic look the original will always have but in a much more beautiful way. It’s like we all remembered it looking like this in 2009 but side by side it could pass as a new game. I know they remastered it in 2018 but I’m very happy they didn’t further “improve” it by 2020. Hats off to Raven Software (if they did this one).

Animations in certain areas of the remaster seem stiff and janky.
That’s wild, back in 2009/2010 whenever this released, I thought the graphics were insane! Ten years later and the difference is pretty large. Makes me excited to see what games will look like in another decade.
Its weird, while playing i really could not tell what was exactly improved. I mean yea textures obviously. I swear its exactly how i remember. But seriously at 3:37 is just insane, literally everything is improved but the same...
When people play a game they enjoy. It'll feel long lasting. No one would think "it looks decent" most would think "this is so much fun".
Graphics is only for a few months or years.
The memories of a good game lasts significantly longer. Especially if you enjoy it.
Its like your brain remasters the memory to keep it there. Holding it up well to today's games.
