Rust in Peace is the greatest heavy metal album ever written. It's literally untouchable. Holy Wars in my 35 years of listening to metal is the most complete and perfect metal song in existence.

I remember being a Metallica fanboy saying "Megadeth is crap" before I heard any Megadeth song. Anyway one time I've had enough of reading comments such as "Megadeth > Metallica" so I decided to listen to some Megadeth to be sure it's really crap. Maybe it's not that long but after 6 years Megadeth is still my favorite band and I'm sure it will be until my last breath. You guys are legends.
Tornado of Souls was the next song I listened to right after Holy Wars. Some people might not like Dave's voice but I loved it from the moment I heard it for the first time.
Lately I've been starting to accept the fact that Eternal Nightmare by Vio-lence is overall thrashier/better than Reign In Blood... Took me a long time to realize and accept it.
1:35, its probably Tornado of souls solo , Marty said after he did that solo, Dave didnt say anything, he just turned around to him in awe and shook his hand.

I fucking love Dave Mustaine. Almost shed a tear when I saw how exited he got when he talked about them feeling like they finally made it. Just pure emotion
You can spend hours talking about Rust in Peace discusing how great it is and you will never stop discovering how an amazing record it is. This is truly a masterpiece!!
This gave me goosebumps. Rust in Peace is pure lightning in a bottle. It totally blew my mind as a kid in the 90s, and it's still one the greatest albums I know. Absolute masterpiece in every regard.
I can only imagine how well this next album is gonna turn out after Dave is done looking back at his albums. The guy is going through a serious introspective spell right now. He’s been praising the hell out of Killing is My Business and Rust in Peace, the two most extreme Megadeth albums guitar-wise. Plus, who does this kind of thing before they’re retired? Someone who wants to write something even better... oh man. Knowing the kind of guy Dave is, I think he’s finally at the point in his life where he’s sick of the bullshit and the lack of real inspiration, and it’s actually turning into inspiration.
@@xxDeathMaidenxx In a recent interview, when asked his favorite Megadeth records, he said, "Well, other than the new one... Rust in Peace and then Dystopia." Hopefully it lives up to that.
Each one of them was at their very best. You can isolate each track, drums, bass, guitars each is a fucking masterpiece. Like Dave said in that interview, that was the perfect right moment, they had the experience, energy and motivation do perform way above any expectation. And they did.
I love how humble Dave is. This macho tough guy don't fuck with me persona he built on his early years still shows sometimes, but in the end he's a great guy who loves what he does and loves being surrounded by great musicians which fill in the blanks where his creativity falls short. It's funny how many people still see him as good ol' asshole Dave, but I think the guy just likes to speak his mind and there's nothing wrong with that in my book.
i’ve been listening to rust in peace for 2 years now every single day! i never get tired of it and every time i listen to it, i enjoy it as much as i did the first time... i believe one of the reasons why i consider being alive is because i get to listen to rust in peace over and over again. what a masterpiece; thank you so much for this great work of art... your passion has inspired me to keep on going forward in life and this album has become a huge part of me; i do love your other albums in fact megadeth is my favorite band of all time but rust in peace is just something completely different for me i can’t even explain it with words i never can thank you enough for this. thank you so much for changing my life dave... thank you. i remember the days that i would sit down and listen to holy wars on repeat and how those lyrics spoke to me growing up in the middle east all i witnessed my whole life was war and poverty and how organized religion destroyed my country and the only way i’d get peace was listening to that song and taking in all the passion and meaning you put into that particular song and i would feel it with every little inch of my mind and body.
Rust In Peace is the pinnacle of heavy/thrash metal. I can't name one album which delivers on so many levels at the same time. RIP is the ultimate metal album. The opening with Holy wars HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST METAL OPENING EVER. PERIOD.
Best metal album of all time, of any metal genre!! The guitar playing is so far above anything else that came out that time, and it still is!!! Put it against any modern release and it will smash it!!! Pure magic, lightning in a bottle!!!
Bisri Mustofa Dawn Patrol while simple is awesome. It sets up the last song perfectly and its makes the album flow really well. I really love Dave’s spoken word poem/lyrics how ever you classify it - they create really strong image in my mind.
This IS the album that made me Hands Down, Fall In LOVE with this band and become a LIFE-LONG FAN! The genius talent that is Dave Mustaine was questionable in the Early Days due to what I like to call the infamous Drunken Metallica Aircraft Debacle of 1984'. With that said, I'm glad things turned out the way they did. Like, if you agree in 2019!
If you listen to Hanger 18 it's like Dave and Marty are battling with guitars. One plays with the sound of love and one with anger. When music paints a picture in your mind you've created true art. Not many bands left that can do that. Twin guitar onslaught kc masterpiece with smashed potatoes! No desert needed
I love that David is giving Marty some respect and acknowledgement here. I have heard David say some disrespectful things about Marty since his departure. He honestly somewhat comes across as a man who talks bad of an ex-girlfriend to hide that he misses her when he does this. David is a good and smart man and purely talented. But his refusal to give up grudges... I would love to see Marty reunite with Megadeth. But sadly I doubt this will happen. Thank you, David, for giving Marty an opportunity. Your best album ever came from this chemistry!
As much as I love the 3 previous albums,Rust In Peace is the masterpiece! I saw them twice on that tour 1990-1991.I was 14.It blew my mind.Mustaine is a genius
saw Megadeth in Albany ny 9/10 got my picture with the guys, gave em all a light buckle bump i got star struck dave said enjoy the show and slapped me on my lower back. Dave is a solid dude awesome show and setlist
The best metal album ever made - yes, even better than Paranoid by Black Sabbath. "Rust in Peace" is the album I wanna listen to from the very beginning till the very end. Even the least favorite songs of mine "Poison Was The Cure" and "Dawn Patrol" are fantastic. I never get tired of it. "Tornado of Souls" is one of my favorite Megadeth songs with other classics like "Wake Up Dead", "Hook in Mouth". and "Rattlehead". It is just like Black Sabbath's first one, Iron Maiden's Powerslave, and The Beatles' Revolver - almost impossible to be hated.
Antonio - They all are good albums, even British Steel which is full of radio friendly songs. The Number of The Beast starts with "Invaders" which is an awful opening song.
Truly agree. Poison was the cure is really not as good as hangar 18, holy wars, lucretia, tornado of souls, take no prisoners. But it's still an amazing song. Really fast riffing.
One of a kind album. Love it forever. Life was so free feeling back then. I was a teenager in the 80's living the life of a metal kid. There was a sense of unity among the metal fans during the 80's and most of the 90's. I am honored to have lived that and miss it.
I hope it happens again on the next album. And I hope, Max Norman as co-producer again. Double album - Heavy songs, Melodic songs, Orchestra songs, acoustic songs, thrash songs. But... most important very well structure together with Max Norman. Not just a bunch of solos, but 'great solos' in the right moments. I love the Mustaine's vocals on Countdown. It sounds so well thought and meticulously design. As you see in the Making Off Youthanasia, the vocal lines in "Addicted to chaos" was an incredible achievement. It Sounds so together... line by line. Hard work of Mustaine and Max Norman. I love to see that happening again! Hopefully!
"It hasn't been influenced by revenge or anger. It was something we did because we love to play together:" This is the most important quote in the video.
In Sept 1990 I was browsing the CD section not knowing that day was the day this album was released. I saw it out of the corner of my eye and without hesitation snatched it up. It came in the old school cd longbox. That original disc is scratched all to hell and still plays without skipping. Since that day me and my circle of friends have said this was the best metal album of all time. To this day haven't been proved wrong yet
It's so good to see Dave talking about something with this passion!! You can tell that somone hasn't burnt out yet if you see that kind of passion and power in their eyes.

It's just so great, that I can't imagine my life without it. Thank you to all of you Megadeth! To both Daves, to Marty, to Nick (may his spirit rest in piece) and to each member of Megadeth that has ever performed songs from Rust In Piece live or helped to produce the album! I still hope that some day I will be able to see you perfoming live! Kudos to you!
100% agree with everything Dave said. It's awesome seeing him give Marty praise :)
My favorite Megadeth album. What a masterpiece!
Dave's vocals. Martys solos. Nicks drums. Great album! 🤘
He's celebrating the the 35th anniversary of Megadeth
poetic comment
word, plus dystopia was very damn killer so they can only get better at this point
@@xxDeathMaidenxx In a recent interview, when asked his favorite Megadeth records, he said, "Well, other than the new one... Rust in Peace and then Dystopia." Hopefully it lives up to that.
Rust in peace one of the best metal albums ever made .🥃🥃🥃🤘🏻🤘🏻
For sure there was a new fresh energy with Marty, but I think Nick had an amazing role in making everything sound so fucking tight.
Yes! Menza absolutely destroyed on that album
Each one of them was at their very best. You can isolate each track, drums, bass, guitars each is a fucking masterpiece. Like Dave said in that interview, that was the perfect right moment, they had the experience, energy and motivation do perform way above any expectation. And they did.
Everything about rust in peace is perfect from the music to the lyrics, vocals, production and cover art. Its perfection
He always talks about Marty Friedman so lovingly 💖
i’ve been listening to rust in peace for 2 years now every single day! i never get tired of it and every time i listen to it, i enjoy it as much as i did the first time... i believe one of the reasons why i consider being alive is because i get to listen to rust in peace over and over again.
what a masterpiece; thank you so much for this great work of art... your passion has inspired me to keep on going forward in life and this album has become a huge part of me; i do love your other albums in fact megadeth is my favorite band of all time but rust in peace is just something completely different for me i can’t even explain it with words i never can thank you enough for this.
thank you so much for changing my life dave... thank you.
i remember the days that i would sit down and listen to holy wars on repeat and how those lyrics spoke to me growing up in the middle east all i witnessed my whole life was war and poverty and how organized religion destroyed my country and the only way i’d get peace was listening to that song and taking in all the passion and meaning you put into that particular song and i would feel it with every little inch of my mind and body.
Master of Puppets ≥ Rust in Peace > Peace sells > Ride; Kill em' all; And Justice
all tracks in this album are superb , even it's just short jamming between bass and drum in "Dawn Patrol"
Bisri Mustofa Dawn Patrol while simple is awesome. It sets up the last song perfectly and its makes the album flow really well. I really love Dave’s spoken word poem/lyrics how ever you classify it - they create really strong image in my mind.
This is my favorite album of all time.
One of the greatest albums of all time.
Rust In Peace is by far the greatest Megadeth album to this day. Countdown comes in at a close second but RIP is, as Dave said, untouchable.
The first alb that ever truly blew me away. Such a good album \m/
JoeGuitar335 completely agree. Every song made my jaw drop a bit further
"How tf did i write this" literally was thinking abt that a few days ago, cant even blame him for praising his own album lol.
One of the best albums
It’s good to see him so animated and happy and he should be Rust in Peace is sheer brilliance a Masterclass in Metal song craft and musicianship.
The best album ever made! Thank you! \m/
One of the greatest album by anyone ever. Sheer brilliance all around.
Best megadeth line up hands down
saw Megadeth in Albany ny 9/10 got my picture with the guys, gave em all a light buckle bump i got star struck dave said enjoy the show and slapped me on my lower back. Dave is a solid dude
awesome show and setlist
Yes he's right, you can't touch rust in peace. It's their best album in my opinion.
This Album is iconic... One of the *BEST* Albums to ever come out...
The best album of all time😎👍
actually 26th
One of the greatest album ever in the Metal genre. This record along with Pantera gave me faith on metal not dying in the 90's.
My first and favorite Megadeth album
Rust in peace is my all time favorite metal album!
It is just like Black Sabbath's first one, Iron Maiden's Powerslave, and The Beatles' Revolver - almost impossible to be hated.
not powerslave, number of the beast
Antonio - They all are good albums, even British Steel which is full of radio friendly songs. The Number of The Beast starts with "Invaders" which is an awful opening song.
Poison was the cure is incredible are you kidding???
@@Rekko82 it's not
Truly agree.
Hopefully!
best Megadeth album ever.
one of the best metal albums ever.
FOREVER MEGADETH
FOREVER RUST IN PEACE
POLARIS!!!
Rust In Peace is my favorite album
AGUANTE MEGADETH🇦🇷
Alguien que me traduzca lo que dice dave :'v
I'll watch that on UA-cam and it's still crazy.
@@killerseddie8295 r u talking seriously?
Thanks! He have a great love for metal bands🤘
I send you a hug from Argentina 🇦🇷
@@nacho4336 Yeah, man! Watching the crowd, then watching Dave forget the words because he was stunned? Great video, brother! Thank you.
U Argentinian love Megadeth to death
Just one of the best albums of any type of music of all times. PERIOD
"It hasn't been influenced by revenge or anger. It was something we did because we love to play together:"
This is the most important quote in the video.
You're great Mr mustaine
It's so good to see Dave talking about something with this passion!! You can tell that somone hasn't burnt out yet if you see that kind of passion and power in their eyes.
Amo este álbum, no hay ninguna canción mala, todas las canciones son 10/10
Rust in Piece the whole album is a work of art. It has great songs. But when listening to it in its entirety makes it something above phenomenal, there are only few albums that is like that!
