Prophecy will unfold and the end of the world will come but worrying about it and instilling fear in the minds of the people will only bring havoc. We're at dark times because of the pandemic but it doesn't mean that we must panic. In the end, we have to live our lives by following Jesus and trusting in God no matter what happens; let the Holy Spirit guide our lives regardless of the coming changes in the world system.

Do you think that the idleness may also have been connected to the resurgence of Cynicism under the influence of Stoicism in the Roman Empire at that time? Paul encounters the Stoics in Athens; and, though they're not mentioned in the text, Cynics were in notable number in Athens and throughout the empire at that time. It's likely that any explanation is speculative, but it seems more plausible. I guess I'd have to do some leg work researching the likelihood of Cynic communities in Thess. at that time. So why is mainstream Christianity promoting the idea that the Rapture comes before the Antichrist appears?
@@LUX_8 Of course it does, but the prophecies in Daniel, the Olivet Discourse, Revelation, etc... were specifically for that generation of Israel and their adultery. It was the end of the Old Covenant and the beginning of the New.
Because the "Day of the Lord" is the end. It has nothing to do with the rapture. Why would the thessalonians think they had missed the day of the Lord? That's the end, you don't "miss" the judgment and destruction of the world. They thought they had missed the harpazo, the Rapture.

I do have one qualm with your claim at the 3:26-28 mark in the video: 'lots of puzzles and problems of interpretation'. Could you please clarify what 'the puzzles and problems of interpretation' are that are being referred to here? Are there cases where such challenges have arisen among the faithful? I submit that Paul clearly underscores the teachings of Jesus on the events of the last days, when the son of perdition, also known as the anti-Christ, will arrive, if this is the challenging part in the scripture that is being referred to TBP? I do agree that there are so many diff understandings on this and prophecy and his return. Not everyone of us will be right, and maybe most of us got it wrong.... But whether you believe in Pre trib. Mid Trib. Post trib. Or No Trib. What is the Paramount belief should be is have you Believed in The Only Begotten Son and Trusted in him. Is Your name Written in The lambs Book of Life. Be Ready. Be Watchful. And When He does return will You Go with Him or Be Left Behind...

We have nothing to fear fear has to do with punishment but those who are in Christ Jesus know that we who are sealed to the Dead Redemption we have nothing to fear about for we know the Lord speaks and deal with this person and we purify ourselves for like it says in Hebrews we are ready and willing and know that the Lord is coming back to receive us because in Hebrews chapter 12 verse 14 inches be holy without Holiness we can't see God and it says in Leviticus chapter 20 verse 26 it says in 1st Peter chapter 1 verse 15 through 16 where to be holy because our father in Heaven is Holy

Because the "Day of the Lord" is the end. It has nothing to do with the rapture. Why would the thessalonians think they had missed the day of the Lord? That's the end, you don't "miss" the judgment and destruction of the world. They thought they had missed the harpazo, the Rapture.

I love TBP, and always consult it for a quick and simplified overview of the books of the Bible. Thank you for doing this. I do have one qualm with your claim at the 3:26-28 mark in the video: 'lots of puzzles and problems of interpretation'. Could you please clarify what 'the puzzles and problems of interpretation' are that are being referred to here? Are there cases where such challenges have arisen among the faithful? I submit that Paul clearly underscores the teachings of Jesus on the events of the last days, when the son of perdition, also known as the anti-Christ, will arrive, if this is the challenging part in the scripture that is being referred to TBP?

I do agree that there are so many diff understandings on this and prophecy and his return. Not everyone of us will be right, and maybe most of us got it wrong.... But whether you believe in Pre trib. Mid Trib. Post trib. Or No Trib. What is the Paramount belief should be is have you Believed in The Only Begotten Son and Trusted in him. Is Your name Written in The lambs Book of Life. Be Ready. Be Watchful. And When He does return will You Go with Him or Be Left Behind...
I think 2 Thessalonians 1-5 makes it clear that there has to be a falling away first and the antichrist has to be revealed first, before we will be gathered together with God.
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

The whole professional Pastor or Minister thing really goes out the door in 2 Thessalonians. That causes so many problems in the church...they should be "tentmakers" like Paul...

We have nothing to fear fear has to do with punishment but those who are in Christ Jesus know that we who are sealed to the Dead Redemption we have nothing to fear about for we know the Lord speaks and deal with this person and we purify ourselves for like it says in Hebrews we are ready and willing and know that the Lord is coming back to receive us because in Hebrews chapter 12 verse 14 inches be holy without Holiness we can't see God and it says in Leviticus chapter 20 verse 26 it says in 1st Peter chapter 1 verse 15 through 16 where to be holy because our father in Heaven is Holy
