She’s a beyond amazing gymnast and an amazing role model to all who will follow in her footsteps. It is yet to be seen if the younger gymnasts or generations will be able to perform at her level, but at least they know precisely how hard Simone worked to get there. Simone has 30 World Championship medals 23 of them Gold including 6 all around golds and 11 Olympic medals 7 Gold 2 Silver 2 bronze and she missed Floor Gold at Paris by .033 due to a 2 steps out of bounds on her self titled skills had she not stepped out of bounds the 2nd time she would've won gold by .234 over Rebecca Andrade who scored 14.166 on Floor in the finals Ana Barbusu of Romania almost won Bronze on floor if there wasn't an inquiry on behalf of Jordan Chiles that would've been Romania's first individual event medal at the Olympics in 12 years after Dominating for the previous 10 Olympic Cycles including Nadia Comaneci winning 9 medals in 1976 and 1980 5 Gold 2 Silver 2 Bronze granted US Boycotted Moscow due to Russia's invasion of Afghanistan the prior Nov so for example the Men's Gymnastics team would've had Bart Conner in 1980 as it did in Montreal 1976 and Los Angeles 1984 and he won 2 gold medals at Los Angeles Team All Around and Parallel Bars the only time thus far the US men's team won Gold the only time they've done it before/since while the Women won Silver and the only modern Olympics in which US Women's Gymnastics didn't win a team medal was 1988 in Seoul South Korea and the only time they failed to win an individual event medal was Sydney Aus. in 2000 a member of the US Women's team has won individual all around gold 6 times Mary Lou Retton 1984 Carly Patterson 2004 Nastia Liukin 2008 Gabby Douglas 2012 and Simone Biles 2016 and 2024
