- The worst soap I have ever used , disclosure, I actually used this soap about nine months ago but it was such a horrible experience that I felt a video about it was necessary.
barsoap guy gets triggered. This is the best channel on UA-cam.
Lol sounds about right. Certain Castile soaps burn my skin but I ain't hating.

I actually like my Kirkland soap, not particularly in love with it, but was looking for info on any harmful chemicals. YOU, sir, were so amazingly entertaining, and man who understands the importance and beauty of bar soap is a smart man in my book. You have gained a subscriber.

I found one good use for this bar soap: getting rid of stalkers. My ex boyfriend stalked me. I tried just about everything to get rid of him. Finally, I decided to be "nice" and bought him a birthday present: Kirkland bar soap. It's been about 4 years now and he has never bothered me since. Lol.
I have sensitive skin and tried this once and once only I got blisters type on my legs I jumped out the tub almost in tears (tried writing them and got nothing back)
I have a medical issue in my ass and now it hurts to walk and sit so I’m glad I am not the only one with a similar reaction.

Honestly I had no problem with this soap however my husband DID!! Broke out in a rash all over his body. Was itchy for several days. Stick with a known brand like Dove even Ivory.
Try Kirk's in warm or hot months. Try sappo hill in colder months.

Undeniably that is true. Even Mr. Bar Soap himself has said as much.
I just (last week) purchased some of the new formula (i.e. "with Shea Butter")-it seems OK, but when comparing it to Dove; I think Dove would have the advantage. Of course Dove is twice the price, so we would expect it to be some what more, "refined." I just bought a 15-pack of the Kirkland ... I'll have to use it for a couple weeks before passing judgement.

The Kirkland Shea butter bar soap was AMAZING. It healed my partners eczema.
I just found this video because I stayed over at a friend's house last night and had the terrible misfortune of encountering this bar soap. It burned my lady parts so badly, I am still recovering. This has never happened to me before. I agree with the review 100%, buyer BEWARE .

I am so glad I found your channel and that you validated my suspicions. My mom decided to save money on a pack of this shit (after spoiling us with white dove bars forever) and it was so bad!! I only used it once and went into a panic afterwards because my lady bits were burning and I thought I had an infection. I didn't put two and two together until later but goddamn. We still have two hellish bars of it left because it seems my mom refuses to throw them away. Sometimes I just drop whole bars, wrapper and all in the trash. IT'S BEEN OVER SIX MONTHS and our family of 5 has not managed to get rid of them. I resorted to using up all of the weird soaps my friend has given me over the years, including one that smelled like beer. Anything is better than Kirkland. Anything.

I hope you don't give the Kirkland one to your family, I used this once and my skin got SUPER RED. I had to switch to body wash bc I was so scared.

BarSoap Guy but since you use bar soap a lot, do you use any moisturizer bc even moisturizing soap alone (or those fancy soap free cream bars like the Avene ones I told you about) alone can't do good to your skin

I was using this for a few weeks, and I agree this stuff is horrific. I had these red marks on my skin that looked like a sunburn from this stuff, and even after a shower I could still see some of the stuff on my skin. Switched to dove again and now I’m much more appreciate of decent soap!
Here I am, 9 years later solemnly watching this kind gentleman issue a critical warning to the masses. I had the misfortune of purchasing a bulk amount of this soap from hell, and if I had watched this public warning prior, I would have avoided the unfortunate acid burn rash on my twin peaks, my heavenly humps, my chachas. The amount of discomfort I have on my bosom, which in themselves should be giving comfort to others is indescribable. This twisted concoction… mis-marketed bioweapon should be given out to soldiers of the enemy disguised as a gift of peace. Barsoapguy, please repost this warning now in 2024 - as the Kirkland brand acid soap is still rampant and sold to unsuspecting lovers of bulk Costco deals. This is criminal. This is the worst of humanity. My chachas will never be the same.

I’m not sure if maybe the Kirkland brand reformulated the soap in the past 4 years, but I purchased some from Costco and I liked it a lot!

You could grind it in a food processor and mix the flakes w/ baking soda and borax to make a great laundry detergent. I’ve done it. No soap left behind!

I switched from Kirkland Body Soap to Dove and the Dove is horrendously cheap and awful by comparison.
All I was trying to do was find out if this soap was gluten free. Glad I didn't buy it! Thanks!

Tried Dove original and Kirkland from a different brand and the Dove completely stunk up the bathroom unpleasantly where the Kirkland has a lighter citrus smell to it. Did half my body left/right with the bars and since the Dove only feels slightly better but costs more with a smaller bar and has a reeking smell I'm going Kirkland Signature.
Just tried Dove Men's + Care bar and that one is better.
I work at Costco and I cant agree with you more. Smh! I bought this soap a few years ago when it first came out. By the second day, my skin was irritated and dry. Sensitive skin runs in my family so I was iffy about it anyway. I developed these little blotches around my neck(most sensitive part of my body), arms, stomach, legs and back. I felt like I had the damn plague. I wasnt so nice, I gave it away to some friends. Lmao! They never complained but they didn't say they loved it either. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. It sucks!!!
You should text your friends and tell them you bought another huge package of that soap , ask them if they want more ! lol ...

I last used this around 15 years or so ago, and as you mention it was either really acidic, or really 'basic', but it burned my face (made me look very slightly sunburned) but moreso it burned my forehead. I returned it, never tried it again.
Dear BarSoap Guy: I've used Dove for 25 years ... originally it was a 4.25 oz bar, then a 4 oz bar, and now it's 3.75 oz. No more; enough with the shrinkage.
So, I did buy the Kirkland Signature Bar Soap, made with 5% Shea Butter last week at Costco.
It's not Dove, I get that. BUT, have you since the NEW version of Kirkland soap (the new version says "5% Shea Butter"), have you thought about trying the new bar? If you do, please be specific about the various qualities, and how/why a quality is good or bad. That will help me learn as I'm choosing soaps now that Dove is taking advantage of us.
I haven’t tried the new one but I’ve heard only good things about it .

1) Regarding the scent ... I would have never thought of what you said, but I think you're right, it _is_ reminiscent of McDonald's bathroom floor-clean, but kind of, um, institutional.
2) after may years of Dove, the Kirkland does seem "drying." I don't want to judge too fast, maybe after several days. But one is definitely "squeaky clean," which is _not_ the Dove experience.
I should definitely try to get my hands on it this year , kinda surprised they haven’t made a significantly better product in all this time .
ive noticed dove bars have gotten smaller over the years. lately ive been using kirk's, big bars in packs of 3 for around 1.34$ each, or a big pack of ivory's bar soap for 4$ if you're really on a budget

I used this soap to save some of the dove soap bars I have at home (we’re running out), and boy do I regret it! Thanks to the bar, I now have red skin and a rash!
Ivory is the best or Jergens if you need plain cheap decent soap that does the job with little to no fragrances

My opinion: Ivory SUUUUUUCKS. It has a generic soap smell and I didn’t get a smooth clean feel from it like I do from the Dove bar.
@@fs5308 That's because they're not "fancy" sops, with all the nice ingredients. They're simple, inexpensive soaps. They behave exactly as expected. Clean; no frills.

lol this is hilarious. i remember a while ago i bought this thinking I got the best bargain ever, everything you stated was exactly my reaction, never bought it again. I hated the lumpy/crumbly bars and the soap scum was what really made me hate it. I use Dudu osun black soap now, hardly any soap scum and clear skin =].
That's an excellent black soap. The person that came up with this Kirkland soap at Costco, must have a lifetime contract.

I won't by this soap!!! Thanks for sharing with us!! I prefer Olay cooling white strawberry and mint body wash! It's my ultimate favorite body wash!!! Unfortunately the bar soap looses it sent after a few days, but cleans me well and soft!

@@BarSoapGuy I absolutly charish this soap! I lve usd it for years now. I love its nourishing effects on my skin as it replenishes the natural moisture. I love the scent as well as it reminds me of sunbathing a beach in fiji with naked women serving me martinis.

I cannot remember what kind it was but once I got mailed a sample of something soap. I love free stuff so I went to use it and it SMELLED LIKE FLEA SOAP...so I hot watered it down and used it on my 2 cats. They were used to me bathing ( and blow drying them ) them since kittenhood. I cannot remember if it did kill their fleas ( I think they had the drops by then ) but they smelled like flea soap. I don't think it's manufactured any more.

Years ago when we were quite poor I'd buy this exact same soap but from Sam's Club. It smells ok but yes it was very drying. Glad I can afford better now
This soap is just like ivory soap to be honest it’s like paint stripper if your oily bastard like me this is perfect. If you’re ashy or dry DONT use this soap

? I prefer this soap. Lathers very well - scent is mild (can't stand the cheap perfumes in almost all other soaps). Moisturzes very well - way better than Dove - so how this guy claims it's the opposite is beyond baffling. I don't get any soap scum - none. I suspect this reviewer either had a bad batch or his water is terrible.
My grandmother has this soap and gave me one and yes it did irritate my skin quite badly, it actually burns.

THIS GUY IS WRONG. It is actually the BEST soap I have ever used. Doesn't leave me slimy feeling like Dove. Creates way more suds than Dove. Super moisturizing and creamy. This guy is a drama queen. Everything about this guy says he should use Camay or Olay or some type of lady's soap.

Oh shit, bought it to save over dove, left the country with two, and mailed myself the rest...so sad because although the lather is great, the scent smells like reused oil or grease...I think the worst-smelling soap ever :(

You can indeed return products to Costco , I hold on to it for the horrible memories ...if you don't believe my review ,check out the reviews on costco's website ...how they haven't dumped this product is beyond me .

It feels like I sprayed pepper spray in my eyes. I used this on my private parts and to wash makeup off, and my eyes and face are on fire. I put on sensitive lotion which never stings my skin, and I'm screaming in pain. Every pore on my face is on fire 😢😢😢

My mom bought this stuff and gave it to me. She didn't want it for some reason. I thought ok free soap. To me it seemed ok until a month or so into it. It dried my skin out big time. I was always itchy with this stuff. Keep away.
Your review is a tiny bit biased. The review is aimed at the product in general as opposed to your experience with it. Whilst the soap was not suitable for your skin, and you did not care for the scent, it doesn't mean the product is terrible.
When I began this channel while I had used several soaps I wasn't nearly as experienced with different bars as I am today ..After countless testing of soaps this remains one of the worst products I have ever used .The Product is terrible .
Fair enough, I am unsure if Costco UK carry this, but will give it a miss if they do.

No, it is not the same shape as dove . This bar is larger than dove and unwieldy. Stay away from this product .
