I’ve been struggling with gain setting on my xAir for several years. Growing up in the 90s, I learned to push gain to just below clip. Thank you for these videos! I finally see why my mics feed back like crazy. I can’t wait to try -18db. Annoyed that it took this long to learn.
👋 would like to chime in here, - what you were saying about every channel adding 3db would only be true in theory (say if you generated two channels of noise at the same db rms level) but when you're talking about realistic audio signals adding together, the math isn't that straightforward forward at all. The implications of what you were saying would make mixing 100+ channels impossible if it were true.

Good advice. Thanks
they should have -18dbfs level indicator on the mixer meter not -20 and -10
The difference in sound is because you use different EQ settings for channels 15 and 16 !! (check around 3:35)
No. They are the same during the TEST. WE clearly stated after the TEST that we were back to our VO settings.
is the master lr same rule to output at -dbfs 18

Ironically, I find the audio on this video too quiet. Sorry, just saying. Good content.
It's even harder on the iPad app . There's no indication at all....
The +45dB sounds better.
