You're definitely nailing the feel from this dev log. I'll have to check your prototype later. Honestly, I'm really impressed by the art style. It's very charming!
This is so much my jam! I love how 3D platformers are slowly coming back and this is exactly what it needs, spins on the formula. Keep at it! I'm super interested,
I love the vibe of this game already, i have a mac, and i noticed i won't be able to play the prototype, but i still had some comments, like if there was a way that clops could wall slide with his sword or a way that clops could climb up with his sword or like a twin sword. definitely plan to get this game when it comes out, God bless and good luck to you.
Thank you so much! I'll see if I can get my hands on a mac and create a mac version and update you if anything changes! Those are good ideas! We've actually had some ideas similar to that- like if there's an unlockable ability where when you sword thrust into a wall you get your sword stuck on it, then you could pull down and fling yourself up
Hell yeah dude, I have been craving 3d platformers like these! Odyssey + legend of Zelda is just such an obviously awesome combo to me I’m amazed it’s not a huge thing already. You guys have made a ton of progress for just six months too. I’ll be buying this when it comes out. I may or may not get inspired by your art style for the game I’m making too ^^
This looks sick but it would be cool to see the environments turn out to be really large and cumbersome and have some elements of randomness with random walkways and bridges broken or going to dead ends kinda like the stairway in Harry potter
Love this!!! Here's a suggestion: Maybe you should create something like combo moves, that do more damage or let you bounce from enemy to enemy. Also love the platforming and rough-animation when you do wall jumps! Keep going!
That's a great idea! I definitely want to experiment more with combining combat and platforming in the future and combo moves would be awesome for that :)
this looks good. i very much suggest looking at other similar games on steam and try to figure out what makes them really stand out from other 3d platformer games and think about how you can stand out from them. 3d platformer is a harder genre for steam and it's worth thinking about these things early regardless.
looks super nice, some of the clips you showed remind me a lot of mario galaxy. you could def make something special if you keep iterating on the style :) will for sure be checking out the prototype sometime!

looks awesome, and i know its all very much in progress, one thing that stuck out to me was the dash/air dash/sword pull movement feels like the character model should be forming a straight line behind the sword to look like the force is dragging them, but might also be interesting for the dash to work different on the ground than in the air, and have the character resisting the pull by spreading their legs out like they already are but i look forward to seeing where u take the project, its looking to be very charming
Thank you so much! Yes, I definitely know what you mean. I'm planning to update most if not all the animations in the future and I want to play around with them to make sure they're fun and expressive!
I think you should for sure keep the first level and bosses to save on time. Just polish the heck out of it. Also, I think you should really utilize the whole eye thing similar to how Elden Ring does with fingers in a more N64 kind of way lol
@Rowan-g5n Thanks! I thought those were pretty decent ideas so I wanted to share them with the dev. This game has a ton of potential. I wish it had a Discord
Looking incredible! I cannot believe this game hasn't seen more exposure! Your character designs are very charming and I think you've nailed the style and feel that you're looking for. The rest will just take time!! I'll definitely be cheering you on.
It looks really good, as long as you keep working on it you're graphics skills will get better over time, also try using vertex shading to get a little more outta your textures. You have to write a shader in unity to support it, but it's a staple of the n64 style
Going to download what you've got on itch tonight. For combat, those slow attacks those demo enemies have has me thinking Dark Souls like but with more Mario-like enemies. What if the eyes you're collecting are different weapons, each could have a different attack speed, armor pen, and damage. However you decide to go, enemies could drop four different kinds of rewards, eye power used to power up your weapons or build charge for big attacks/combos, heart power which heals you, magic power which can be used to open up secret areas or power magic attacks, and some kind of currency that someone in the area is willing to trade for.
@@BrainFrogGamesThat boss fight looks epic! You could also do something with the music when he's winding up for a bit or about to shake that lets players know there's something about to happen. Does this guy have phases or adds?

@@DommoDommo I didn't cover it in this video, but there is actually another phase of the boss that's similar to what you said! I definitely want to experiment in the future though!
@@BrainFrogGames Maybe there could be dark levels, and he could turn into a light bulb to help you navigate through the darkness, and you could let out a small shock to enemy's, and/or he could turn into a pickaxe, and if there's a cave level, you could use it to mine through rubble to progress

You made an original magic world
the protagonist seems like Ogerpon
@u_charls_u Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! :) Yes, the crypt key does open something and I should've done a better job hiding it/ making it more obvious, I'll update the game to show that. If you'd like a hint, you're able to crouch down and enter the potters kiln
@@BrainFrogGames shovel! seems that have more range
@u_charls_u You found it!!
This looks like a lot of fun I’d love to help work on this project with you all I’m also working on a 3D platformer so this really looks like my style I’m a 3D artist by the way
@HeroGetsu Thank you so much! I think we are okay for now, I'm excited to see progress on your game though!! 🙏
Thank you!
go Indie! no need for a publisher
@dripchimp5947 Thank you! 🙏 I'm going to feel it out and do whatever's best for the game!
I hit "run anyway" im not gonna be happy if this is a virus
@randompandemonium4823 I promise it's not! I know it's a scary warning but it's only because it isn't a well known application, and it's a common warning with itchio games. Everything is safe and done with Unity, and thank you for trying it!🙏
@@BrainFrogGames I made a typo windows defender was trying to stop me, I wasn't seriously concerned. I lake how the game looks but the camera is really bad and made the game unplayable and I couldn't fix it in the settings, I look forward to a more complete demo.
also the olatforming just allows for walls to be scaled and it trivializes the platforming.
@randompandemonium4823 Thank you for playing and for your feedback! Yeah, the wall jumping is definitely a bit too over powered at the moment, I'll be sure to work on that. May I ask if you were using a gamepad or mouse/keyboard?
@@BrainFrogGames I used a mouse + keyboard
@randompandemonium4823 Thank you! I'm sorry for the issues, it looks like others have also had problems with mouse and keyboard, I'm going to look into it for sure
add elden rihg combat
@@sdgeasg I want to have a similar system for sure!
@@BrainFrogGames yay!
