Some random facts I want to point out about the author of "The Halloween Tree"; Ray Bradbury was the author of a good many short stories, some of which were adapted for the 1950s horror comics that were blamed for causing juvenile delinquency. His most popular work "The Martian Chronicles" was adapted sporadically into episodes of the Twilight Zone and radio dramas like Inner Sanctum and X Minus One. Of course most people like myself would remember his tragic yet heartwarming tale "I Sing the Body Electric" which was adapted for television into "The Electric Grandmother".
He also wrote the story the Ray Harryhausen classic “The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms”.

When it comes to animated Halloween stuff, MY top picks are even more obscure than yours.
That is...they're only obscure to a select few, either people who were born too late to see the content or people who haven't seen them air on TV during their childhoods that much
Here's hoping you do this for Christmas too, I mean you got plenty of material to riff on, both good like getting a present you didn't know you wanted and bad like getting a stocking full of coal

I miss the late 80s early 90s style of story telling. They didn't hold back on a hard topic just because it "might" scare kids. They tackled it head on and pretty much treated kids as young adults. Sure they would sad about it, but it treated them with a level of respect you don't see nowadays.
Heck, I still cry whenever I see the final episode of David the Gnome and they don't even out right say what was happening but let the events unfold naturally with acceptance.
Fun Fact: I liked reading books since 2nd grade and read a book about this movie since 7th grade.
Also, Aeon and Midnight are my two favorite demon ponies, Bliss is the best alicorn, and I love the fact that Thespio sounded like Mr.Burns from a family show. Bronies forever!

I thought I had dreamt up this movie. I've asked others about it and thought I made it up. Glad I'm not crazy.
Y’all’s chemistry was enjoyable as always! And I liked the surprise of the fall colors for the outro screen! Very nice touch!

Appendicitis is no joke. I had it back on Monday January 16th of 2016 and it ruptured right as I was going into surgery. If I hadn't gotten it removed, I would've been dead by the next day. So please don't joke about appendicitis like that.
It makes me laugh how stunned younger people tend to be that we didn't pull punches back in the 80's and 90's.

This being a book adaptation a lot was definitely left out because it was the 90s, if you're interested I suggest looking it up. Ray Bradbury is a great writer, Fahrenheit 451 is one of his famous works. It's got it's sweet friendship moments and brings me back to the shows I would indulge in as a kid(like Recess). Glad you guys had such a good time watching.

In the book, many more friends came to pip’s rescue. So he got to live longer than 4 years

Good job on this Halloween special! I remember watching this when I was young. There were indeed some flaws and rushed moments but it was a good introduction in terms of Halloween in general. And woah, did I hear correctly that Aeon had an out-of-body experience? I knew a few people that had that before, and not just the high adrenaline variety. It was fascinating from their perspective to say the least.
How in Celestia's name did I MISS this special! It's my fav Halloween special! I love anything that talks about different cultures!
I just watched this and I was laughing my ass off with how you guys acted for this review. LOL! Also I remember this movie from my childhood and it was one of my favorites from Halloween. I also liked what you pointed out about it and yes now that you mention it I wished they showed flash backs about Pip and what his friends talked about in their past with him.

This is my favorite Halloween movie since I was a child. Thank you for doing this review. I agree with what all of you highlighted from it.
Blizzy, you have some creepy and cooky and scary and spooky but very good friends. It is always a treat to watch your Halloween specials with them.
I wish you could watch the Latin Spanish version of this movie, Moundshroud's name is a flop, but the voice, oh, the raspy voice, and the personality the voice actor gave him... To me it is so much better than the English version. Though the rest of the voices suffer from that eighties/nineties too-fake problem, it is still very enjoyable movie, and reminds me of the time of innocence that enthralled me towards the fantasy genre.
3:26 Interesting how, in both of those trios, she mentioned the only two *worth* mentioning first: "The Emporer's New Groove" and "Cats&Dogs".

If I remember correctly, the pyramids shape was also symbolic, I heard they were built that way to literally point the spirit of the entombed to heaven... Or whatever Egyptians saw as heaven anyways but you get the gist
Also, fun fact, Ray Bradbury was best pals with one of the pioneers of stop motion, the monster maker himself, Ray Harryhausen, as well as sci-fi fandom founder Forrest J Ackerman.

As a Trek fan, I'm offended that when Nimoy's character says "Undiscovered Country" and not a single Star Trek VI joke.
Fun Fact: Undiscovered Country is a quote from a Shakespeare play referring to the afterlife.
For the Egyptian family I remember that some architect that worked on burial sites and all that were allowed momification or at least could afford it so maybe that one dude in that family profited from that arrangement.

I waited forever for this to show up on TV as a kid. To me it wasnt Halloween until CBS or ABC showed it on Saturday. That and the Monster Ring. These were halloween necessaties.
