He is not to be blamed for that. He thinks he is taking care of her, but is completely unaware of the fact that Amy is not the kind of person who needs that type of care.
I don’t he sealed his own doom, well if he did then it was to let her into the house when she killed him get back to nick. She was just using him and he was controlling her and planned to keep her. This whole movie is full of flawed people.
He took the control from her with the remote also cutting her ties with the exterior world, he threatened her with these security cameras, he told her he was never going to let her get away ever again. This scrne was full of innuendos that he was a very dangerous man for her.
I read the book so I know Desi's perspective. Amy put on a whole sob damsel in distress story, and she needed Desi to protect her 🥱 Desi he used to spoil Amy back when they were together in hopes she'd fall in love w/ him. He's actually quite harmless
They are mirror images of each other. This is why the director focuses on the door. It’s not a mirror but on the other side lies a narcissist who only wants to create someone like Amy created Nick
Am I the only one who found this scene to be relaxing? Just the way Neil Patrick Harris speaks in this scene & the relaxing low lights of the beautiful house? Yeah, probably just me haha 😆
Can we kinda agree that Neil Patrick Harris is a quirky choice for the role? He nails it and it’s a favorite of mine in any Fincher movie. But it seems odd at first, like Fincher was flipping through a casting list idly, closed his eyes and pointed at a name and Harris came up. That Harris then gave the performance of his film career is all the more satisfying.
In my opinion, the most quirky choice for the roles in this movie are Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tyler Perry. They were all were cast against type to do something different from anything they've done before. Pike is known for her sweet innocent look, Perry is known for his comedic chops and Harris is just Barney Stinson. And yet Fincher turned them into something else and knocked it outta the park
I just read the book (best book ever) and I don't remember him mentioning any security cameras. I could have missed it honestly but I remember the front gate being locked with her not knowing the security code but don't recount any cameras. I think adding the cameras was wrong because it's an evidence against her and she's supposed to be never caught because she's very clever.
The first thing he does that seals his doom is turning off the TV while Amy is watching it. He already signals that he wants to control her.
It not control, he wouldnt want Amy to watch her Abuse Husband on Tivi (base on what she told him)

Why is no one talking about “And I am not letting you get away again.” HOLY SHIT WHAT AN INCREDIBLE LINE

I wonder if Desi was a house realtor or real estate mogul in the novel cuz I love how he explain the house here!
He comes from generational wealth.
Desi really effed up when he turned the tv off while Amy was watching...that look she gave him says IT ALL

Part of playbook- never hookup with married novelist

Harris should have gotten a Supporting Actor Oscar Nomination for this film in my opinion.
. Little did he know how it was going to turn out for him...
Sherri papini must have thought this was like the best thing ever. Gotta love the papster.
the casting in this movie was picture perfect. they had every character down to a t. except for tanner bolt...but he wasnt too bad either i guess
He was one of the better castings lol
Disagree. He's perfect as the character who's like wtf these are some crazy ass white people
I think he’s great in the role and left turn of a casting choice. Tyler Perry? Odd, but then he crushes every scene
Perfect couple 😘❤️
Want that bed🙂
If only police find the footage on security cameras of her and desi coming in lake house on her 3th day of missing she will be caught
3rd😉

Coucou ILAN , coucou Laure kiki , vous avez subi des embuscades de guerre, l appât et l hypnose
NPH was miscasted because the Barney Stinson I know isn’t some simp 😂🤣
Why weirdos always have money.
it takes a certain mindset to acquire wealth unless you’re born with it or win the lottery. that’s why most people are poor.
@@bloodaonadeline8346 You're not talking seriously 😂
He was likely born into it.
It's the money that allows them to be weirdos
He was born into wealth. He met her when they attended a private boarding school for the elite.
Doogie howser
*sighs* VINNIE…
