My mom's Peace Lily's leaves are developing browning around the edge. I googled the problem. It said that the plant was either not getting enough water or too much water. She's been taking care of her for a year without any problems. Suggestions for this issue?
you can topdress most plants! If they are a bulb or tuber you may not want to as planting too deep can be an issue. I have popped plants out and put more soil on the bottom though and then just popped right back ontop. Had great growth and didn't need to repot or upsize!
I have often added some soil to the top....an example being my smaller pots of hoyas that I sometimes overflow with water. Eventually the soil runs out, so over time I'll have to add some.
Sometimes I add a tiny bit of potting soil on top, but I usually add Earthworm castings to the top of my plants. It looks like soil but it also adds a tiny bit of Nitrogen and reenergizes the existing soil. I use liquidirt and bottom water most plants so my soil level doesn’t usually get low.

That is awesome you are starting them young with learning about plants!
@@EverythingPlants lol he isnt young but he was started young! He is 18 now and he and his GF went to Italy for the summer! They are out East now for her birthday so I am babysitting the cacti :D I forget about them because they are in his room, but i hear cacti love heat and neglect so YAY! They were very much hydrophobic though so they got a good rain in the bathroom sink. Shouldn't need watered again until 2023 right? :D
If you spray painted your utility light cones a matte black you probably would be much more satisfied with the appearance
This is actually brilliant.....thanks so much Syphira!
Where did you get your plant shelf? I've got so many plants and not enough space for them since I moved in with my mom. Her house is full of items, so there's not much room for my items, especially my plants.
Hey Beverly. Here is the exact one I got...

Thank you for the discount on Soltech! I love their look but they are rather expensive.
Yes, but I'll be buying another one as they look so nice. Even my wife likes this light and my plants love it!
@@EverythingPlants so you would say it's totally worth the money? I have a bulb already but it's too heavy for any of my lamps. (Trying to be cost conscious). So I cannot use it at this point.
@@dbbrbc these ones were given to me to review, but I would definitely buy one if you want a light that also functions as home decor. I think of it as replacing a lamp (which can also be expensive) So for that reason and that my plants do really well under the light, then I do recommend them. Ultimately it's what you are looking for in your place. Dobthe cheap Amazon ones work...yes, but personally I hate how they look. Hope this makes sense and helps.
do you have any tips for a Alocasia Polly,i just got one and i love your videos
I've never had this one specifically but I do have an alocasia care video out
@@EverythingPlants thank you for info
Your dogs are just adorable 🥰 🫶😌 Jeff
Thanks! We think so too haha
My mom's Peace Lily's leaves are developing browning around the edge. I googled the problem. It said that the plant was either not getting enough water or too much water. She's been taking care of her for a year without any problems. Suggestions for this issue?
I would guess not enough water. And they also get brown spot if it's getting too much light
What's the breed of your dogs, your video is awesome.from New Zealand
Hello! Pickles is a mini dachshund/poodle cross and Oscar is a cocker spaniel!
I have a friend that just moved to New Zealand. Thanks for watching!
Can you add soil to plants that are getting low on soil, or do you repot them?
you can topdress most plants!
@@EverythingPlants right, thanks!
Love the pups!!!! 💚
Thanks!!!
