Ooh, cool use of steel drums and... marimba/xylophones... I can't tell the difference by ear alone, even though I used to have an old Clavinova (electric piano with a bunch of instruments on it). Very cool!
Thanks! Steel drum has a way of instantly transporting you to somewhere near water, but I didn't want it to feel suuuuper tropical. So was fun trying to write something that felt more underwatery than tropical beach party. And it's mainly marimba throughout. I think the xylophone layers with it once or twice though. Good ear!
