Air Supply's music is the sound tract for me dating my wife. We actually met Graham Russell (the tall one) when they were in Phoenix in the early 2020s. It was 40 years after we dated. Graham was a real down to earth bloke (guy). When we met, he offer to buy me a drink. Couldn't have that so I bought him one. We spoke for quite a while. Told him their music was the sound tract of our dating and he laughed. I knew why he laughed, but he didn't have to. He said that he'd heard that alot. In the words of my father, "Graham was good people. I am biased, but I love Air Supply.

Saw them in person many times back in the day…sounded as good live as recording. In fact, once, Russell had fallen off the stage the night before and broken some ribs. It was touch and go whether they would be able to perform that night. You could tell he was miserable, but he sang, held on to his ribs at one point … and still hit the note.
Just saw them last weekend and they sound awesome still! That is Russell Hitchcock’s voice. He just turned 75, has a smoking hot wife, is all tatted up, and fit! Great show look for them in your area.
Air Supply is a soft rock duo formed in Melbourne, Australia, in 1975, consisting of Englishman Graham Russell (vocals, guitar) and Australian Russell Hitchcock (vocals).

I was ten when the wreck happened. Grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in Shorewood, Wisconsin. The event itself was a formative memory. The song became a huge top 40 hit. I grew up haunted by this song. Fast forward to teaching 4th Grade in the inner city of Milwaukee. I taught the history of the State of Wisconsin. Once we got past glaciers, I did a study of the Great Lakes Water Highway as it was the path on which traders, missionaries and explorers took that led to settling the area known as the midwest. As part of the Water Highway, we also studied Great Lakes ship wrecks. Every year, on November 10th, I taught this song. We read the old Milwaukee Journal articles on the event, followed by reading the lyrics, before ever playing the song. Once I played the video (the one that highlights pictures of the ship, the crew and the bell), you could hear a pin drop in the classroom. Inner-city 10 year olds sat in silence and reverence for the story, the power of the Great Lakes and the men whose lives were lost. Kids cried. Many went home, told their parents about the song, came back and asked to hear it the next day. A testament to the power of music, the power of folk music in our history. Music transcends culture.
Being that I was a teenager, back in the 70’s and early 80’ music expressed true feelings and were used to say what a person couldn’t. We were so blessed back then and that music can be enjoyed by others for lifetimes to come.
I have 2 sons, ages 25 and 26. They went with me to my ear doctor about a month ago. It's a father/son business. The son is in his 30s. We were talking about music and somehow this band came up. He had no idea who these guys are. My boys started singing songs. I just looked at him, shrugged my shoulders and said "They have vast musical knowledge". Made my kids laugh.
I was in the same music studio in Sydney that this band was recording in when they heard the news that this sing reached no 1 in the US...biiiig party ensued
I'd never noticed that before. . . he really does look real similar to Conway. No effects on his voice, that's all him. I'm 2 years older than BP. I've known my husband 25 years (married 25 in October) we would send, no jokes, mix tapes to each other. We each had a couple Air Supply songs on them...totally unplanned. *Dream weaver by Gary Wright* was one of our songs, another that he'd never heard was *Alison Krauss and Union Station's version of When You Say Nothing At All* .
Great to see/hear you have a shot at another good Aussie band. A cool little side story here about Air Supply. They began in the mid 1970s and released their first album here in Australia called "Air Supply" in 1976. The two leaders of the band were Russell Hitchcock (the little guy with the amazing falsetto - you said reminded you of Conway Twitty) and Graham Russell. By the time the first album was released, Jeremy Paul had joined the band, although he later dropped out and it was pretty much a duo act from then on. That first album, released on CBS, did well in Oz and spawned their first hit single "Love And Other Bruises". The second single, "Empty Pages" was also excellent and got radio airplay, but didn't quite hit the spot. More albums came, "The Whole Thing's Started" in 1977, "Life Support" in 1979 and "Lost In Love" in 1980. The guys were trying for a shot at the North American market but couldn't quite crack it and once the "Lost In Love" album stalled, in frustration they decided to call it quits. At that moment, at this career low, Russell Hitchcock was in Sydney looking for some work and agreed to record a radio jingle package for 2WL, a radio station in Wollongong, a beachside city just south of Sydney. I worked at that radio station at the time and little did we know that we just got VERY lucky. Unexpectedly, a new shiny thing called MTV got hold of Air Supply's "Lost In Love" video and gave it good rotation. Suddenly, the single was smashing the U.S. Billboard charts, suddenly the band was back on the road again and suddenly 2WL radio had a fabulous fresh original jingle package voiced by one of the hottest new acts in the world. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I was 10 years old in 1970 and was so blessed to listen to the entire decade of beautiful talented voices in romantic songs with no auto tunes! Just pure talent 😊 Thank you for your great reaction ❤
They remind me so much of Bread. I got all the same feels from both. We still love to be spoken to like we’re the only woman in your life. That doesn’t mean you own me.

You crack me the hell up
I have 2 sons, ages 25 and 26.
That's how he sounded. Love them.
I saw Bryan live in Hershey, PA years ago. He was awesome! You should go home, play this for your wife, dancing to this.
He is in my list of top 5 vocalists. EVER
They still perform and sound great
Back in high school this was my then girlfriend and i's songs. 24 years later she became my wife and I lost her 3 years later. Everytime I hear anything from Air Supply it brings a tear to my eye...
Music royalty right there. It was so nice to see you react the way you did.
