Interestingly I thought it was actress Bridget Fonda who was playing the customer here, because in the beginning she asks if the movie is called "Point of no return", and I thought it was maybe a funny reference. I checked that movie (there's a movie with that title from 1993) and Bridget Fonda was in it, and they do look a bit similar, so I thought it was Bridget Fonda!
Best Denzel impression I have ever heard. Given his wide repertoire, Jay was totally underutilized at SNL and at the time, I was shocked to hear SNL let him go.
@@clairerose6907 He and Taran Killam were let go at the same time. It's a shame because they were both great at doing impressions. Jay's Denzel, Will Smith, Kanye, Katt Williams, etc., and Taran's Eminem, Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher, Piers Morgan, etc., were dead-on. And their original characters like M.C. George Costanza, Daniel Frye, Jebediah Atkinson, the Merryville robot/animatronic. They were hilarious.

This is one of my all time favorite SNL skits ever. Jay nails the impression and the line of questioning could have been from any one of a dozen actual Denzel movies.
heres johnny the skit was a little awkward, I couldn't laugh because all I was thinking was that poor woman but that just goes to show the dude is really good at acting
Ropsana Khanom, This skit was made years ago, when people were smart enough not to be over sensitive and appreciate a joke. Unfortunately not today, just look at you. Crying because you felt a woman was getting verbally assaulted in the skit instead of enjoying the comedy. The way people view things has fundamentally changed for the worse.
Sean Steel you are reading way too into it 😂😂😂 the guy put me on edge with his questions and if the customer was a guy I'd be saying the same thing because the return counter gives me anxiety man. I like how you think I'm being over sensitive when it's you that's gotten the wrong picture because I started off watching this as a comedy but then shit, it became a tense drama in my head where I was in my seat wondering if she'd get her money back or not. Verbal abuse be damned I don't give a shit, honestly you need to chill some more and realise not everything is about, well whatever you're on about.
Pretty sure Jay literally channeled Denzel's spirit. Somewhere Denzel had stopped moving, with a glazed over look in his eyes, bcuz Jay had to have borrowed his spirit. The impression was SPOT ON! Not just the voice, but *everything.*
J.3 yes, he does reminds me of Melissa Villaseñor.... mmm, maybe it's time for both of them to get together and do comedy stunt. It will have a lot of reviews!

Best Denzel Washington impersonation I’ve ever seen.

Leah Smith , agreed.

agreed , great interpretation, alot of Training Day Swag in there 👏👏👏
You could even say.... he Amorphed into him
I'll show myself out
Agreed! The lips & two-finger hand gestures are crazy funny! 😆
Just saw this now. Agree with you Amorphis 💯 👍
Lies again? Good impersonations are hard to come by. I bet every teacher wished for that
Even the facial mannerisms are spot on.
@@achism1Denzel said he loved it and even did a video with him after this
its so weird to see jane lynch playing the intimidated one.

I would love to see her and Denzel working together as themselves
This guy. This guy. This guy has talent...
HE HE HE....My Man
''Maa Ni...'' You know.
Jay was OVERLY talented, OVERLY underrated, and EXTREMELY under appreciated
@Menace Dennis fired
Taram and Jay killed it on SNL
@Menace Dennis he didn't want to do a skit where he was in a dress
Real he was really good, wish he were still on
@mic mccoy he was doing a interview and said there was a skit where he'd be in a dress and he refused to do it so he quit
"Did it change color ?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Best Denzel impression I have ever heard. Given his wide repertoire, Jay was totally underutilized at SNL and at the time, I was shocked to hear SNL let him go.
It is still schocking to me. He is one of the most talented impersonators they have ever had on that show.
Guess SNL returned a black hand bag coz he didn’t match their shoes
SNL let him go? That’s insane, he’s terrific!
Seems there are so many funny and extremely talented people who seem to disappear from one season to the next. Cheri Oteri comes to mind.......

As someone who's spent 24yrs in retail, I looooooooooooove this. "You knew what color it was when you bought it, didn't you?!!"
We need more retail-based sketches. Spent about 13 years there myself.
At first, when she said "it was the wrong color", I didn't really think about it until he said this line xD I laughed sooo hard

This is where Denzel did research for the Equalizer
That's Denzel in almost _every_ role that he's in 😁🤣

This is the best DENZEL ever! WoW!
This is up there with Chris Farley living in a van down by the river for me. I've seen this a hundred times and am blown away every single time.
Perfectly valid point....she did see the color of the bag before taking it home 😂😂😂
I hope Denzel himself watched this one! 😎
That Denzel impression is SPOT ON??!!!!
When he came in laughing I was like whatttt
“ Wrong color!? You knew what color the bag was when you brought it home!”

He does an amazing Denzel voice.
When Jay Pharaoh walked off the crowd should’ve given him more energy than that, wtf
The way that the skit was playing out I think that maybe they thought that he was coming back.
I did think he was coming back. I wanted him back.
his mimic absolutely looks like denzel. the intonation was just f**king right compared to denzel's

He even looks like him. LOL. That's one of the best impersonation I've ever seen.
This isn’t just the greatest Denzel impersonation ever. This is one of the greatest impersonations period.

Absolutely. He could impersonate a black celebrity impersonating another black celebrity.
he couldn't do Idris Elba
any black celebrity and Jason Statum.
