I remain amazed at how long he continued to write and speak for his people. This was recorded during about the 12th year of a just about 15 year battle with leukemia.

My hero. If everybody was like Edward Said our world would be a wonderful place.

I totally admire the late Edward Said, a courageous champion for his Palestinian people, even though an American citizen and distinguished scholar. I heartily recommend his autobiography, " Out of Place" It really is a tragic tale, the fate of the Palestinians.

Why can't this tv host let the man finish a few sentences?

I'd like to see the interviewer get put in solitary confinement, not get fed and get abused by guards, let see if he won't respond violently.

The name of the show is HARD TALK, the whole fucking point is pressing the guests with hard questions, every guest gets the same treatment, the host didn't force him to come and take the interview.

Providing Said with a strongly opposing view for purpose of debate is all well and good, but the amount Sebastian is legit shouting over him is ridiculous

Why do people come online and still not understand this unique journalistic style? Its a British style of Journalism. Dats the style. The guests know and they agree to it. Points, counter points, interruptions are all allowed. Dont like it, dont come on the program.

@Sundrumify thanks thanks thanks back ;D I agree!
    like FD once said :
"Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation, are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has and it never will." Frederick Douglass

the host is so rude and load, who has no patient to listen , and does not want to learn the truth, just trying to gest as an intellectual and having such a programs, but seeking other things out of that
