It does sound pretty throaty! I like how it sounds at Idle / siting. It would be cool if it were a 350 or 370z - but I'm not sure it fits an SUV with a CVT transmission when driving, haha
I have an 09 murano sl and my cats got clogged too. It was making the motor buck real bad. Took me forever to figure out that was the problem. I just deleted one of the cats and it ran smooth again. The Murano has way too many cats.
Great comment! I never realized this was a big issue, but apparently it happens a lot? Glad it's a simple fix ;) Car's run so much better & more fuel efficient without them anyways...
@@EYVOAuto Yes sir. Well now my step motor in the transmission needs replaced and I just realized that the trany fluid hasnt been changed in 180000 miles. Mines runnin like crap again.
That is a great question! I would seek advice from a professional exhaust shop! This poor car had the cats die and the previous owner decided to delete them along with the muffler and add straight pipes through... Good sounding v6 though
Haha, love the car! Buying an actual exhaust is the best option, but if you're on a budget... The previous owner removed the cats and the rear or main muffler. He then welded new pipes out the back and used the original exhaust tips so it looks stock. I wouldn't recommend removing the cats because it can affect how the car runs and you will get a constant check engine light.
Bad luck that you don't have the model MO programmed with the 5 or 6 simulated gear ratios that can be held/shifted through in 'manual' mode or switched to full continuous mode. You might have been able to get a redline gearshift exhaust note out of 4 or 5 'gear changes'. lol
Thanks for watching! We never had a moment with this car when it didn't have multiple warning lights on... Not to say they aren't great cars! During our time they were mostly voltage related / minor issues. Of course the check engine light was for the catalytic converters... the previous owner had chopped them off... An evap code here and there but we got those fixed with a new purge valve and vacuum lines. The TSC light was on for a while after killing the battery too many times - but went off around 3,000miles later. The TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system light) was on and is on in most of these because the system just doesn't work - not a big deal because I know I have four tires not 3 and can tell when there is a flat, which we luckily never had. Seems like there was another light for a while after a dead battery. If you kill the battery on these it can throw all sorts of warning lights that are hard to reset, even though everything is working properly...
Thanks for watching! I need to get back to making videos! Unfortunately, we sold the Murano just after crossing 200k. Think back to this car often as my favorite SUV we've owned this far.
Awesome man, thanks for watching! I'm on Instagram at EYVO_Auto. We put around 13,000miles on this in the year we had it. Sold it and "upgraded" to an 08 Honda Pilot. Man I miss the fuel economy and smooth ride the Murano had! As far as the exhaust goes: I can't recommend modifying it in this way since it isn't legal to mess with emissions... However, the previous owner of this car had removed the catalytic converters and welded straight pipes through them. He also removed the large muffler at the rear of the car & welded in some straight piping and put the tips back on. I believe he left the longer mid resonator you see kind of in the middle of the car. You could however remove the cats and hollow them out & put them back on, and remove the rear muffler for the same effect. Be warned, if you have the CVT auto transmission and do this the car will have a very similar loud drone as a snowmobile on the highway. It sounds good at idle / reving, but driving gets annoying very quickly. It might be worth looking into seeing if there is an exhaust you can buy for the car instead.
Damn that thing sounds sweet! At idle it sounds like a V8

The sound is incredible, im from Argentina, i need buy this car. Nissan Murano is amazing (excuse my inglish).
Your video impulse me
Thanks! I've actually really enjoyed this car!
I had a straight piped Infiniti G35 this kind of reminds me of it
now you got me wanting to put an exhaust on my 06
Do it! I'm shocked how this car sounds, but I guess it is a V6... Just didn't expect it
Sounds phenomenal 👍🏾
Not too bad!
That sounds badass!
Surprisingly good!
Badass

Good stuff man !
Thanks!
where do i start to put an exhaust on my 18 murano V6 engine…. like which is the best ones?

So your running one resonator only on one head . or collector into res? Im confused
Sorry, this car has two mufflers. A mid muffler and a big one at the back. My car is missing the muffler at the back and the cats.
Your advice please we have an exact model Nissan Murano 2016 what can I do to make it sound like that for my wife hello from texas

Yes ours already looks stocked from prior owner but I want it to make a nice clean zoom for people to look and say DANG LOL
That sounds badass!

Yeah, no manual mode here :'( The drone on the highway is terrible as you can imagine...
What about the engine code(s)? My car is 2009. 13 years old.

Sounds like a 350z
Haha, it kind of does! Same engine basically... mostly... sort of...
You still alive? Is the car still alive?

@@EYVOAuto How do I do the same mod?
It should sound like that it’s the 350z engine just a different configuration
Hey man I have a Murano too and would love to know more ab how u did this any chance u could reach out to me and send me some info

Same engine a 350z or a Infiniti G35
Yes sir, that's my understanding. At least the block & platform
They could of had potential but they ruined it with the cvt
Absolutely 100%
You said do do😂
Haha, I say so much dumb stuff I don't even realize it until editing!
I decided to delete my cats after watching this.
Kind of reminds me of my Infiniti G35 when I straight piped it
Cool car man!
