We stayed at Duyung Homestay in September. We upgraded to a studio room (more room, couch, table/chairs, larger fridge, cooking facilities). We agree with Vicky, Warung Kecil have very delicious breakfasts. We had the pleasure in meeting you for a coffee and chat.
I did mention a few of the things you told me during that catch up. Thanks for the heads up on Duyung Homestay! A really good location and I think excellent for the price.
Yes thats a great find at "food central" as I call it now, already booked for next year and the larger rooms are down the end of the walkway, they are double fronted which certainly gives a lot more space and the sofa bonus.....keep up your great vids. Many thanks.
I actually really like and have stayed at the nearby Asoka. The only trouble is that unless you book way in advance, it's almost impossible to get a room...
Nice find. Haven't stayed there but been past it a few times. The bubbling in the paint, for me, usually indicates rising damp. Do you smell any mould in your room? Great location, although over what I would normally spend but good price for sure.
Hey Adam thanks again for the info, left field question....Probs one for Susan however have you much experience as to where to find the best massage places in Sanur we are staying at Sagara Villas do you recommend anything near by? Thanks Carol
We aren’t massage experts unfortunately, but Susan does like the Nest down at the beach. She reckons it’s one of the most spa-like massages she’s had in Sanur. There are others that are cheaper such as Peni Weni.
Unless you can cut through one of the beachfront hotels, Jalan Pantai Karang is the quickest way to the beach. The problem is that there aren't too many warungs down there. If you're lucky you will see a cremation in the car park which is a unique cultural event... I think the best option is to walk up to the icon mall and cut through there to the beach walk where the warungs start at that end of town. Otherwise, there are plenty of warungs along the main road away from the beach.
Yeah, it’s at 12:13 in the video. I paid Rp387.000, but prices are seasonal. You can check out the booking.com link to the hotel in the description to check current prices and for that larger room.
Hi Adam, i noticed the price you quoted more than doubles over xmas/new year. That was checking through online booking sites. Do you think you would you still get your quoted price if booking in person at the hotel during that time?
No, I think it would already be booked out because it's the busiest time of year. I would probably check further back from the beach and maybe up your budget a little bit for Christmas...
Haven't been to Bali for awhile so don't know the prices. Looked on Google maps and rooms were $40 AUD plus. I might stay a few days and move on with my bicycle, but its good have comfy spots to revisit when in the area again.
Yeah that's about right. Cheap accommodation in Sanur is in the $30-$45 range. Outside of Sanur you can still get it slightly cheaper, but you start to get into places without pools etc. The extremely cheap sub-$10 stuff is not really available anymore.
Hmm small backstreet homestay in Sanur wifi 84.96 Mbps ......... NBN Telstra at home just outside the Barossa Valley south Australia 26.51 Mbps and they call Indonesia a developing nation
Istayed at Komune resert and Besahki beach hotel last time. Duyung is just as nice as Komune resort rooms and nicewr than besahki..The bathroom at Besahki beach resort was not real clean or hygenic looking
Ah right. It's a bit of a problem that many of the hotels close to the beach are old and in need of renovation. I'm not sure why they don't put a bit of money into them to bring them into the 2020s.

Good info on the bigger rooms. It's a top little spot.
I agree Adam, the Duyung location is a definite plus.
Yeah it's the main draw of this place in my view. Just so central.

Good tip. I'll have to check it out!
@SanurDiaries If you email Asoka via their website, you'll get a better price. The rooms are spotlessly clean, also the pool. Very nice staff.
Looks like a little hidden 💎in a perfect spot. Thanks for sharing Adam 👍
No problem 👍
It’s a great home stay, been there 3x in last year. Friendly staff, good location.
Warung kecil is amazing.
Shhhhhhh lol 😂
ha! I don't think Warung Kecil is ever going to become too busy. Have you tried Warung Kecil Infinity on the bypass. Much bigger location.
@ no I haven’t 🤔 .
My shhhhhhh was actually about Dyung Homestay. Cheap lil gem.
Oops 😅
@ 😂😂😂
Excellent coverage of this Accommodation, I’ll be in Bali next month , Peter,

Great for the budget minded. Not for me though, I could see some issues, but its priced accordingly and great location.
Yep, it is definitely a budget place.

lol It's crazy isn't it? They aren't even using the fastest plan. Some go well above 200.
i didn't know milk bottles could swim lol
nappies toothbrushes and thongs plastic bags can also swim in Bali. LOL
Mate it's not a milk bottle. It's a 2L milk carton thank you very much. 🤣
