Love this video. For me, coming home to a more minimalistic house is so calming! "Stuff" drains me mentally and physically . I am going through closets and old work materials. I am refreshing our home with "lighter" decor and less is truly soothing for me!

hello my friend and thank you for hanging with me today! Yes girl! I agree! I am on the same path as you. It's a slow process for me because not only am I decluttering for myself but 4 other people in my home and so it does get overwhelming but I am moving through as quick as I can and trying to keep the mess at bay so I can have less stress daily and keep my depression under control. I love what you are doing! Stick with it! Have a beautiful Sunday my friend! xo

All the time you were giving the definition of a hoarder I was thinking, “I think your a hoarder!” I then thought how rude that’s sounds! But it’s not rude it’s just a type of definition or explanation. I am an ‘organized’ hoarder, have nothing on my floors or counter tops but it’s stored very neatly in organizational bins out of sight! So I have been going on a different journey of de-cluttering and taking a hard look at why I feel I need to have so much stuff!!! God bless what ever journey of self-reflection you are on and praying for our mental health❤️❤️❤️

I so appreciate your sharing of the "Why?" question! That is something I can hang on to when my will is faltering and I am saying self-incriminating things quietly to myself. I can clear the way for real progress (even incrementally) and learn to be kinder and more patient as I change. Thank you so much: you are a wonderful person for sharing!

When you mentioned the panic of the doorbell ringing I almost cried because I get iiiiiitttt🥺😭 I HATE that part. Being afraid to have someone drop by. Or having to tell neighbors “sorry not now”. It can cause such a bad spiral keeping you stuck in the depression cycle too. I’m in the thick of it now, and have been for awhile. Hoping to pull myself out ASAP. This vid just helped me get up and get a few things done though. So THANK YOU for being brave and showing what so many of us are going through.

I stumbled upon this channel last year. I was tired of the typical UA-cam moms who seem to have everything all together and purchase the most expensive organizing items for every project and they clean already spotless homes. It made my depression worse because I would watch those vids thinking what’s the point my house will never look like that and I don’t have the funds to make it “Pinterest” worthy. But I have since unsubscribed to all those toxic Chanel’s and have found more wholesome realistic content that motivates me and is more relatable to my situation. Thanks for the content it was much needed and appreciated.

What a great thing when you said to people with physical limitations that there are ways to be more effective on a daily basis: learning to plan to accommodate, as in a chair or sitting on the floor on a pillow next to clutter, is such a positive frame-of-thinking. Does me good as I have issues with with pain and such but don't want to be a martyr or underestimate my capabilities. Again, I will use the wisdom and grow. Thank you for being you!

I have anxiety but I am always cleaning up after 3 other adults and 3 kids, so it's a never ending daily struggle to keep up. I worked outside in my wooded backyard yesterday and my kitchen progressively got dirtier through the day. Well this morning I looked around my kitchen thinking "should I film cleaning this or is this just too messy?!?!". I love your strength to show your vulnerabilities.

This is me to a T… All OF IT! Anxiety, depression, OCD. I’m 40 😋 We have 6 kids so you can imagine the messes lol I just get overwhelmed by mess and don’t know where to start. I do get better this time of year. Maybe the sunshine and warmer temps?? Something that has helped me lately is saying positive affirmations everyday. I am blessed to be a blessing. I am highly proactive. I am thriving in life. I am rising above every obstacle. I am full of energy. I AM ENOUGH…. And many many more! I have recorded these and listen to them every morning! Doing some exercise is also crucial for me, as hard as it can be to make myself do it sometimes. So glad I found you!! You are awesome Mighty Mama! Keep pushing.. we got this!! 🙌

Hello Becca! I am so sorry for all that you have on your plate! Gosh! I wish I could come over and help you some way. You are a Mighty Mama, Wife, and Daughter and you should never feel guilty about the mess! You have every right to have a mess! We are only human and wake up with a certain amount of energy each day. You are obviously giving it to everyone and everything else. This is why I want you to do this first Becca! Do this one thing before you even think about starting to clean your mess. It's Sunday. Run out to walmart or walgreens and pick up some epsom salt (try Dr. Teals Lavendar Espom Salt) Amazon sells it too. And I later tonight when everyone is in bed I want you to run an epsom salt bath for yourself and soak for at least 20 mins. Turn off the lights, just use a night light, and search anti-stress music on YT. Then just put your phone on the floor so you don't drop it in the tub! lol! Don't want to add any more stress to your life! 😂And just relax, focus on the music. Don't think about anything else. Let all the rest go for that 20 mins. Rinse your body down with the shower after so the salt rinses off and apply lotion to your body. Take this time to massage your hands. This lowers Cortisol levels which are stress hormones. Then drink a glass of water and go to bed. Try to make this a routine for yourself every night because honey you deserve that self care for all that you do for everyone else. You are an Angel to your family and while it is the right thing to do you have to remember we can't pour from an empty cup. Fill your cup a little each day. This is to avoid burnout! It's mandatory or else you will burn out and then you are no good to anyone. Then ship sinks and we never want that to happen! As for the house just start with one small spot and focus on the active areas of your home since you are so busy each day. Focus on keeping up on the dishes, garbage, and one load of laundry a day. Vacuum at least every 3 days if you can manage that. And bathroom sinks and toilets once a week. If you have decluttering to do then you should schedule at least 10 minutes each day dedicated strictly to one space so that you can look through things and find what you do not want anymore. A little bit each day is better then nothing. In time this little bit of dedication will pay off. And if you happen to get that burst of energy to declutter a room then jump on that girl! Cancel anything that is cancellable and spend the day decluttering! You just have to try and make it a priority otherwise it will never be and so you will continue to fall behind. I want you to know that I will be praying for you and all of your family. You are such a beautiful soul and your family is so lucky to have you. I believe this is what God has called you to do so know that you are Mighty enough for the jobs but you just have to learn how to balance it all. I am working on this myself. Have a beautiful day and don't forget your bath Mama! Stay Mighty & God bless!xo

I found your channel as I was embarking on my own journey to decluttering. My Mother and her mother were hoarders. 9 years ago I had to make an adjustment and move my mother in with me because of her health. My life drastically changed we down sized to a single wide mobile home with 5 people and I suffered from severe depression and health issues. I let everything go.I am near the end of decluttering all the rooms in my house and just finished doing her’s. The weight lifted from my shoulders immediately. I started on the floor in the corner of a room and also on a chair sometimes I worked my way around the room because most days I couldn’t stand for very long.
I can’t tell you how long each room took because I just continued each day where I left off day after day.
My why is to never live like that again. Less is better! I just need to remember the feeling of relief I had when it was all done.
Thank you for sharing your journey ❤️ your videos keep me motivated.

Hello friend! I am so happy my videos are helping you. I totally understand how you feel but you can do it! Just find your own pace and figure out how and when to squeeze in this decluttering so you can live out your why! I love your why's. I also want and organized house where I am not scrambling to find things when I need them, and I know it's best to start projects after the declutter so I do not trigger my anxiety. I pray you find that someone special! Get your life back and start in your home. It will all fall into place and soon you will be sharing special memories with that someone! Remember I am here working towards my why too even when I am on a video here. I am struggling through it at home. lol! It's hard work but will be so worth all the pain! Hi, Laura (cool name by the way-my sister is called Laura). I've been watching you for a while, but never really comment on things, much. I can totally relate to these video, as I'am exactly the same as yourself. I have OCD & middle-ish of the road, hoarding, that stems from childhood life & when me & my partner split up. I've also had mild depression, my whole life. Once again, brought on by the same things. The thing is, when ppl know you have OCD, they expect your house to immaculately clean & organised (I do have tiny parts like that, but that's all) & I'm sick of explaining, that while that is a form of OCD, that's not just what it's all about. But they just can't get their head around it. I'm so glad to have found your videos, as it's great to know I'm not alone in this & your videos help motivate me. Thank you. x

Thank you! I really needed this today! I love your videos! They're so relatable. I also struggle with depression and anxiety. Right now I'm nap trapped by my 7 month old and I'm not ready for him to wake up🙈, but when he does I plan to start with the clutter in my living room.

Hello my friend! Thank you for being here and helping to keep my butt up and moving too! I remember those nap days and yes rest while you can. Work while the kids are up! lol! I learned that the hard way! Now my little guy will not nap at all. It's go go go until he drops at bedtime. 🤪 At least he keeps me active at my old age! lol! Well I hope you were able to get going on that decluttering by now. Do it! Do it! Do it! you are going to feel so good after! Just think of all the little stuff that will come in for Easter from all the family. Clear out for the new! lol It's never ending when you have kids. Well have a beautiful day! You got this! xo

Thank you so much for posting this! After watching this… what you said really makes sense for me as well. It’s such a difficult thing to power through, but like you… I am taking it space by space. At times, it just gets so overwhelming as to where to start and easier to put off. I’m really trying to get out of that mindset.

I used to have a bamboo shoe rack in my kitchen and I stored my pretty bake ware on it. I didn't have any upper cabinets so being able to have them stored lower down because they're heavy and still visible so I would use them, was really nice. I had originally bought the rack for plants which didn't work well for my home as I didn't have any tall windows. Anyway just a couple of ideas on repurposing it should you like the piece just not for shoes! Since you don't have space at that door for a hygienic feeling shoe storage, perhaps a Rubbermaid container outside would work, toss your shoes in the bin and close it up before coming in. Everyone gets one pair to keep at that door? A Rubbermaid outside would stay dry from rain and if you're good about the lid being on no bugs or critters should get in. It would be another thing to clean but also all the dirt would be outside so you could easily just dump any sand back into the yard and then spray it out or give it a quick wipe. Shoes are the band of my existence and that area is my least favorite to clean BC everyone has way too many pairs and they all need to be at the door for whatever reason.

I know it’s now March but your Christmas video came up for me when I was searching for ways to motivate myself to clean. When the title came up, it fit the bill. I know at the beginning you said to just get up and clean along with you, but at that point I just wasn’t ready. It took me 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through your video and rationally we know we’re not alone with these types of feelings and just how difficult it is to get motivated during these times. But actually seeing with your own eyes the difference you can make in a few days in one video was very motivating. I don’t have a UA-cam channel but I decided to make some time lapse videos of just small areas I want to tackle. Then watching the before and after gives you sense of gratification. So as I started to clean I thought I would keep you on in my background to continue my motivation. Thank you for sharing and you are an inspiration to everyone who struggles with issues.

Also I get you when you say hoarder. I think everyone is a hoarder of something. Some people are hoarders of one thing others are of everything. Don't feel alone I have been going through things in my house for probably 3 years. People have told me I should have had it done by now but I also have 2 kids and a husband. I also was a truck driver that was home for 34 hours a week for a year of that. Don't worry you will get it done.

    We cleaned area rugs.
Tomorrow he will golf and I will wash bedding and do some baseboards and other things.
Our kids and grandkids live in Texas so we don't have kid clutter .. it will get better!!

After watching your videos, I realized one of the main problem is, you are the one who have to clean after everyone messes. Everyone have their own responsibility, same as cleaning after themselves (Not just having others to deal with their clutter etc🙂). If them being still a KIDS is the reason to excuse that, hmm actually bcs they are a kids is a reason they should start learning to clean, declutter, start having some basic small responsibilities around the house esp for your condition😬 So that, later in the future they built healthy bond toward things and doesnt repeat the same cycle as now (?).
