I actually respect the BMW leather... it is much firmer to the touch since it has to support for the spirited driving you'll be doing, also long term it hold up extremely well. My 2011 335 leather still looks new, whereas some more comfortable/supple leathers from the likes of MB and Lexus tends to look like old catcher's mitts after a few years
I own the 2011 - 50i Xdrive 4.4l Bi-Turbo and I absolutely love it .. You really can't go wrong when you have a very roomy SUV that's very fast and beat most cars on the highway and run mid 13's in the quarter mile (I ran 13.6 in mine) -- This 2016 model I'm sure runs low 13's or maybe even high 12's .. I have 400hp and due to the fact the F15 X5 has stock 54 more HP at the same weight.. I am sure it kicks ass on the highway. Thanks Nick for the great video!
Nick i was just watching some of your videos from back when your 911 was having problems and man you sound so just not....happy. It's so great to see how happy you seem now compared to back then, either way keep the videos coming.
one of the best SUVs on the road..clearly he just likes sports cars...the "I am unimpressed" look is written all over is face...I think he judges cars by if they are supremely fast.
Hey Nick, been following you now for some time. Watched quite a few of your videos, and I must say they're getting better and better. I liked that information boxes you did in this one a lot! Keep on doing such a great job! Cheers from Switzerland
Thanks for reviewing the X5. The engine sounds great. My impression is you don't care for SUVs. I think the passenger front fascia air vent is actually functional.
I can see myself getting one of these instead of an M550i. as long as I have my sports car on the side, these are really nice and with the MSport pkg these things look pretty sharp.
I actually prefer you being more outspoken in your criticism, somehow it is more interesting then hearing how bloody great each and every car is. Volvo XC90 next? :)
We're actually taking delivery of an X5 35d pretty soon. Which given the size/purpose of this car is probably the engine to get. Great review as always Nick!
+asif naseri hmm how much horsepower did the 4.4 version had? because I got a 2002 3.0 and well it's not really fast, definitely not faster than a 1.5T colt czt
Nick, I like how you are adding notes boxes to the video when you are talking about something that cost extra. Good things. Just a suggestion, when you have plenty of time for a review,(not when you are in a rush), can you somehow do a "walkaround" with the drone? Basically just use the drone more haha, the results are cool, like that Jaguar video from a few month ago.
Felt the same engine lag on test drive, worse at low speed. Not sure if it is throttle lag or turbo lag, but It can definitely get caught off guard in traffic.
So, that's an X5 50i M-Sport...this is important to note because it actually has 480hp and does 0-60 only 1-2 tenths of a second slower than your M4 (4.3 vs 4.1). I think the sensation of aggressive acceleration is lost due to ride height, AWD drive train, and size of the vehicle. You say the acceleration is decent, but next to your M4, it is nearly identical. I thinks it's hilarious that you talk about the "leatherette" feel of the console while you touched it with gloves on. The irony is that the "5 series" is actually recognized by the world as a true luxury vehicle based on quality of materials and available options and the 3/4 series are not. I would put the facts out prior to your opinion...there is a large contrast between the two. I did however enjoy ALL of your M4 videos and look forward to seeing more.
Hey Nick...great reviews....i went to the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience last year and got to drive the whole range (except M's and i8)...and by far my favourite was the X5.....I drove the diesel version.....if I could ever justify spending 75k on a car that would be my top pick.
Ive had a few X5's and now a F82. My last 2013 X5 had turbo lag and im not happy to hear a 70k + 2016 still has the same issues. I DID love the X5, but im glad to be rid of the lagggggg.
Someone call Gorilla Protective Services, poor William riding on interstate without his seat belt! :) Great video as always Nick. I had a 2014 X3 35i w/a Dinan tune. It really pulled hard, but wasn't great in the corners. Sounds like I should have gone w/the adaptive suspension option. I agree w/the quality (or lack thereof) of the standard BMW leather and the Sansatec I had in the X3 wasn't also very good for a fake leather either, our VW's leatherette is much nicer.
+T-WRX its built in the ZF Gearbox and can be specced when you add the SPORT automatic gearbox. Funny enough its the same gearbox : ZF8 But with the sport you get paddles and quicker gearchanges (different map) also LC. U can actually code the sport auto gearbox map and LC in a standard version (but you dont have the paddles.)
I have that same pair of gloves :D lovely sports suv can't wait to own one some day....what I wish though is BMW release a V6 X5M in addition to the V8 I'm sure people will love the performance still with more gas mileage as well..wouldn't shred the V8 but you get the sports vibes. Any engineer or car enthusiast correct me if I'm wrong
There has got to be something wrong with that X5 because at 3.5k on the highway should not have as much lag as you experienced. My 2014 X5 50i has had a TON of electrical gremlins but it still hauls ass. There is a bulletin for the DME on the X5 50i, has this car had it done?
Can you please review the Range Rover Sport? If you do, please make sure it is the supercharged V8, so it has the active body control, torque vectoring etc... It would be interesting to see your opinion of driving dynamics, comfort, interior quality etc. Thanks!
Great Vid Nick... When are you going to review the M2?? Also, Can you tell me what the hand held camera/gimbal that you use? Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Hello Nick! Great video. Could you show us the parking sensors systems in your next videos? I always struggle when I park my wife's Audi, coming from a BMW myself. Also, why does this car have different side vents in the front ( Left one is fully fake while the right one is only half)?
Hey Nick, Thanks for another great video, I always enjoy watching your video's. Question, would you purchase a 2017 X5 or a 2017 Range Rover SPORT? Thoughts..... Cheers Stuart
Nice review Nick, enjoyed watching it ! I hope u can get on your hands on the new Jaguar XE. Apparently, it is a great handling and comfy little sports limousine. Wonering if you could confirm it or not.. : )
The front spoils everything. They put fake mesh grilles in that front bumper and there's nothing wrong with that, but I immediately noticed how on left side the holes in the mesh are "closed" and on the right side, the mesh is half opened (with holes in it). First of all, closed meshes look horrible, but why on earth did they spoil even the symmetry of the front end, by not doing the same design on both left and right grilles in the bumper? To me that just looks horrible. So horrible in fact, that I'd change the bumper to something else, straight away.
Nick! Could you do a review on a 550i F10 with M sports pack?? Please! I am very curious to see someones view about that specific car! Thank you for the great video!
I prefer the M-sport package on pretty much all BMW's with the exception of the X5. I really don't like how they implemented the M-sport trim with this car, I much more prefer the xLIne. And I totally agree with you about the interior leather. I think not only does it look cheap but it also feels cheap. I had an X5 loaner last year and I was not impressed by that grainy leather as well. It's really underwhelming. I would absolutely upgrade to the Nappa leather, it's a night and day difference!
+Krunal Rindani I would still have a M4 over a C63S, it really comes down to personal preference on styling more than anything else. These cars all perform much the same. I have a RC-F review coming very soon hopefully. I will likely get a 911 later this year if my bank account can cope
Prob a stupid question, but I only know BMW's as 328, 525, X5 etc. I always hear people about "E-model" this and "E-model that"... Is there a site, or can someone point me to the right place, where I can find which BMW is named by their E-numbers, instead of the regular model name such as a 328i etc? (I just would like to know what model BMW someone is talking about when they say: Oh my "E91" or "E36", etc is doing so and so... ) Just trying to learn more about my 2011 X5 -xDrive 50i (what E-number is that btw?), and BMW in general. Thanks so much!
Ever occur to you that in the back seat you're sitting on 3/4" of heavy wool coat, bolt-upright,and have your hair teased up? It has plenty of head room. "I wouldn't be comfortable". Ever read "the princess and the pea"? Alex on Autos, also 6" tall, calls it "extraordinarily generous" head room. He holds an entire hand over his head when showing the headroom.
I am a simple man, I see Nicks video, I press like ;)
+Igor Muller This is a good rule to stick to : )
+Nick Murray lol:)
***** haha stop haunting me then!
+Igor Muller Who cares?
*****
of course it is.
I love the production value of your videos! Really high quality content, every time :D

Bi turbo is Mercedes. You’ve got a twin scroll turbo charger
Nick i was just watching some of your videos from back when your 911 was having problems and man you sound so just not....happy. It's so great to see how happy you seem now compared to back then, either way keep the videos coming.
+Jason Ortiz Thanks Jason
It's really hard to believe you only have 66K subscribers! You deserve more Nick!
+ThatGearHead™ This is true. I am trying to get my Mum to subscribe
Your videos just keep improving both in quality and quantity. Keep it up buddy. Cheers!
+Super Car Meals Thanks for the comment, I will keep working on improving.
Love your work Nick! Top notch quality and an entertaining but in-depth style of presentation. Always a pleasure!
I love the drone tracking shots. Good work as always
one of the best SUVs on the road..clearly he just likes sports cars...the "I am unimpressed" look is written all over is face...I think he judges cars by if they are supremely fast.
Loving the new cinematography Nick! Loved the drone shots! The cars ok too ;)
Hey Nick, been following you now for some time. Watched quite a few of your videos, and I must say they're getting better and better. I liked that information boxes you did in this one a lot! Keep on doing such a great job!

Thanks for reviewing the X5. The engine sounds great. My impression is you don't care for SUVs. I think the passenger front fascia air vent is actually functional.
Also noticed an engine tick... not sure if that's usual or not, or just the way the mic picks up the sound.
It's the direct injection sound
RAJohnson713 I heard direct injection cars mate, they didn't sound like that.
I can see myself getting one of these instead of an M550i. as long as I have my sports car on the side, these are really nice and with the MSport pkg these things look pretty sharp.
Best car reviewer ever !
Great review Nick! One car you should do a review on is the 2016 BMW X6M!
I actually prefer you being more outspoken in your criticism, somehow it is more interesting then hearing how bloody great each and every car is.
Volvo XC90 next? :)
Nick= the type of dude who mounts a giant DSLR on a car on a highway
We're actually taking delivery of an X5 35d pretty soon. Which given the size/purpose of this car is probably the engine to get. Great review as always Nick!
how did it go the 30d??
We used to have a 2002 4.4 X5 and I loved that car. So much fun to drive, plus it was always fun to fuck with ricers lol
A bit of a sleeper maybe?
+asif naseri hmm how much horsepower did the 4.4 version had? because I got a 2002 3.0 and well it's not really fast, definitely not faster than a 1.5T colt czt
+xorkatoss it had 300 hp and 324 tq
xorkatoss It was understated supposedly it had 380
Great video nick, as always :) big bmw fan right here ;)
Why would you do launch control from the salt-covered, gravel-covered, rutted out shoulder of the road?
I think its not turbolag but throttle response.
Man I love your videos.
Best part of the video is the bloopers!! You should do a Bloopers episode!!!
Great video as usual and great format ! (45 min vids are way too long to watch imo...) keep up the good work ;)
I've got aBMW E60 545i 2004, the seats on my car has exactly same future as this seat in X5 ! wow
So Nick... Why aren't you in the new Top Gear crew? You turned them down why???
+Ola Justin It would have cut into my UA-cam time! :)
Felt the same engine lag on test drive, worse at low speed. Not sure if it is throttle lag or turbo lag, but It can definitely get caught off guard in traffic.

I have an x3 and I love it.
Have a 1st gen (E53) facelift and love it.
Hey Nick...great reviews....i went to the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience last year and got to drive the whole range (except M's and i8)...and by far my favourite was the X5.....I drove the diesel version.....if I could ever justify spending 75k on a car that would be my top pick.
I love these reviews!! Also my favorite part is seeing the backseat passenger 😁
What years of this vehicle had electrical problems ?
Amazing car!! Very good job for the BMW!!!
Mit handschuhen beurteilen ob es echtes leder ist oder nicht, genau. Und vorallem warum die handschuhr im auto???
the launch control is this an option, or can i also place it in sport manual and it will do this auto?
Hi nick, great vid, can u do an x6 or x5 m review/comparison
Oh Nick, must you put such daft intro music? Great review! Waiting for 340i review :)
+jccfis Oh come on, Black in black, for a black on black on black SUV
+Nick Murray Ah, missed that bit! Clever
I feel like you should review more popular SUVs to boost traffic to your channel generally. I enjoyed this one. Wish you covered trunk space
Great video as always
Ive had a few X5's and now a F82. My last 2013 X5 had turbo lag and im not happy to hear a 70k + 2016 still has the same issues. I DID love the X5, but im glad to be rid of the lagggggg.
such a nice video like alwayes, and i like that u review others cars, not only sports cars.
Does anyone know if the 2010-2011 X5s come stock with Aux audio inputs? If not can they be installed and for how much
Someone call Gorilla Protective Services, poor William riding on interstate without his seat belt! :) Great video as always Nick. I had a 2014 X3 35i w/a Dinan tune. Why launch control in an SUV? Just because?
+T-WRX its built in the ZF Gearbox and can be specced when you add the SPORT automatic gearbox.
Funny enough its the same gearbox : ZF8
But with the sport you get paddles and quicker gearchanges (different map) also LC.
U can actually code the sport auto gearbox map and LC in a standard version (but you dont have the paddles.)
What about this car is preferable & not preferable to a 5 series?
I heard the steering feel absolutely sucks on this car, your thoughts?
Hi Nick,
Is there something wrong with the tire sizes, they look something strange, look one size smaller than it should be???
+Dzoonnii Maybe because it has winters on
Nick! Do you have a list of the equipment you use? Would love to know your interior and exterior DSLR mount
WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE CAMERA THAT YOU'RE HOLDING IN YOUR HAND ?
+CORBEN RYBACK Jimmy the camera.
+Nick Murray ??
I have that same pair of gloves :D lovely sports suv can't wait to own one some day....what I wish though is BMW release a V6 X5M in addition to the V8 I'm sure people will love the performance still with more gas mileage as well..wouldn't shred the V8 but you get the sports vibes. Any engineer or car enthusiast correct me if I'm wrong
Sick ride, i would put bigger tires on it. This vehicle looks mean af.
You should review the new XC90!
what if you added a section to each interview where you speak with the owners
Hey loved the aerial shot, which drone did you use for it?
Would you prefer the cayenne over this in terms of space and driving mannerisms?
Also, great video as always :)
Cheers!
+Arman Talwar I prefer the Cayenne styling over the X5 but to get similar performance and features the Cayenne is a lot more $$
There has got to be something wrong with that X5 because at 3.5k on the highway should not have as much lag as you experienced. My 2014 X5 50i has had a TON of electrical gremlins but it still hauls ass. There is a bulletin for the DME on the X5 50i, has this car had it done?
+li14lax It might be because I am used to no lag in my M4
Can you please review the Range Rover Sport?
If you do, please make sure it is the supercharged V8, so it has the active body control, torque vectoring etc...
It would be interesting to see your opinion of driving dynamics, comfort, interior quality etc.
Thanks!
is this 2016!! it does not have the digital instruments cluster
Great Vid Nick... When are you going to review the M2?? Also, Can you tell me what the hand held camera/gimbal that you use? Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Great video, as always. Now after driving the Jeep GC Summit 4x4 with the HEMI, what are your thoughts when comparing it to the X5 5.0i?
Now you need to get your hands on an X5M too!
More BMW content please.
Great video Nick, really like the new pop ups for the option add ons. Curious to know what wallet do you have there in the cup holder?
+Kenzo Chin My wallet is a Paul Smith naked lady fold.
These videos are awesome.
Hello Nick! Great video. Could you show us the parking sensors systems in your next videos? I always struggle when I park my wife's Audi, coming from a BMW myself. Also, why does this car have different side vents in the front ( Left one is fully fake while the right one is only half)?
Hey Nick,
Thanks for another great video, I always enjoy watching your video's.
Question, would you purchase a 2017 X5 or a 2017 Range Rover SPORT?
Thoughts.....
Cheers
Stuart
Hi Nick,
Why don't you do review on X5M and give your opinion compare to m4. Thanks
Nice review Nick, enjoyed watching it !
I hope u can get on your hands on the new Jaguar XE. Apparently, it is a great handling and comfy little sports limousine. Wonering if you could confirm it or not.. : )

are all x5s limited? or just with run flats?
Is there turbo lag during launch control?
+JDLARSON11 No because the turbo is already primed
Nick, you should review more motorcycles once spring rolls around!
+WeKnowYou12 I would like to but I just don't ride enough anymore to know what I am talking about with bikes.
+Nick Murray Do you have a bike?
+Bryce Himelrick Not any more I sold my Kawasaki 2 years ago.
+Nick Murray I see an m4 owner riding bikes more than I can see a 911 owner doing so lol.
Nick! Could you do a review on a 550i F10 with M sports pack?? Please! I am very curious to see someones view about that specific car! Thank you for the great video!
when u will do a x5 m review...pls i would love so much to see what u think about that car,i bet u will like it
+florin colesnicenco No time soon, but maybe a RR sport soon
Great Nick!
My Touareg 3.0TDI 2010 has similar weight and 240 HP and its 7.6s on 100Kph (very fast to me ;). So this BMW must be a rocket.
+woodypwx It is.
what gloves are those
you need to review the x5m, now that is what i call a proper range
340i review please!
Hi Nick , just subscribed please do a Review of the 2016 G-Class Mercedes with the new V8.
Love that STI VS M4 in the snow , instant favorite !!!
One question Nick, where's the RCF?
Nick, would you pick the C63/C63S over an M3? Why? What do you feel about the RC-F? Also, when are you upgrading the M4 ;)
+Krunal Rindani I would still have a M4 over a C63S, it really comes down to personal preference on styling more than anything else. These cars all perform much the same. I have a RC-F review coming very soon hopefully. I will likely get a 911 later this year if my bank account can cope
Nick Murray Thanks for the quick reply!
I have a question nick, out of topic, is that a power button on your gloves.?!!
+iamfranko7 Yes
Hey Nick when is the P90DL review coming?
+lawor8 Sometime soon, just waiting for some better weather here
Nice Review! I like the New X5
Prob a stupid question, but I only know BMW's as 328, 525, X5 etc. I always hear people about "E-model" this and "E-model that"... Thanks Ivan!
This X5 I think fits for a badass soccer mom...
+statesidesupercars 😏😏😏😏
Average your nuts. This is a man’s midsized suv, thr cayenne is more feminine.
Is the m4 still a fun car to drive?
of course, why not?
You have permission to use intro music? If do, you are doing really well. Keep it up
ok Nick was that shove at 12:17 really necessary ?
+lawor8 No, at some point it is just bullying I think.
personally I prefer the diesel version for the x5, but probably not available is the us
+The Kong it is available. The VW/audi diesels are not, because they lied.
"Pretty uneventful" yet "It gets up an goes, that's for sure!"
