      I've had this ladder for 4 years, loved it initially.... It says 375 pounds....everything you said is correct about convenience/portability but if you are a heavier guy ( Im nowhere near 300 ) I would not use this ladder fully extended to 12.5...great for reaches under 10 feet, plus the little release buttons wear out super easily and the rungs can get jammed off kilter...

    I bought one of these probably 20 years ago when they first came out, maybe not the same brand, but it didn't come with the rubber pad at the top. It's a great ladder, and has served me well over the many years of use, and I think it was around or under $50 back then. Many rooms have been painted using it, and much more usage. I love that it stores so small and has actually lasted this long. Mine says Made In USA on it!

    We've had them here in the UK for a few years. I work in construction & they are popular with electricians, plumbers, decorators etc. Much easier to cart around than a normal ladder, but yeah, mind your fingers!

    • @JohnSmith-hm7eh
      @JohnSmith-hm7eh Рік тому +2

      Yes, easier to 'cart around' in a car. ... I've seen similar ladders used by Salesmen for roofing products. .... The manufacturer says the ladder can be carried in an RV to access the roof. Now days, not many people want a permanent ladder for any roof. A handy product, SouthernPrepper1 with a discount too.

    I own a 15.5 ft version from WFX Utility. When foolish people spent stimulus checks on TVs I bought a ladder and other practical things. It's very useful, for the money spent it's a good buy. In cold temps, it can freeze shut or open so keep it dry.

    A bigger, older version is what my daughter bought with her “auction bucks” when she was in Carpentry at the vo-tech. Students earned auction bucks throughout the school year by grades, attendance, competitions, etc.
    She had more bucks than anyone and told her instructor she wanted a good telescoping ladder. The one she got sold for about $300 back then. It was a new concept. Her instructor made sure his department donated one to the auction. While other people bid on electronic toys, she got the ladder and a few other things. No one was going to outbid her since she had earned the most bucks. We still use that ladder. It was almost 20 years ago. Very good to have around.

    I have one of those ladders, used it when I repaired excavators and such. It fit in my van well. I weigh 200 lbs and it never failed me. Just keep it lightly lubed and free of debris. Now I just use it around the house.

    Got that exact model, what I like besides it being lightweight and very portable is that we don't have to leave a ladder outside, when we don't use it its in the garage or the basement. Not leaving a "tool" for a potential burglar outside of the building is a plus in it self. I don't like the rotational flex that's in these types of ladders, but as mentioned its inevitable with a product with so many connecting parts. As long as it's placed on firm ground and leans against a solid support up to as well (as a ladder should be anyways) it's not a problem.

    Use them all the time in pest control. Typically, there are two weight ratings: yellow is 225lbs and black is 375 lbs. I consider them one of mankind's greatest inventions. Fits anywhere. I bungee the ladder alongside my metal storage rack in my pest control vehicle.
    Safety tips with this ladder:
    >Regularly check the rubberized feet for wear and tread loss. When the rubber starts to wear out, these ladders can slide on smooth surfaces like tile floors, especially in commercial kitchens.
    >Set up one foot out from the base of the building for every ten feet in height. A foot and a half out, on a level surface should be fine if the ladder is fully extended.

    @1:22 Wait why does this shorter version from Vevor have the green/red locking indicators when the 18.5' one is only stamped shallowly on the outside face of each rung?
    Also, I'm finding that my latches don't clearly cover up the "unlocked" indicator like they're supposed to when fully extended. That makes me worried that the rung might just give way if I so much as look at it funny. Did any of your rung indicators ever get caught in the middle?
