thought id mention this for anyone who needs it !! demeter cast and cyclone are two different curses so you can apply the dmg buff only by using the cast:3
I realized Hook Knives by my 8th run and apollos Attack, was basically like Hades 1 Spear mad early, so I went for it every run since and I killed Chronos, and beat the Surface in back to back runs.
In case you haven't figured it out yet, while the dark hex is active hold down the button to fire a lot more attacks.
I was doing over 2000 damage consistently with a single omega attack using aphrodite attack boon, the hammer that increases magic cost but makes omega attack deal 300% damage, and the aspect of artemis for the twin blades. I melted chronos within 2 minutes. It's even more insane since you can parry chronos' one shot and then deal well over 6000 damage by spamming riposte boosted omega attack. Every enemy in the game was being melted lmao.
I had a similar build with the Apollo/Aphrodite duo boon where I would do 1400 an omega attack with the three heart throbs it summons, with the hammer making it the exact amount to summon them everytime
Hook with the hammer that puts all shots straight ahead will just MURDER anything, I love it! Won't really work well with Scylla because of her shell, but still hits a lot sideways.
for the torch, you need a very specific build with hestia attack and demeter cast and a away to throw your cast infront of you. Then you just want lots of movement speed and attack speed to continuously hold down attack. I got my frist win this one and it was super cheese since you can just stand far away and spam your attack and cast at chronos
splash on special is also quite good cause then you can still stagger the mobs while using the special

I got a build similar to this with hook knives, concentrated flurry and sureshot flurry (got an extra hammer from echo)
Basically a chiron bow with an ability to backstab, paired with bonus backstab from melinoe aspect for even more damage.
carried me through my first chronos clear, the fight lasted 3 minutes and I had like 1 upgraded arcana card and lost 0 dd's, definitely made the sister blades my favorite weapon so far.
Note on Act 3: you can follow the trail of golden leaves to get to navigation tree.
I stg sometimes there's more than one path or it'll lead in a couple directions or something and you get trolled lol
but need incantation for that

I had an insane run with the aspect that caused your special to home in on enemies in your cast(like Chiron) plus Spiral Knives hammer(16+ Knives).
Had Hestia on my special and Zeus with Chainl Lightning for each hit. Basically an absolutely rouded up version of Chiron.
39:32 imo it depends on the path, coz if you're doing a staff run with a lot of omega moves you're probably building your hexes a lot faster (especially with hestia regen) and if you get like total eclipse it's absolutely worth building around that hex. Now I have taken the philosophy of building good tier 1s for most of the moveset for a lot of weapons instead of sticking to just one thing unlike in hades 1 so ymmv but i feel like hexes are in general way more exciting than call boons, and y'all should really try a hestia mana regen total eclipse build on the staff; the end point on total eclipse is amazing

skulls with special dmg increase and if u are lucky to get the upgrade that makes ur curent ones common then upgrade by a few to few encounters would help alot ,maybe some magic regen while standing still,some cyclone or freeze in your Q and upgrade your card to have 3death defies + 1 from the tooth ... oh and get alot of sprint ,i had like 90% speed increase on my best runs and made the game on super easy after getting some specific builds with the skulls weapon
I love using the counterattack aspect and aphrodite attack with the daggers, if u get backstab hammer its gg
This game is so damn fun. The first game I loved as well, but I would enjoy doing a run or two... maybe a handful at most and then taking a break. This one I just want to play for hours on end, there's so many ways to progress. I want to watch your newer videos too but I don't want to spoil the Chronos fight or the upstairs zone for myself. Also, I hate the feeling where you want to unlock the entire fated list but also want to have an OP build every run. I got hook knives one time so far, and it was a blast but I barely had any gods unlocked so it was pretty underwhelming.
New challenge ideas:
- first run clears, beat hades and hades II back to back (for hades II only chronos)
- hitless first run clears, same as before but hitless
- SGG legacy challenge, play and beat all super giant games in order and beat the final boss as quick as can be done
I havent played bastion, transistor nor pyre but these legacy challenges tend to be about finishing the game as quick as possible. Think soulsborne challenges like what ginomachino does for fromsoftware games :)
Also:
- hades II, Max upgrades speed run, max customization speed run, clear all bosses speed run, max relationship speed run, max keepsake speed run etc
I had an insane build with that weapon and a hammer that upgrades the omega to base 400 and wide area, then I had aphro boon onto of that bringing my base to 600 then I had another boon that upgraded the power for every kill with the omega and in the end I could do 800+ for 20 magic and demolished that run.
Smithy sprint is insane when u combo it with 1 instance of dmg negated while sprinting boon. Think it's from Hermes. After upgrading both boons I got to 500dmg with smithy sprint ( also had vent for another 400 dmg after 5 sec) and 2 instances of dmg negated while sprinting. This was my first build to get to chronos and I did his first phase in about 90sec then died during 2nd phase.

smithy sprint is actually amazing specially if you can get it epic ide say top three sprints
I got a win with the torches, but only used smithy sprint the entire time. Epic and pommed with magick regen and movement speed I think it's actually really strong. Also easliy triggers your hex quite quickly
Yes I feel like the dps seems to be lower in this damage always seam to be low more so the last 2 guardian fights in hell
Whatre some good alternatives for the knives if you never see Hook Knives boon? I've tried building around attack but I end up taking so much damage
I like Skulking a lot (backstab damage)
@@Haelian i actually had a very easy run using the explosive aoe omega attack however it sucks vs chronos specifically because the omega attack never connects
scorch is great if you can get the boon that purges it for damage when it reaches 300 scorch dmg

Stumbled across a cool feature, maybe glitch, but put on a keepsake close to leveling up, used the boon rarify, and when it leveled up I could rarify a second time on the same run. Glhf with the runs 😁👍 got my first Chronos kill myself today lol bosses are a big step up in difficulty, I feel.
This would be so strong with the Mel aspect lvl 5 ( for the knives it gives bonus backstab damage)

First time I got to chronos I had a hook knives + sureshot flurry with... I think Apollo on it. Was so easy
Haven't played the game yet but from what I've seen it looks like compared to the first it's a lot easier to build a weapon with the intent of only using either the attack or special. In Hades 1 the weapons tend to encourage you to use both or just have one that's not great (shield/bow special not counting zeus/chiron) but here they both seem to be able to stand on their own much more. Like another comment said Hephaestus sounds good to put on a move you aren't planning to use much as just a thing to throw out once in a while as your other attack does the main dps
I actually think it could be the opposite with some certain boon effects, namely Blitz and Heph's blast boons.
I think it just Seems that way because the buffs can be extremely Powerful under the Right Circumstances.... But in the Runs where I had nothing on my Attack and Special I needed both for different Challenges
Need a video describing final boss fight attacks. I was short of 1 earth boon so I didn't have the 15 limit this time, but I was doing great. Until second phase when some random projectile did 899 damage to me then I got stuck in a time bubble and went from 100 health to 0. Two mistakes took away 2 life's.
The big hit isn't a projectile I think, it's you not standing in the circle when he does that windup attack with the circle
@@pioneershark2230 already know about that one and it was not active when I took that damage. There were a lot of adds and it was a fairly big size ball.

Dont take your finger off the triggers between the prompts on the Grasp minigame. No more scams.
Doing it that way is exactly what made me fail.... Its Easier when you take your Fingers Off 👀

Hera is in the game. One of her Duo boons is with Zeus where you give up all your Zeus boons but your Hera boons gain an equal amount of levels for the amount of Zeus boons given up.

i got a similar build with 16 knives and it melts the beast in literal seconds. he got out, goes right back in to summon, and got melted again. not even time to use the fireball or anything
i mean it's basically just the spear hammer upgrade from the first game

As someone who enjoys watching your runs on UA-cam, but doesn't have the game, right now it would be nice if you lingered on the text for what stuff does a bit longer. I know eventually it probably gets old given how many times you play through it, but part of the fun is thinking through what I would pick, see what you do, and then see how it turns out.

"Fun" challenges with Hades 1 and Hades 2... world record for fastest (RTA) to get both credits screen from fresh files
I'm really having hard time with this game, 20 night and only reach cronos once. Im felling realy weak.
Don't measure your progress by your Ability to Beat Chronos. All that does is Grant you Sand anyway. So Far only two Items need Sand to Make.
My Advice would be to Just Have Fun... Play to look cool... Not to Beat the Boss. 👀
I found Dark Side super underwhelming when I took it.
I feel like Eris didn't slow you down enough, I think you're generally intended to at least visit the surface before you beat Chronos, and probably to beat the surface entirely
The surface isn't even done yet, 2 areas rn, you're likely expected to kill chronos before finishing the surface run, it seems overall harder as well which adds to that thought
@@pioneershark2230 I thought it was much easier. I barely make it to Chronos and still can't get him to phase 2, but have never lost a surface run
It probably helps that there are only 2 areas in it, though. But I doubt you're intended to beat Chronos before you at least unlock all the gods
@@Dimencia i found the surface really hard, like comparing their respective 1st and 2nd areas getting past Scylla was really really easy past the first few runs and i'm finding Eris very difficult
same with the cyclops compared to hecate
I beat Chronos before Visiting the Surface (because I thought that's how you unlock the Surface) but I only Met Eris Once.
So yeah I don't think that's an Accurate method of Gauging what needs to be Done in What Order.

the most broken build imo at the moment is the staff with double special which tracks enemies and put poseidon on it. u will get it early and carry to the end. its so broken. start with poseidon and go for the deidoloshammer. ez win

Her 5 second "scary" mode is dogshit. For the amount of mana used, only having a 5 second window, you can do way more dps outside of that mode in 5 seconds.
You can't take damage in that mode is probably the reason also
Oh yeah, he also wasn't using it right, you hold down attack to fire faster
He also doesn't tend to start with the special when entering it
