This is a great video. These types of videos are always appreciated. Thank you. I'm not trying to sound negative, but I had to give up a LDR for many reasons. The one main reason that was a major sign was because I was told by her, for lack of better words, it all depends on you and you better not disappoint me because I'm going to have to give up everything and everyone I've ever loved, known, grew up with to be there with you. First off, no one's asking anybody to give up anything. I really thought about it and asked advice and everyone said that it is a recipe for disaster. There's going to be a lot of resentfulness and anger if you two get together and it doesn't work out. I was told that she was putting me in a very bad position and that if anything went wrong, it's always going to be my fault and she's always going to throw it in my face that she had to give up everything. I had to make the hard decision, but for the better of both of us, I had to work on cutting it off emotionally and somewhat physically even though it was long distance. It wasn't easy, but I had to rip the Band-Aid off sooner than later. This isn't meant to disenourage anybody or put down long distance relationships as far as people who are involved in them and who have become successful with theirs. I'm very happy to hear about the success stories. Some people despite their best efforts can't make it work solely because it's long distance.

I needed this so much Mat. Thank you so much for this.. I have a boyfriend and he's miles away from me. He has plans on us meeting each already for the first time but this pandemic is blocking us. This is very interesting .
I was in an LDR for a long time. Eighteen years later, we live in the same town, again. Yes, we lived in the same town the first, 11 months of knowing each other. Military life took over and we went to different bases. We used to call quite a bit, then moved to texting, then Skype, then back to texting. We literally spend the whole day texting, even, if we are busy with work, then see each other at the end of the day.

Certainly not for everyone in a society that thrives on instant gratification. We did LD for 3+ yrs. Not sure how we did it but love certainly. We always tried to have a plan when it came to seeing each other again but occasionally it didn't happen. We had goals for sure. Soo here we are 4 years later. 😊 We live 7 minutes apart. Only living apart due to a parents illness and looking after them in home. All worth it! Little bumps in road just make us stronger and show our commitment.

My darlings on deployment in the army at the moment and he's been there 2 months already.He has 1 month today left and he's very busy, everyday he works 12-14 hour days and is very tired every night. There were times when I almost had given up with the distance however he has certainly made sure I was the a priority to him anyway I feel safe and secure.
He prioritizes time for me every morning when he wakes up and every night before he goes to sleep. Our conversations are 95% uplifting, supportive and positive.
The 5% were missing each other, however at the end of his deployment we've decided to get married and it's his last deployment

I told my boyfriend first to come and see me closer and spend some time together then we talk about the future.
For all LDR or short distance, if a man or woman only text you and never video call you it is a red flag, be careful, also if he is asking for money or getting his nose in your finance Red flag too.

Am in one and the attack is too much, my boyfriend finally got his visa oops can’t keep a secret anyway he’s planning his way to join me here in UK. We're about to be Sophomores in College, and I convinced him to enter a LDR with me. He said he'd give a LDR a try before saying it wasn't going to work out. Our homes are in the South, but he's in the Naval Academy up North. Almost half a year later, I finally get to see him in person again, and he tells me he doesn't want one anymore. :"D
I feel like LDRs are always worth it in the end. He just wants to take his opportunities to meet new people and have someone close rather than anticipating someone that's far away. Hi i m huge fan I want to tell you that I have a long distance relationship and we have 3 months together , we through for a difficult times because he was ill and he sometimes want to give up in our relationship but I ala ways give him space and I want to make things work it because I love him and I want to be with him. Hello, I am in a LDR and I am sorry you've been apart from your loved one for so long. If it can help, there is a Facebook group called "Love is not tourism" that brings together couples in LDR. People support each other and, most importantly, give info about how to see your partner despite the pandemic (how are things in this country, which papers do I need to go there, with whom can I get into contact at this embassy, etc) and it really helps a lot. Many EU /US couples have been able to meet in a third country thanks to that :) hope it will help, sending you strenght !!

I was in a LDR for more than a year before the pandemic. Its really hard to have more patience to know when you can hold each other physically. It gets more tiring to just video chat everyday. Its never enough to see your partner on video. We tried our best to hold on.

What if it's not possible to have an anchor on when you're going to see each other next...? 😔 I've been separated from my guy for close to 6 months now because of lockdowns and border restrictions. We have no idea when we'll be face-to-face again. It's torture.
