  • Shrimp rolled in kataifi pastry makes a delicious and simple Greek-style party appetizer. I love to serve them with a variety of sauces such as tzatziki, marinara, and an Asian-style duck sauce. Your guests are going to love these!

    Makes 22-24 pieces
½ pound kataifi pastry, thawed and at room temperature
    ½ pound salted butter, melted
1-pound shrimp, peeled and deveined with the tail on
    Shrimp Seasoning:
    • 1-2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
    • Salt and black pepper, to taste
    Preheat the oven to 350 °F, 180 °C.
Place the shrimp in a bowl and add all of the seasonings. Toss to coat and set aside to marinate about 30 minutes.
Unroll the kataifi pastry and take a small bundle about 1.5 inches wide and 8-9 inches long.
Brush the kataifi bundle with melted butter and roll the shrimp up tightly, with it leaving the tail exposed.
Place on a baking tray and brush the tops with melted butter.
    Bake for 15 minutes.
Turn the broiler element on and broil until golden. 2-3 minutes.
Serve with dipping sauces such as tzatziki, marinara, or an Asian duck sauce. Enjoy!
