Ramón I love your reviews, thank you so much for still reviewing mineral sunscreens despite them being trickier for deeper skin tones! They're unfortunately one of the few options for me that do not break me out, even though they do not really fit my needs (hard to apply on facial hair, rather drying, don't look great under makeup).
I know this is a rather hard-to-answer question as skin is very individual, but from a formulation point of view, would you be able to hypothesise as to why all chemical sunscreens I have tried consistently break me out, but hybrid and mineral seem okay? Is there a fundamental difference in how hybrid and chemical sunscreens are formulated (like do mineral agents allow skipping certain chemical agents, or do they help reduce the overall concentration of them)?
Both asking for my own product search and science curiosity!

Have really been wondering about this one. Surprised it has a chemical filter also so it seems like it’s a hybrid. Also, It seems like it is close to Live Tinted Hueguard. That’s a good mineral one but didn’t work in my dark skin. Fitzpatrick 6 here. I’ll save my funds on this one.

Wow, with all the actives that explains the price point. That looks pretty good tbh. Deff would like it to be water/ sweat resistant.

I have it and it pills on me every time… Whether I add something under it or apply it on bare skin, it still pills, especially if I wear makeup, it appears patchy. The formula feels really nice when rubbing it in, although the smell is STRONG and can get a little annoying… Had high hopes

Ooh I haven't heard of this, I'm interested! The tint reminds me of the Live Tinted sunscreen, but that sunscreen irritates my eyes

There is a shorts video going around on Instagram, posted by Dr Charles MD, saying that water deactivates glycolic acid. He was pointing out that most ppl are using the ordinate’s glycolic acid toner wrong because after applying your supposed to let it dry for 3-5 minutes before moisturizing. I’m so confused….Help

    •  5 місяців тому +1

Well firstly, the first ingredient in that toner is water. I think the point they might be trying to make is that using something directly after glycolic acid could raise the pH of it, making it potentially less effective.

@tamaravarnado1207 of course . Also I think their video is a bit misguided.

I miss the fact that he used to review affordable sunscreens.

    •  6 місяців тому +20

I still do! My last 4 sunscreen reviews have all been drugstore sunscreens. I just get inquiries and have interests in other sunscreens as well. Plus affordable isn't so affordable any more. If you ever have any requests and or want to see me review something, don't be afraid to leave it in the comments or DMs.

He just did reviews of Bubbles sunscreens and multiple very affordable European sunscreens. (Keep in mind he lives in Europe.) You also can't blame him if the affordable brands are not launching sunscreens as much as their expensive counterparts.
