Fun fact: The voice actor for Luis is actually spanish and he's the usual voice actor fro Jason Statham in spanish.

@@MariusBoss11458 I know this is completely unrelated but it just reminded me; I got done watching this Black Sails show and when it came to introducing Spain, they went out of the way to actually hire European Spaniards rather than usual Latino Actors which really did well for authenticity and it really pays off.

As nerdy as it is I got goosebumps seeing that Krauser cutscene knife fight fully realised. This looks awesome

Re4 is about to be the best game all over again. Love to see how much passion is being put into this game.
So much of the original RE team is making this remake and it is very obvious by how brilliant it looks.
Yet they killed the dog. If only they re-purpose the dog to be like Luis here and let Luis die the game will be much better.
If Luis survives or dies way later it’s a win. If you get attached to him as a partner it’s even more sad when he does
Couldn't be happier about the Luis changes, both to his personality and his level of involvement in the mission. He got shafted in the OG, and now he's getting his due. Haven't even played the game, and I'm already far more upset at the thought of losing this lovable goofball of a companion than I was his OG counterpart.

Notice how Leon called Krauser "Major", meaning he's gonna feel even more betrayed this time since Krauser is his superior and possibly the one who trained him.
And calling him "rookie" like Marvin used to do.
@@mr.pockets8523damn, between this, leon feeling guilty about raccoon city and feeling like it's his obligation to save ashley to "atone" for failing marvin ben kendo and the others the story is genuinely shaping up to be actually good and emotional.
Luis being more involved this time around is gonna make his death even sadder when it inevitably happens. Capcom really seems to have hit a home run with this remake.

The question is at what point in the game will he die now? I mean they showed him in a couple parts of the game that are pretty far into it. Maybe Krauser kills him this time?

the game basically swapped the quick time events in middle combat to actual active mechanics (parry and ducking) and im all for it, that Krauser boss fight is gonna be freaking awesome

Yea Capcom has released some bangers but the negative reception of re3 was a good thing because it probably made 4’s team focus even more on doing a great remake! Obviously original RE4 being so iconic played a big part too…This will be the first RE game from 7 till now that’ll end up being around 15-17 hour experience compared to the usual 6-8 hours! So excited!
the possibility of Luis being playable in a Co-op mode is probably the most interesting theory and would give the game a crazy twist

Luis giving more love in this remake is such a nice touch.
This trailer's great cause it shows the team behind it knows exactly what made RE4 special. The stupid melee moves, the minecart section, Krauser's fight, Mike, the Water Room. It's like a greatest moments compilation with an added announcement of a beloved side character becoming a mainstay in the story.
One crazy cool detail that some people might have missed is how in 5:45, the ganados both throw their weapons and when leon ducks, both weapons collide and actually make a "clank" sound effect. Goes to show how much detail the devs are putting in this game and gives me hope that they will do this game justice.

Luis is lasting longer than he did in the original, Leon and Krauser's relationship seems slightly different, since Leon called him "Major" while Krauser called him "rookie".
Well... Krauser was always superior in rank to Leon, Leon real first mission hunting B.O.W 's and the ex drug lord related with umbrella in latin america was Leon first mission for the goverment after Racoon city if i'm not mistaken.
I’ve rewatched this video so many times. Max’s reactions are so perfect, especially when you feel/react the same way. I feel like this trailer was really for fans of the original- so much hype for this game!

Wanna know what I just thought about? With Luis being a companion character for a lot of the game it looks like maybe they are prepping for a RE5 remake
He will be a companion until Krauser's entrance, watch carefully as it is apparent Krauser killed him.

Love the remakes they are making, brings much love to it.
I just noticed that most of this trailer is centered around the castle (though we do get some military island moments). I do like that when Ashley lifts the lantern, you can see the suit of armor moving about in the darkness.
everything else we've seen has been from the first segment of the game so it makes sense

Max's little "AH!" at the announcement of the Demo was hilarious to me. I know it was out of excitement, but it sounded like he got jumpscared by it.
Oh man this trailer really had my mouth hanging open the entire time. I don't think I've ever freaked out quite like I did watching this, holy crap it looks SO good! It's giving me FFVIIR vibes.

My greatest fear was that they'd cut out half the game like they did in RE3 Remake. But...its all there....I recognize it all....

Re3 remake wasn't created by 1 singular team. And the 3 teams that handled 3make (redworks directed, K2 & Mtwo on support) didnt work on residence or REverse.
Resistance was handled by Neobards
REverse I'm unsure on, possibly Neobards again but it couldn't have been Redworks, K2 or MTWO because they all worked on re4 remake during the span ReVerse was developed & released.
You heard it correctly; all 3 dev teams from re3remake helped develop re4 remake in a support role behind DEV1 (re2 remakes main team)
Mtwo are even credited with executive producers in 4make.
I hope this information has helped the cause.

Luis looks amazing and the fact they're not killing him off in the castle really shows how loved of a character he was in the original and how much wasted potential there was for him. Honestly, this looks amazing!!
Notice during the Krasuer fight Leon doesn't have a gun equipped. They are Gonna force you to knife only Krauser!!!
I love how they really have been showing how Marvin's death and his inability to save him weighs heavy on Leon.

Has anyone else noticed that in the scene where Leon dodges the scythe, it damages the shotgun he’s carrying in his back? It cuts away the stock! Man, that’s sick!

No it didn’t. Play it back in super slow motion. That’s actually the scythe’s stick flopping back that you see. Because after he ducks, the stock on the back of the shotgun is still there. Just look. Anyways that would mess up the gameplay since he’d be using the shotgun without a stock and having to buy another or something every time it gets knocked off? That would be weird. Anyways it didn’t get knocked off so yeah. Just look closely.

To be fair, they've been giving side characters more screen time in every remake so far. Even Mike is probably getting some love.

You care even more about the UBCS in RE3, you despise Nikolai even more.
They revamped the writing pretty well, gotta say (and the voice actors are doing great).
I'd hardly call Kendo's treatment "more screentime". Just more emotionally weighty. But the whole scene felt like a formality with how quickly it ended and how little impact it had on the overall story.
I love that Leon seems so annoyed with Luis all the time lol
This contrast of "the funny guy and the annoyed one as a team" is so damn cool, it reminds me of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer type of movie.
It's nice of Capcom to give Leon a friend for once. I guess you can say Krauser in Operation Javier, but I like the dynamic between Luis + Leon a lot better.
They are giving him a friend only to take him from him tho :/. León can't catch a break. Only friend he can have at this point is Chris, but he has to smash his sister for Chris to like him. León has it rough.
I find it kinda funny Max that the whole time he focused on the trailer, he's more focused on Luis. Given that he and Luis have the same haircut. XD
Luis better be playable in Mercenaries this time, I used to always wonder why he wasn't in the original since his model was already in the game and he has a signature weapon nobody else had in their loadouts.
I just noticed at 5:09 that the handgun hes using has a 10 +1 ammo capacity and he hangs on to a partially loaded mag. The extra round in the chamber is almost never acknowledged in games. Very nice detail.

I really hope they still include the Regenerator enemy, the breathing was actually creepy and it worries me they haven't shown them off yet as they seem like a great piece of trailer content. Literally cannot wait regardless!

The secret they are referring to is when it shows Ashley with the lantern look behind the book case you see what looks to be a ghost. It’s paying homage to the concept RE4 before it was scrapped and remade into what we got on the Game Cube.

I feel like Leon with Luis as AI partner is gonna be a prototype for future remakes like Code Veronica with Claire/Steve or Chris/Claire. Possibly RE5 too with Chris/Sheva. Oddly enough, it's introduced briefly in Shadow of Rose DLC.
Not sure how much of the Revelation team are on this game but I replayed Revelations 1 recently and Jill is joined by Parker (Barry 2.0) as an AI partner for a good amount of the game. In fact almost all of the game involves two characters together and I guess that's fully the case in Rev 2 with the coop mechanics.
Definitely feels like they are bringing that dynamic back here switching off between Ashley and Luis. I'm actually curious how much of the game Leon will be alone now and how Luis decides to split up, like maybe finding the sample or something to help suppress the parasite in Leon/Ashley.
Max said the game was gonna steer away from all the corniness and over the top action- I've never been happier about him being being wrong finally

I swear I've seen more of Luis in this trailer than I did in the entire OG game. It seems like we might be splitting up Leon's team up between Ashley and Luis now. Though I'm still worried he's gonna end up dying still, just way later and with more emotional impact since he's got a lot more screen time than he did before.
This is one of those trailers that you wanna watch again and again, SO HYPED!

I like how they're adding depth to Leon's character by playing around the fact that he sees his survival in Racoon City as a failure to save anyone, probably a lingering survivor's guilt on the back of his head. I love cocky OG RE4 Leon, but this is also an interesting direction to take RE2R Leon to.
Edit: Also, if they're planning to kill Luis at some point in this game? His death is gonna hit Leon much much harder if what I said is the case.
Wow, I’m not gonna lie. I was skeptical about them remaking one of the greatest games of all time. But, this shit is looking pretty damn hype. Can’t wait to fall in love with this game all over again.

Considering Remake may have a different universe separate from what was canon in the originals, Luis and Mike have a string chance of living this time around and further expanding their stories.
Yeah, the RE2, 3, and 4 remakes exist in their own canon.
I dont think that allowed any dead charchter to survive till the end of the game like with kendo (ghoust survivor isnt cannon) so they will likely still die even mike section looks the same as the orignal before his death
I kinda miss the old voices but it looks fun like the original.
My only nitpick with the new voices so far is Krauser. New Krauser sounds like he's trying to emulate old Krauser's voice and it doesn't sound as good, imo.

Cool to see Luis involved more, felt like he was an underutilized character in the original so glad they are fleshing out his story.
I don't like Luis' new more weasel-y interpretation but him being alive into the later parts of the castle/mines is amazing, Leon and Luis being a buddy cop duo is gonna be hilarious.

It's cool to see Luis is going to have a bigger role in this version. I think I read an interview with Mikami years ago where he said he wanted Luis to be a much more important character but they had to cut content because of their schedule.
One thing I've noticed not many have is rewatch the segment where Leon is on the elevator in the tower and the krauser fight, watch what Leon does and what happens

The light below the grills in the first krauser fight as you go toe to toe with him (instead of QTE) accompanied by the swelling choir in the background has me hella hyped af
I like that Leon snatches the pipe from Luis' hand because Leon looks at it before he takes it and probably recalls killing the final Birkin boss with it in RE2 Remake, which in of itself is a foreshadowing of the final Saddler fight, where he also stabs an eyeball monster. The RE Remake have seriously brought back everything that I love from the OG games. I just wish RE3 Remake was better.
