The bigger the cactus, the longer it will take to callous. If you are dealing with a HUGE beef, a drip tip can take up to MONTHS to out. So be patience and if you can, let it dry upright so if it does have some growth during this process, it’ll grow fairly straight.
Let’s hope that this cactus and I can live happily ever after as long as I ensure the soil remains moist for the next few weeks.

I rescued three cacti and an aloe from Walmart about a month ago, on clearance, outside in freezing temps, for $1 each - and thanks to your cactus advice, all are doing great! 😊

Thanks for the videos! If you really want more cactus than you can handle just spend a year in North Carolina, haha! I moved here from Indiana for work, and I seem to get a cactus as a gift from at least one person for almost every occasion. I have close to 20 now, oh and aloe too. I actually had one aloe bloom last year. I only saw that in the south west until last year.

How to not brake your pot by making holes: take a small or big screwdriver and slowly turn it, it would help to make a small incision with a screw first. ♥️

I really needed this video last week when I went to water my barrel cactus and found half of it white and rotting 😭 Tried to chop it to revive it but it had spread past the mid-point where the stem was. I did save the soil though for future repottings! So you win some you lose some :/

Oh my lord some of these fungicides are super dangerous and I would use them outdoors with gloves and a respirator on.

Question, what do you do with your “dirty” soil? Like the stuff you take off of plants with root rot or moldy soil from overwatering?
Oh goodness, I've never thought about this before. But then, as a child I never saw my parents wash their pots and it's said you're supposed to and allow to air dry. 🙄 the information in my head is very mixed.

I got a bunch of succulent cuttings and string of things and they’re so beautiful. I love to just look at them. I’ve only killed 2 (overwatering) but the rest are doing pretty good.

I have a beefy boy who I found was rotting at the base this morning. I cut him just above the rotting area and rushed here to figure out what to do. It's a triangular shaped cactus with little spikes along the ridges. I'm wondering if I should care for it like you have with this cactus?
Would the rooting hormone powder help it root faster?
I have a cactus like this and it keeps getting flaccid and tops over, no matter if watered or dry, it is quite small and not at all heavy 😢

I have a question. I rescued a ponytail palm that did the same thing as this cactus. Since it’s technically a succulent, should I cut the dead bottom off and use sulfur fungicide or can I use that root starter stuff? I know I can’t root it in water. It didn’t have any roots either cuz it was jus5 hanging out in the pot.

I have a aloe plant I accidentally sit out overnight in too cold weather. It is now very sad looking. Is there a way to maybe save it
I had one last year that I accidentally allowed to stay on a very cold windowsill and it turned kind of brownish-red and looked horrible. I thought I had killed it. I moved her to a warm spot that still got natural light and within about 3 weeks, she was thriving again. She’s still doing great, and I had to repot this summer, as she started to outgrow her pot. They tend to be extremely resilient and forgiving of our mistakes. Hope yours pulls through! 🙂
Thank you yes that's how mine looks. She is in a spot with light. Her leaves are real long. So I should just leave it alone. I did water a little bit since it's been inside
How do you get plants on clearance? They never mark stuff down around here, just throw it away.
