This was amazing, thank you! Having grown up with the original Broadway release on PBS’ Great Performances, it’s fun to see what I remember in English set to different languages & how much I let my memory just enjoy the performance for what it is. So, again, thank you!
This is wonderful, thank you! My wife and I saw this in 2019 and were scheduled to go in 2020... but, well, you know what happened then. We finally saw it again this year though, just a few weeks before their run in Vienna ended. Those people... they have so much passion and heart, it moved me. If they ever do Cats there again we will return. The only "bad" thing you could ever say about this version - and this is rather evident in this video - is the fact that the central stage area is almost too small for the cast to do their thing without running into eachother all the time. But seriously this was the only "downside", if you can call it that at all, to this marvellous and truely magical version of Cats. From the people around the stage and on it to the smart technology used for some effects to the area the theater itself can be found I honestly believe this is one of the best productions that were ever made with Cats.
I'm going to upload more stuff from Vienna from time to time. It can take some time though as I want to keep the variety of productions on this channel.
@@hannahlena5187 This was filmed during one of the rehearsals before previews started. A few scenes from that rehearsal were given to TV stations to report on the production. I can't name my source as they prefer not to be known. I'm sure they recorded the whole show but I only own very few scenes. So most Vienna stuff that I will upload in the future won't be in that good quality. But I guess it's still better than nothing.
@@liam6169 I'm sure the Vienna producers recorded the whole show but such recordings usually remain in the producer's archives and are usually never leaked. So I'm afraid we will never see the whole thing.
