Comp Turbos new Hub-less turbo. We get more details

We met up with Comp Turbo at 2023 PRI show and asked us we can do a video about the new efficient power gained from going hub-less.

Most of the air is pumped around the perimeter where tip speed is rhe highest. Will be minimal gains

They have tested and found a 15% gain after some redesigning of the compressor wheel to spread the air efficiency around

So I'm guessing this is a hubless compressor, but the turbine now has a hub to accept the shaft? If not, how are these assembled?

The shaft and turbine might be made of one machined piece maybe?

The compressor wheel threads onto the turbine wheel shaft. They make special tooling to torque down the compressor wheel

You spun the turbo the wrong way bro.. The fins cut into the air and grab it they dont brush past it.
